Location is great, in the heart of Pioneertown but the rooms are extremely basic for the hefty pricing of $400/night. For that rate I’m expecting a certain level of luxury; instead we got concrete floors, no hangers, no TV and curtains that don’t fully cover the windows. Towels are very rough and old. We also got a small spider on our bed as a welcome gift. Unfortunately there aren’t any real hotel options in the area hence the hefty up-charge.

This is a great place to stop as a side trip to Twentynine Palms , Barstow or Yucca Valley. Old time motel where lots of movie stars stayed.Gotta love the little eclectic town and bar.

Arrived late in the pouring rain to a very friendly reception (watch your step for puddles in the dark). Rooms are simple (no TV), although the bathroom was good (but the plumbing was audible from the adjacent room). Coffee and tea was available in the room at the end of the row of rooms. Sadly the rain meant no decent views of the sky. Ready access over to Pioneertown for a wander around

A nice rustic-chic option in Pioneertown if you want to add an extra night onto a trip to Joshua Tree. Friendly service and good design in the rooms, also a common area with coffee and bottled water. I think the only downside was that it was a bit pricey at $350- at that price point I guess I’d expect outdoor common areas with gas fire pits, or a pool/hot tub, or maybe just some landscaping in the area between the two rows of rooms. But overall a nice stay- definitely check out the nice hikes within walking distance.

We had a lovely stay here but at the rate of $455 per night we felt the polyester bedding was a disappointment. We also felt it was light on some of the nicer touches you would expect at that price point ie: water glasses in the room rather than plastic cups. The shower was also very small, we thankfully are not big people - 120lbs and any bigger im not how I’d wash my hair… and the towels may as well be hand towels.A fun place to go but not sure that is enough of a reason to charge premium and not deliver.

The Pioneertown motel is a rustic, cozy and modernized take on the classic Western Motel. Stay here and enjoy beautiful starry skies from hammocks, very welcoming staff and the great local bars and shops (be sure to check the days when they are closed.) The only thing is that the rooms are a little hard to temperature control. But apart from that they are cozy, clean and have lovely fixtures.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. In fact we stayed an extra night because we enjoyed it so much. The rooms are basic but well appointed with great shower and local sourced products. The staff are absolutely wonderful and will help you with whatever you need, if they can and also can tell you more about the history of the hotel and the town. One of the best things about the hotel is the fact that you can just sit and watch the stars with very little outside light coming in, and they even have chairs in the room, specifically that you can take out to sit and watch the stars or you can go and have a lay in one of the hammocks that they have available. This is a fantastic experience and we can’t wait to go again.

Didn't really get it, it's not isolated. In the day loads of tourists in the town, on the night decent sky but dark spoilt by all the lights on ground at surrounding properties. Nothing open next day for Breakfast and NO coffee or kettle in the room. Room is basic , I expected boutique hotel quality and some luxury. Floors concrete and very cold and dirty my feet were filthy, no heating in the very tiny bathroom, basic shower. No coat hangers and no blankets in the room. Noisy when all the rooms have heaters/Aircon units on. Also tiny curtains that do not cover windows, you can see in all the rooms. It's a novelty but in no way any hint of luxury or comfort.

Nice refurbished motel in the middle of a desert town, great location and overall experience. Recommended.Stopped here to visit Joshua Three, I wish I stayed longer. Rooms are big, well cleaned (for desert standards and environment) and the mattress here was the comfiest during the whole trip. There are virtually no amenities but a shared kitchen/breakfast area with tables outside that worked perfectly for breakfast.Big Bonus here, you can stargaze In the courtyard over their hammocks 100ft from your room or bring their chairs to the end of the property.

Stayed here on a quick business trip. Quaint motel in Pioneer Town California. Rustic old cabins, no frills , concrete floors, rough cut wood doors, western themed all located about 2 hours from Los Angeles. You have to like the desert, critters and limited internet. Lay on one of the outdoor hammocks and enjoy the abundance of stars not seen in the hustle and bustle of city life. Nice little getaway, affordable, full of charm and character. Not the Ritz Carlton but I think thier overrated anyway. Cool place everyone should visit at least once.

