My 10 year old and I stopped by Big Lots this morning. My son is very well behaved and stayed in the basket 99% of the time. My son found this little skateboard in the middle of the isle and of course, since he is a kid, he touched it. He may have even caused it to slightly move (but I don't think so - just trying to give the employee the benefit of the doubt here). Anyway, I told him not to touch it anymore and to just leave it alone. Fast forward 5 minutes, there was an employee (male with brown hair, maybe in his late 20's - half his hair was shaved with some long pieces hanging off maybe into a braid of some type) who was putting stuff out and I happened to look up while walking right by the isle he was at, and he was staring at me and was giving me the creepiest look. That skateboard in his hand. Im only assuming, so its just my thought but im guessing he thought we just set it aside or something? I really have no clue because my boy barely touched it. There weren't other ones, so I really have no idea where it came from initially either. I couldn't believe the look he continued to give me, while shaking his head and keeping his eyes on us. He was acting very creepy, so I just tried to stay out of his way. I let it go but then my son told me he felt like we needed to leave the store right away. I asked him what was wrong and he said that same employee was giving him scary looks and continued to stare at him. We had a cart full at this point, so we ran to check out and left as quick as possible. I can't even believe how an employee can act so horrible towards customers. We didn't do anything wrong here but I did tell my son, once we got in the car, that in the future we can bring random items that are on the ground straight to an employee, so he doesn't ever have to worry about this gentleman harassing him again. We love big lots and we are hoping this gentleman doesn't do this to other customers because he made things overly uncomfortable.

We bought an above ground pool that was on sale. She reminded me I had additional coupons I could use and saved even more money. It's always a great experience when I come there.

I expected more from this place. Waited 25 minutes for answers to questions about a sofa I liked and the employee continued to stock shelves until the manager stopped and asked if I was being helped, to which he offered the services of the man stocking the shelves. I told him I'd been there no less than 15 minutes and then got up and looked at the price of the sofa and said "he just cost your store 1600.00 and I walked out.

Always be find more than I'm looking for...This time, focus led on sale items, but really should learn to check sales slip before I get home. A number of items were priced, "Buy one, get one half off", yet found second items with only a 10 percent discount. Sad to say, late hour of departure didn't leave me the opportunity to question clerk...and have so far been unable to return to store, thereby leaving the issue with staff unsettled. Winter storms over the next week will likely keep me from any timely inquiry.

Needed a laundry basket w/wheels to give as a last minute a gift to someone who needed one. Googled 'laundry basket w/wheels' and found an inexpensive one at BigLots. Had to go all the way to Placerville, though, because they were out of stock at the Folsom store. BigLots website made it clear where item could be found in stock and I arrived just before closing. Store was decent. Could use a bit of restocking of shelves, tidying up, etc but overall clean and the brief interaction I had w/employees was friendly and easy. Short story Long, found online, went to store, purchased item w/no issues & left feeling was satisfied.

The employees were extremely helpful, the store is well kept and easy to find things. The only MAJOR problem is that you don't think of the disabled seniors by furnishing electric riding carts. I have major back and knee problems and unable to get my shopping done in one day.

I spend a lot of money here. $109 just on this small trip. I didn't get his name, but the guy at the register was very rude. He acted as though I was bothering him by coming in his line. For a store that is in heavy competition with other similar stores, they can't afford to have rude customer service.

Seems like they've just given up. The floors were filthy stuff was just strewn everywhere it's like the employees don't even care to clean up some of the furniture we stopped to look at was broken what a depressing stop.

As far as big lots stores go, this one is okay. Not great, not terrible. The employees, to me at least, always seem to just kind of be there. They don't seem to be particularly helpful, or acknowledge me. Unless I just want to look at something and be left alone. lol.They have some pretty good deals from time to time, but overall, this store seems to charge more for their stock than the quality of the items would suggest. My mom got some furniture here about 2 years ago, a love seat and a recliner, for which she paid a pretty hefty sum. The recliner is totally shot at this point, you can feel wood supports on your back where cheaply filled cushions have long since worn down and away, and the foot rest won't even stay up 😒 the love seat has faired slightly better, but the cushions on the arms of the piece flattened out to where you could uncomfortably feel the wood or whatever beneath within 3-4 months 😖 I don't recommend their furniture.

Big Lots has great prices. Great employees.. haven't gotten used to the way they have rearranged their store don't know if I like it yet. Still very convenient.. and I give them five times up!👍👍👍👍👍

I am actually shocked at the items that they have now! Girls Justice clothing, tons of Reebok items, super cute outdoor items for the garden area. Plus tons of great items for kids to do right now. Definitely stepping it up on the products

I was pleasantly surprised as to the cleanliness, stock and layout of this store. PLUS not only did they have TP, the had the favorite brand of my niece. So fortunate to have wandered in while waiting for my pizza to be made at Papa Murphy's. The check out process was a bit long considering the few people in the line/store. Thus, the 4/5 stars. But I must admit that was customer related, not sue to employees (who were friendly, courteous and efficient. Good Job team Big Lots! Placerville. I'll be back.

Kim in the furniture department (or wherever you find her) is amazing. So helpful, so kind. Had a few questions about the shelving I was thinking about purchasing, she was very sweet in helping me and even when I got home she was able to walk me through 1 final step.On another note, this store has great selection at a great price. They have many kitchenware and other storage items and in many colors and design choices.

Twice we’ve been in and been told we can’t buy something because it’s out of stock, and when we asked if we can buy the floor model, they’ve told us no. This last time, they refused to sell us a floor model despite watching them sell a floor model of something else to someone right before us. When we questioned it, we were told it was on clearance, I saw the item - it was not on clearance. To top it off, when I go on their website and go to look up the item, it says there’s one available online that I can order for same day pick up. And yet, it’s not available? Amazing. We will be taking our business elsewhere, why spend our money someplace that clearly has no desire for it. In a time when businesses are struggling, you’d think they’d be willing to work with customers.

Honestly, awful. I spent nearly an hour shopping here only to get up to the cashier and for my REAL $100 bill not to be accepted through their machine. He didnt bother to physically check it. I asked for his manager, me, my girlfriend and the manager all check the $100 bill and all 3 of us verify that it is real. The machine wont accept it so he tells me there is nothing they can do. I didn't have my bank card on me and had to leave completely embarrassed. It was a very crispy $100 bill I had just received from my bank that morning. All this because of a machine is unacceptable. I really liked this store until this moment.

Came in with a smile looking for a bed frame. I did not get so much as a greeting, or a can I help you?, nothing. I figured since I found what I wanted I would go to a different Big Lots and get it there instead. Unfortunately, after filling my cart with other items and standing at the register to check out. The cashier was clearly irritated as he began scanning items as if each item pissed him off more. He sighed loudly several times and when I held something up he abruptly said in an angry tone "just give it to me!" He didn't even give me the chance to tell him the sticker was missing. When I finally said there is no sticker, he asked me to go get him another one. At this point I was curious to know how long he has hated his job....so out of spite, I went and got another item but in a smaller size (less expensive) just to see if he noticed at all. He didnt. He simply scanned it and through it in a different cart. He set my item down for me to take, so I did. I really dont feel guilty for saving $4 on a pack of sheets but I hope this review catches someone's eyes. Your employees need a reality check and loss prevention training.

A "big lot" of stuff that's above average but not the best quality you can get but the prices are lower than a lowrider in Juarez meng! No really tho. They got some good deals. Highly recommend you check it out if quality is semi important but not as important as the price is. Haha makes sense to me...
