An excellent spot hardly 5 mins walk away from Pinecrest lake. They have good restrooms and the campsites can accommodate a couple of cars and pretty big tents. There are a lot of pine trees in the campsites which is perfect for tying hammocks and provides a ton of shade. They also sell firewood at the campground and also across the road at the general store. There's also an open air theater nearby showing a lot of Disney movies.

We enjoyed this campground, but it is quite full. Most of the sites you're right next to your neighbors. Everyone seemed to observe quiet hours. Check-in was easy, and the bathrooms had running water and soap! Was interesting the campsites had no bear box...but the info they gave us said it's bear country and can be fined for baiting a bear, so that seems ill-prepared & ill-advised.Not too far of a walk to the lake but mid-week there is plenty of parking right at the lake so we didn't walk there but drove.

Wonderful place to camp. Camping spots are far enough away from others and some are pretty private. Be sure to bring Off spray for mosquitoes. It gets chilly at night so bundle upRestrooms: They are cleanDog-friendliness: Yes but there are active bears so bring at own discretion.

Really spacious camping spots, clean potable water, flushable toilets which are cleaned regularly. The trail was also pretty decent with a path going over a dam which was cool. Lake water is nice and can even go for a swim. The edges of the lake have damp soil which gets messy so be wary of that. There is also an amphitheater which shows 🎥 . Folks seemed to adhere to silent hours- 10 to 6.Overall, A nice place to spend the weekend with friends and family.

Great place for car camping. Water is not brutally cold. Sites are big enough. General store won’t make you take a second mortgage to afford something you forgot. Ice cream at the beach is always nice as well. Kids love camping here. Also fun to take a stroll around the lake. For bigger kids a hike up to Cleo’s Bath is very fun. But please take care of it and don’t leave your trash. Movies at night in the outdoor theater make this a perfect summer camping destination.

We actually said less than a half a mile from the pinecrest campground . So beautiful and touristy at the same time. Gets packed fairly quickly. And is a first come first served location. Great attractions from the man made beach, trails, grocery store restaurant and little food hut and truck. One of the best ice cream cones I’ve ever had ranging from $4-$5 dollars. Small or large. Camping was peaceful and clean area. $34 day with hostess onsite. Looking forward to returning soon

This was our first visit and we really enjoyed it. The sites sit among tall trees and everything smells so good. The lake is only a short walk from the campground. The downside is it is very popular so it's tough to get a spot in the summer. And the roads are very narrow, so maneuvering our travel trailer through the campground wasn't easy.

Visited this place last week and it was one of our best camping experiences. The camping spots are big with lots of shade and are accessible to fresh drinking water. The washroom was in a very good condition as well. We will certainly visit this place again.Restrooms: Flush toilets and kept clean

Great place to hang out by the lake with friends and family. You can do the hike around the lake it's a medium level hike. They have boats to rent. There also is cabins and camping grounds to stay at. You should book 6 months in advance. It's gets pretty packed in the summer time. It's only 1hr and 30min away from Riverbank. You will enjoy your time at this lake. It has a lot to offer.

Was pretty quiet when I went in the end of August. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the pandemic and fires. Less crowded beach area and lake and trials. Didn't feel like it use too. But it was a well needed trip...

Pinecrest has a special place in my heart. Great camping location - dog friendly, roomy campsites with bathrooms close by, gorgeous hike around the lake, dedicated marina with rentals, and conveniently-located market, food, and coffee.

Beautiful way to spend a family trip! The beach was nice and clean with a beautiful view and clean water. We had so much fun here for our first time . We did a small hike but not to far due to family not being able to. THe snack bar was awesome especially since we didnt bring enough, just pricey but worth it. You can also rent boats which we will try out next time.

Great campsite with a close by market that stocks firewood & smores. The campsite is very large, and easily fit our 6 person tent + a few others. Only downside is that the site is very crowded and often booked out. I recommend constantly checking for cancellations if the site is booked out.

Today, I drove to Pinecrest & hiked the trail around the lake. Took this ol gal 5 hours & I was tired, pooped! It’s a popular trail - dogs, kids, everyone, with some litter here & there. And, next time, I’m bringing 3 liters of water & snacks & a littler bag! The water fountains at the bathrooms were down & the bathroom was closed at the halfway point on the trail. But, it was beautiful all the same.