This place is spectacular. Walking distance to everything pioneertown has to offer. Adorable, clean, and very thoughtful of them to have lawn chairs for you to sit outside and star gaze with. I just wish the little fireplace in our room worked! I will definitely be staying here again.

I couldn’t ask more, reallyEverything was great, the bed was so comfortable, restroom was super clean and even the smell of soap was fantastic. You already know it’s located in middle of desert but the room and window were spotless, super clean. You could lay dawn on the bed and enjoy the beautiful sky through the window. It’s only 12 miles aways from the Joshua park visitor center which also big plus.Oh, one thing I should mention that because of the fire, they temporarily not open the

This place is amazing. As a launching point for all manner of desert adventures and road tripping fun, you can't go wrong staying here. You can walk to the picturesque main street and shop-stroll your way along the strip there. The nearby Pappy and Harriet's is walkable too, and honestly, the food is delicious, the drinks delightful, and the space is a ton of fun. They get real busy at times, but the staff are real pros, and the beer is cold and delicious. The motel rooms straddle the past and the present very well, beautifully updated stylistically and wonderful new bathrooms allow you to immerse yourself in some vintage charm while living with modern comforts. The staff here are great folks too and will build you a fire out front to complete your stay. Truly a treat, Pioneertown Motel delivers!

If you are heading to Joshua Tree, Pioneertown Motel is the perfect destination to not only rest your head but to explore. The hotel staff was kind, accessible, and informative. The rooms are western-themed with a comfortable bed, excellent bathroom with a surplus of amenities, and one of the best showers I ever experienced in a hotel room (no tv in the room but did not bother us much). There were protocols put in place for sanitation and cleanliness which we appreciated. The location is picturesque and quite kitschy but in a good way (right next to an old western movie set turned commerce center). Stargazing at night on the property's hammocks was definitely a highlight of the whole stay. Walking distance from the hotel is a delicious restaurant which was very convenient for a stay and satisfied our post-hike hunger. Overall, highly recommend staying at this hotel for a one of a kind experience that engulfs you in all of what this area has to offer. It's the most perfect romantic getaway for my husband and I.

Super cute hotel in the crazy preserved/recreated Far West setting of Pioneertown. Rooms are nicely refurbished and comfy, and staff was very attentive. Be sure to stop at the reception / main office for unique goodies and souvenirs!

It was ok, it’s a cool place with nice staff. We arrived late and nowhere were we informed prio to our stay that nothing around Pioneertown had open for food or drinks Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Nothing at the hotel. So we had to drive back to see what still had open around Joshua tree… Would be nice to get some kind of heads up or maybe even a microwave or something. To After getting to our room, which was really nice and spacious. But could have been cleaner. Dirty floor (found a raisin under my nightstand) and there was a half take-our burrito in our fridge and the room smelled just like that as well unfortunately.Nice extra with being able to sit outside and look at the stars. Good coffee in the morning to grab at the cantina. I also liked their lotion and soaps! So much that I bought one at checkout. Informed the mister at the reception about the food and smell, he apologized. Which was all. Had somehow expected more.Wish we could have enjoyed our stay more. Considering the price as well. Opening hours of the „town“ should be much clearer, we surely had planned our trip differently. No reply on my booking.com message that I sent days before check in.

Pioneertown CA is a great wild west themed place. Kept well preserved, showing you how it was back in the 1940's when westerns started filming there. The Motel is right in the heart of it.... With a great rustic appearance - a recent & very well done remodeling in the rooms, made my stay very enjoyable. Make sure you check out the cowboy hats available. Sitting outside with all the stars at night was so relaxing. Highly recommend.

Being a 'coastal' person myself, I love to get away and sniff the clear winter desert air. And no better place to enjoy this than at the Pioneertown motel. A wonderful location, not even so much for the Western Movie Town set-up, but the great welcoming staff at the unique reception, the comfortable funky rooms. Been there a few times now, combining it with dining and a concert at next-door Pappy and Harriet's, and certainly coming back. Recommending it to, and bringing, our friends. Hiking and walking in the hills with Joshua trees. Just great! Greetings from the Netherlands.
