Being a new shooter, I went here for the first time to practice on the pistol range last weekend. Tom was very nice and helpful with tips for better stance and shooting. I did much better hitting the targets with his help. Can't wait to go back.Week 3 at the pistol range and have already gotten way better. All the staff is awesome, again Tom is my guy! He has been so helpful. Week 1 there was dust flying, now I just hear the sweet sound of that ping on the target :)

Started coming to this range some time ago as it was the only on in my area with a target out to 1000 yards. Well flash forward to today and I keep coming back thanks to the quality of the range and the amazing staff.Particular shout out to range master Tom, who is one of the nicest, most genuine, and helpful people I have met in my time going to ranges. He will go out of his way to help you if you have a malfunction, problem, or simple question.Best of all, no scarcasim, nonence, nor sense of humor; dry as a bone with the 1000 yard stare.Another shout out to Laura. She is an absolutely wonderful and lovely person who is extraordinary in her helpfulness and knowledge! She is definitely one of the many reasons I keep going back.I have taken several classes there, and everyone has been knowledgeable, helpful, and kind.Granted, if you don't pay attention, listen to the rules, or act like an idiot, no one will put up with it as safety comes first. I have heard some people say staff is rude, but honestly, the people who are writing it probably had a reason to get chewed out as I've been around them when it has happened.Porta-John's are always kept clean, and there is plenty of parking.Have done their PRS matches several times and it's always a blast (some pun intended).Prices are reasonable, since everything is maintained very well, and I have never had a reason to balk at a thing. I will continue to go back for years to come. More than likely even going to become a member soon as it makes enough sense for me.Thanks again everyone there, look forward to seeing you all again!

Love this place! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The place is clean and relaxing. I love the new private lanes! It's probably the best outdoor range in LA! Great range to go shooting with friends!

My favorite shooting range I have been to in Southern California. Everyone there is helpful and always friendly! From help with zeroing your optics to tips and pointers most ranges charge for, they are the very best. I highly recommend and without out doubt you will love this target rich range.

This place is a great place for beginners and more experienced shooters. My first time taking my first firearm to the range and handling it was an amazing experience here. Tom was incredible when getting comfortable my first handgun, and now I'll be taking my first hunting rifle and zeroing it here. Eventually I'll try to hit one of their targets at 1000 yards

Did the basic firearm training with Tom and was extremely satisfied. First off, Tom made us feel comfortable and safe. He was patient and made sure to teach us the fundamentals. As the session went on, Tom gave us helpful pointers and ultimately we felt confident in our abilities. As for the facility, it was professional and well maintained. Laura at the front desk was also super friendly and made sure everything was a smooth process. 5 stars!

Came here for the first time today and everyone was so nice! It wasn’t packed at all and we had a blast. We will definitely be coming back.Edit: We keep coming back and always find a great spot at any range. Everyone who works there is very friendly and knowledgeable.

This was my first outdoor shooting range I went to and I didn’t know what to expect. I came to California tactical academy to bore sight and zero in my .308 sniper rifle at 100 yards and the staff was extremely helpful. All the staff were super friendly and I felt very comfortable over there. Tom was my instructor and he showed me how to zero in and boresight he gave me great pointers on how to hit my target and after 3 or 4 shots I was hitting my target at 100 yards, then I started hitting my targets at 200 and 300 yards. Out of all my instructors in previous shooting ranges I will have to say Tom is the BEST out of all of them. I will definitely be coming back here to shoot again and I recommended all my family and friends to go here and I highly recommend everyone to go and check them out!!

This place is great! It's pretty large with lots of space to shoot. There are private range rentals. The staff are friendly and helpful.

A++ experience for a new shooter. Lou and Tom were extremely helpful and welcoming to my family. From aiming tips to sighting in a new optic, Tom made us feel like VIPs. Do not hesitate and take a trip there today!

I was really very pleasantly surprised by how well organized the range was and how many different options you had for targets. I love shooting steel and they have an abundance of steel targets and also was able to side in my hunting rifle on the long range.

Nice range to shoot rifles, particularly, as this is one of only a couple in California that has up to 1000 yards. They offer gun rentals and ammo, or you are free to bring own (non-magnetic). They have a refrigerator with basic drink and food items for sale, but best to pack your own lunch. Staff is very helpful, but limited. Most times I've been on weekdays the range is not very busy.To drive to this location, you will take the 126 freeway for 20 minutes northwest from Santa Clarita, along highway 126, or the same distance east from Santa Paula, and the last 5 minutes of the drive is on a dirt road, so you will need to keep speed slow.

One of the few ranges near Los Angeles to have steel targets out to 1000 yards. Range officers are incredibly helpful, especially Scott, who helped the shooters next to me zero their rifles, and who helped me get hits onto that tiny little 4"x12" silhouette out at 1000 yards.

Great range, steel targets all over the place at varying ranges all the way up to 1000 yards if you’re looking to get into long range shooting this is a decent place to start

Friendly staff, helpful.One of the range officers helped a gentleman zero his brand new Tikka. The range has community spotting scopes with great mechanical dials to find target.

The best range in Ventura County! Rifle range has plenty of steel at various ranges and super cool to have scopes available to use. Pistol range has plenty of satisfying knock-down steel targets. Staff is helpful and friendly…highly recommended!

California Tactical Academy is the best shooting range in the 805. They have targets in all distances from 10-1000 yards. Shot all my guns for fun and sighted in my rifle at the 100yd line of targets. Check it out !

IMHO this is the best outdoor range in Ventura county. It has a nice 100 yard target range and steel targets at 200 and beyond. The Rimfire and pistol range are good too. The staff is very helpful as well.

Drove up for 2 hrs from OC for a booked shotgun class. The instructor was a no show with no reason given. Will definitely not return. Update: never received a refund from CTA, had to file a claim through credit card company.

The best place to shoot in the LA or Ventura County area. Super friendly staff, amazing range with paper and steel as far out or close as anyone would ever want. Friendly staff, a safety equals fun approach. Everyone on the firing line was relaxed and having a good day of shooting. You don’t get that just anywhere.

Excellent range with so many great shooting options...something for everyone! Both the RSOs and the pro shop employees are super helpful and friendly. None of the elitist attitude you get from many other places. $20 to shoot on separate pistol, shotgun, .22 rimfire and long-gun ranges with steel targets out to 1,000 yards?! Shut up, California Tactical Academy, just take my money!