I stayed at Pinecrest May 3rd weekend. Campsite A017.The campsite itself was great, I was able to hand up a hammock. However the campsite next to me was a tad bit close, but not too shabby. I was able to watch the meteor shower without any issues.I did notice they didn't enforce dogs on leashes since I had a few dogs come to my campsite, they weren't bothering me but it just seemed weird to have dogs roam around. They definitely had owners since I saw where they ended up going. The washrooms were nice, they had garbage cans close by. It was also nice to have a restaurant and store in walking distance. One night I decided not to cook so I walked to the restaurant and had a steak.

My family has been camping at the Pinecrest campground for generations, which is means there is a wonderful reason we keep coming back. Pinecrest is home to gorgeous scenic views, a freshwater mountain fed lake full of delicious fish (make sure to have your license), and plenty of outdoor activities for all.

Pinecrest is great. Hiking around the lake takes about 2 hours. You can venture further up the mountain to Cleo's bath, where the snow run of feeds the lake. There's a good beach/swim area. Boats can be rented for cruising around. It's also great that there is a speed limit, so no wake boarding or water skiing keeps wakes and traffic low. Outdoor movie night is fun, ice cream from the store is a nightly ritual. Items at the store are a little expensive, but it's the only store for miles..... supply and demand....Yes, this place is POPULAR, and during peak season is nearly impossible to get into last minute. You are allowed 2 vehicles and 2 tents per site, or 1 vehicle, 1 tent and a camper. With no more that 6 people per site. The reason it can seem over crowded is due to the HUGE tents, extra vehicles, and extra stuff that people bring. Certain sites are huge and can acomodate large tents, barbecues, multiple pop up canopy etc. Other sites are more confined and would be best for a couple do tents and 2 suv's. Leave your long bed deseil truck at home unless you get a site that can accommodate it! Book in advance, and ask how big the site is!

Pinecrest campground has been our spot for 15 yrs now, we go once a year and stay for at least 5days, anything shorter is depriving your inner child of playtime. The sites are always clean at check in and the restrooms are maintained accordingly, be sure to report any unruly guests, we had too last time just to keep it clean, kids were having a wet toilet paper war in one of the RR. Remember you can't control the weather and you can't pick your neighbors, so enjoy the stay as best you can, do your research on peak visit/camping days, weather/ fire/road conditions. Check the website for rules and regulations. Cheers.

Beautiful scenic area. Campgrounds are clean and well spaced. Short walk to beach and other amenities.campsites are dog friendly, however, beach area is not. That doesn't make sense. Good day use areas with picnic tables and free parking. Will camp there again.

Pinecrest campgrounds are unique and breathtaking. The campgrounds are nice sized and provide a good table. There is easy access to a general store nearby and Pinecrest lake which provides a 3.9 mile hike. Overall a good place for camping. They have janitors out early in the morning to maintain cleanliness. The space is remarkable.Picnic area: The campgrounds provide a table for eating or other activities

First time at Pinecrest, 4 nights Wednesday to Sunday. I woud go back. In the B loop which was a 10 minute or so walk to the lake (far enough away not to hear the movies) but a reasonable walk. I had fairly decent cell service with Xfinity mobile, Verizon was okay as well. Others had no service. There was definitely little bits of trash left around the site (bottle caps, wrappers, etc.) so we did our best to leave it better than we found it. While there were fewer people there on Wednesday it was actually the noisiest night due to a large group that was up late talking somewhat loudly. Otherwise, no noise issues. There are no showers. The bathrooms are unlit and were clean enough, but by the weekend they had run out of soap and it was never restocked. The beach area is cute and was fairly empty Wednesday - Friday, but on Saturday it was PACKED. There's a food truck, ice cream stand with some other quick bites and a general store so supplies/food are easily had. Ice and firewood right at the station where you check-in. Do the hike around the lake, it's quite lovely. Rented a motoboat which was fun to take out. Stopped at Dodge Ridge on the way out for lunch and so that the kids could burn some energy at the bouce house and climbing wall - which was cute.
