What a fun time walking around Pioneer Town! It’s free, dog friendly & the photo ops are endless! There’s a saloon (a real one!) and a few shops…including a pottery store & a film museum to check out! Plenty of free parking ~ It’s the desert, so bring water, and consider visiting before the heat of the afternoon! We were there in December and the weather was fantastic! Definitely worth a stop if you’re road tripping in the area…and bring the dogs! Pennie & Joe had fun and so will you! 🐾🐾

Just a short drive from Joshua Tree, this quaint desert town is an absolute gem. It effortlessly captures the essence of an old-country desert 🏜️, immersing you in a distinct and charming atmosphere. The warm hospitality of the staff in various shops enhances the experience, and strolling down the Main Street is a delightful way to soak in the unique charm of this hidden desert haven.

Always fun to go there. The setting for many movies, this is an attraction the whole family will enjoy any time of year.Park your car, wander in, no charge, and step back in time.Be sure to stop at film museum to see films made there.Stores open...pottery western clothes and fresh high-desert air.

Cool western movie set. Movie museum on site has information on previous movies that were filmed there. Plenty of shops to buy trinkets. Awesome place for pics. No drones allowed.I always make this part of my yucca valley road-trip. So many other spots to see right around here.Free/ample parking.

NO STAR but it makes you put at least one to post which is bull. This Place is a joke the owners of the place doesn't live in California, but nickel a dime everyone. Even the locals that live in walking distance. That they try to charge you over $1,000 to just take only a few photos with your cell phone with your child and there horse for graduation. I will make sure I tell everyone that it's not worth their time to go to have someone come and yell at you. The people there that approached are very unprofessional and used fail language. There are many young children and families around that it was uncalled for how they acted. And for the person that approached to act the way they did with a child on a horse. Coming over full speed on a motor bike. Very unprofessional and uncalled for. I will never be back and make sure everyone I know never visits this location. Not worth your time and safety with your family with the language from the ones that supposedly work on Main Street.

Such an odd place. We did show up randomly on a weekday in January and it was fun to look at this "active Western movie set". But a few minutes in, we realized that most of the establishments were closed. Those that were open were cool, from a thrifty shop to a soap and lotion place to a pottery studio. Worth stopping in and gawking if you are near. Hopefully you visit when there are things going on!

This is a great free place to check out. I can’t believe the negative reviews, what a bunch of whiners! Life is what you bring to it. Choose your attitude.Park your car near the restaurant, and start with the little museum that has a short video on the history of the street. It’s Mane (as in horse 🐴 mane) Street, not Main Street. 😆Then slowly walk all the way down to the post office and back again.Enjoy your life and each precious breath you get to take.Get off your high horse and get over your first world problems.

Neat little town to explore near Joshua Tree. The drive up is scenic and parking was free on a Monday afternoon.

A fun little escape into a bygone time. I enjoyed walking around and bought several items. (The lady who does all the bunny art has an especially cool shop!). I wish you could at least look into the windows of the old bowling alley but they had all stairs to it ribboned off. Get a few extra steps and go check out the post office (which still operates) and the sheriff's office.

I first went two weeks ago. Needed a quick escape from LA. This amazing small town is perfect if you need to pump the brakes. Just over two hours outside LA. The beauty of this town has brought me back twice in one month. Joshua trees, rocky hills, and the simplicity of the desert is tranquil. Come out for a day trip, you are missing out if you don't! Grab a bit to eat at Pappy & Harriets!
