This place is fantastic!!! The people are so welcoming and make the best drinks. But the best part is the Vegan Breakfast Taco! It is literally the best taco I have ever had. If you are around this area, stop by. You will not be disappointed.Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options and each menu has a vegan option. These people know how to make a vegan taco!

Good spot to stop after visiting Pioneertown. We didn’t really go inside so I can’t rate the bar service. But, the tacos and nachos were great. The atmosphere outside was good. The day we went, a music artist came down from LA and was on the patio singing. I can imagine it being a good spot for residents of JT. We ate under some awning which kept the sun away some.

The vibe on bingo night was 5 stars. Super fun and laid back it was a blast. They make a mean Bloody Mary too. Tacos were kind of meh but it’s still worth visiting for the atmosphere.Kid-friendliness: There were kids in the bar but the music is loud, I wouldn’t bring a baby here.

Wish I could give this place negative stars. It is so overpriced for what you get. The food is not good. The tacos taste like they came out of an under seasoned crockpot. The salsa for the tacos is a hot sauce packet. We waited forever to order because the staff were making small talk with other customers, the music is so loud and then our “food” took forever. The tacos were so small I practically had to shrink my hands to pick them up. We were hungry after spending $63 on lunch for two people. Do not go here. The one thing to note is the lightning margarita is really good. So, maybe go here for drinks, but know that you’ll have to wait and that you will be annoyed.

Nice sort of country-style bar and snack restaurant in the old Western movie set village of Pioneertown, a little north of Yucca Valley, 50 minutes north of Palm Springs, off of HWY 62.There are several beers on draft and in bottles, and also a few wines. A list of small menu items can take care of your stomach growls. The service personnel is friendly and fast, and I had a good time. Be prepared to listen to lots of country music!

Came here after seeing it mentioned on many "must try" lists for the JT area and left severely underwhelmed. We almost left before we even ordered because the bartender kept ignoring us while they chatted with regulars. When we finally got the food, we wished we hadn't. The tacos are tiny (think traditional CDMX street taco size, but priced at $5) and came topped with a couple measly springs of cilantro. The hot sauce was a packet of Valentina. I'm pretty sure the "brisket" was just a cheap cut of chuck roast that was barely seasoned and tasted like it had been sitting in a slow cooker all day. Truly one of the most disappointing meals I've ever had. To add insult to injury, the final bill came out north of $65 for four tacos and two cocktails. We probably should have looked at the receipt more closely because in hindsight, that doesn't seem to add up. A very minor silver lining is the bartender is a good mixologist and knows what he's doing. Bottom line. I'd you eat here, you will spend a lot, the food will suck, and you will leave hungry. Avoid.

What a great little find! My husband and I live in Palm Springs and took his family to Pioneertown on the Monday following Mother's Day on our way to Jashua Tree. We weren't expecting much to be open, but we were pleasantly surprised that there were quite a number of cute shops and the Red Dog Saloon open and well staffed. We ate lunch at The Saloon, enjoying the music. They had a small selection of tasty, well-priced Mexican food available and various cocktail and beer offerings. My husband and I thought it would definitely be fun to bring friends back here on a future evening for a themed cowboy night. Asking the management, they said weekends may close around 11pm-ish and weekdays last call is probably around 9:45pm-ish. They have overflow from Pappy and Harriet's and a good crowd sometimes, especially when they have live bands. The manager said the best place to find out about their upcoming events is their social media. We will do so and be back!!

This place was beyond what I imagined. And the food, YUMMY!! Ordered the brisket tacos and was super impressed with the flavor and tenderness. Also ordered a margarita, or 3! I live in Texas and plan to visit again when I'm back in California!

A fun pace when in Pioneertown - it's loud and if you arrive along with a ton of tourists it's crazy crowded. But there is ample outdoor seating if the weather is nice. The drinks were good, staff was friendly enough while ordering. It's a great place to people watch!

This is a bit biased since I work there as the sound guy. The food is great. I've had almost everything on the menu. Staff is friendly and quick to get your service. Of course, they have live bands on the weekends.Vegetarian options: If you are vegan or on a keto diet, they have options for you.

I love this place. It is a must when I am in the area, and even worth a trip just to go for the experience. The tacos aren't your run of the mill every day tacos, they are more like high end places I have had in LA, NYC, and San Diego. The place has lots of outdoor seating and even heaters. I have seen people DJing vinyl, but also just dropped in for take out and someone was playing country covers, and it wasn't too loud, really just the right volume. I also recommend it for photo ops.Vegetarian options: Vegan and vegetarian friendlyDietary restrictions: Gluten free tortillas available

Had a lovely Mexican inspired breakfast here on my way from 29 palms back to LA. Fresh flavorful black coffee, breakfast burrito and churros. Chill friendly staff and real Wild West atmosphere. Will plan on returning next time I’m in the area.

TL;DR: This saloonas has some of the best cocktails and food I've had the pleasure of eating at a tourist destination.Fantastic find! Me and my friends camping in nearby Black Rock Campground and because of a bum knee we had to scrap our plans and we went sightseeing instead! We headed to Pioneertown, where many old Western and modern movies have been shot. There's a lot of cute shops, and the locals are friendly. At the saloon me and my friends tried their cowboy coffee, Moscow mule, bloody Mary, churros, and tater tots. The bloody Mary was one of the best I'd ever had, made with fresh juices and horseradish. The tatertots came out piping hot and perfectly crunchy on the outside, with a fantastic dipping sauce.Prices were also very reasonable, especially for the drinks! I'm coming back here again next time I'm in the area, for sure!

Great place for Beef Brisket Tacos and Micheladas 👍 on Sunday we took a drive out there and definitely were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have dining out on the patios still practicing Safe social distancing. Clean tables and plenty of hand sanitizer. The Elote was awesome as well. The restaurant sits next to a old movie studio that was built in the 40’s and is still in use today. You can walk around after your meal and check everything out.

Food was decent, particularly the brisket tacos and street corn, but portions are ridiculously tiny for the price. We spent $100 for two people on tacos and quesadillas. Guac was $8 and maybe a 1/4 cup. They also automatically charge 16% service charge even though you order at the bar, pick up the food outside, seat yourself, and even refill your own water...

The Red Dog is an awesome place for food, drinks, and a lively atmosphere! Whether it’s 9pm or noon it always feel like a party. I like all of their tacos, but the brisket or mushroom one is my favorite. Their drinks are excellent, they even make a great Bloody Mary.
