20240321 (Thursday) First time driving through since new owners and slope enhancements have been done. Absolutely stunning day. What a joy to see the parking with quite a few cars, chairs running, and folks coming down on snowboards, skis, and some cross-country folks out too.Enjoy!! Great job to the Dodge Ridge management for all the obvious improvements drawing people up on a Thursday between snow events. Wishing much success ❄️😎⛄️🌲☕️🔥

Modern Lodges, ample parking, family-friendly front side, and a challenging backside with enough terrain to explore and enjoy. The grooming is great, the staff is friendly and the skiing is fantastic. Great ski area.

Great rides and trails, kids group lessons for half or full day, private lessons, good choice of food, comfortable place to change clothes, plenty of restrooms and water stations. Good resort with a closest proximity to Bay Area.

Plenty of parking. Is not open for the reason right now but a great place to drop by and rest. Ski lessons, repair shop, gear shop and a spacious cafe. Feel like it gets everything you need for a skiing vacation.

Updated 1/17/2024:Dodge Ridge finally opened on 1/5/2024. We went to ski on 01/15. Traffic was all backed up to hwy 108, and we were stuck for 100 minutes. Finally arrived at 10:40am (lift opens 9am). Why? Because Dodge Ridge would not sweep the last mile, and the road was covered in ice and snow. 2wd cars had to stop in the middle to put on chains.Spent another 90 minutes to get out. No one to direct traffic and again, road condition was so icy for the last mile that cars were moving very slowly.Photos taken 1/16/2024 when road condition naturally got better than 1/15/2024. You can see that only preferred parking (paid parking) area was cleaned, but free parking space was left with ice and snow. Asked guest service to clean the snow. They said yes but no action taken when we left on 1/16 at 4pm.Posted 12/28/2023: Greedy owners who don't care about clients and just want to gauge their money. We bought season passes for 2023/2024 at Dodge Ridge and they were closed. We paid $447 by phone to upgrade 3 passes to Cali Pass in order to ski elsewhere. We thought that's it. NO. We had to pay $45 a day, or spend 4 hours to pick up physical pass at Dodge Ridge. So we shelled out an additional $537 to ski for 2 days at Bear Valley 12/28 and 12/29 as Dodge Ridge remained closed.Bye bye Dodge Ridge! No return business from us.

This is hard to beat when skiing with your family and kids. There is something for everyone here, from your black diamond skier to your kids just starting out. What we loved the most was the amount of skiing we got in because there were almost no lines with recent fresh powder and good snow conditions. The main purpose of our trip was to teach our five and seven year olds how to ski. It’s hard to imagine a better place for that, where the runs are wide and uncrowded They had reasonable lift ticket prices for beginners and this is what first drew us in. They had a few good length runs for beginners including a beginner terrain park. Our kids spent two whole days improving their skills and loving every minute. There is a lodge where you can purchase a meal and another lodge with a large fireplace where you could bring your own lunch or even work remotely very comfortably. The WiFi worked great. The parking was close and curb side drop off/ pick up was easy, even with the kids and their gear. My spouse then walked the 5 minutes into the lodge. We’d never been here and had some concerns about the road conditions due to the remote location and recent snow. The roads were plowed, traveled on and much better than expected. We did have 4x4 and traveled with snow chains just in case.I did witness three separate ski instructors speak pretty harshly to different 4-6 year old children patiently waiting in line for the magic carpet. I did not love it and eventually said something. Seems like they need to set up the ski school on the second magic carpet. Otherwise, the staff was great. We’ve skied many of the big resorts for the past decade. It’s hard to imagine going back to overcrowded runs and standing in lines at other resorts when options like this exist. This place was a treat and we will most definitely be back.

Whether it’s skiing or mountain biking Dodge Ridge offers fun for all skill levels. The resort is well staffed and can meet your needs whether it’s the delicious food in the food services or equipment from the pro shop they are well stocked with the best brands of ski and bike equipment along with expert techs to get you out if the shop and onto the mountain. There is plenty of parking and shuttle services are offered in winter. Finally the mountain itself is absolutely beautiful. Whether the mountain is green or white the views are breathtaking.

This review will be slightly skewed because of the snow conditions at the time, but it's an honest review. Because of the lack of snow at this elevation, we were excited that a local store told us that Dodge Ridge was open for tubing. My two kids were looking forward to it. When we arrived the lines weren't too bad, maybe 6 people in front of us to get tickets. When we got to the front we were told that tubing was "sold out" but something "might open up" if we waited 2-3 hours. That seemed like a non starter. Their other option was, "snow play" for $15/person. I reluctantly agreed to that as a consolation. After signing a waiver and going outside with wrist bands, the kids went to the, assigned "snow play" area. It took all of 3 minutes for them to realize it was too crowded and not enough snow for it to be any fun for them. My 12 year old told me it was a scam. To their credit, Dodge Ridge employees were very hospitable and gave us a refund. We ended up pulling over on the side of the road and the kids played in the little bit of snow available for free. I completely understand the business relies on good snow weather for business and they're doing what they can to keep open and pay employees, but the, "snow play" seemed like a grift. The facility and employees seemed nice and we will return, just hopefully when there's better conditions.

Just moved to Ca and this is the closest resort that rents SnoGo’s which is pretty sweet. Staff is super helpful, plenty of variety in slopes, food/bar service is fast.Just bought a season pass 🤙

Went twice to ski there. Wednesday was great, minimal crowd, while Saturday was packed and parking was terrible. Had to walk long distance. I recommend arriving early on weekends. We went with two kids that are beginners and they had perfect hills for them. We only used easy rides #2 and #6. Lodge with food is close by, overall great experience except parking.

My husband and I tried our very first ski lesson here and we had a great time. The instructors were amazing, we learnt a lot in just 2 hours. The instructor also gave individual attention to the people who were finding it difficult. The lines are short. The beginner friendly slopes are amazing for first timers. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly. We had a great time.

The lift ride up to the top really builds anticipation for what lies ahead... And it's amazing thru and thru. Very dramatic mountain style course with big distance, and big elevation. Will be back soon for the mountain biking trails too. Can't wait!

Dodge Ridge was excellent especially the Staff and Ski Instructors. Somehow I messed up on registering my kids for lessons one was only registered for 10am class on Saturday the other 3 for Monday🤦‍♀️they were very kind and let me put them all in the afternoon class even though it was full. One of my kids lost her sunglasses so she was not able to get lessons, rather than to lose the money they gave me a gift card to use at the Resort for the total value that was awesome so ski lifts, lessons etc.All in all it was a good day at the resort all the kids had a great time. The wine was excellent 👌 🙌

We had fun at dodge ridge ski resort and all the staff was nice and helpful our only HUGE complaint was parking was horrible and unorganized To say the least and our only huge suggestion is get there EARLY I mean before 8am (opens at 9-4) otherwise you may not find parking AT ALL ! also if tubing they sell out quickly the day we arrive sold out before 11:30am for the day !and getting out was also bad as only one lane in/out .

Awesome place to enjoy the amazing journey of skiing and snowboarding without the insane cost associated with the Tahoe experience.

We went on a Friday and stayed on the mountain basically all day till the lifts shut down. The snow was pretty good, the lift lines were pretty short, and the weather was beautiful. The new RFID gates were pretty nice as well.

I took my girlfriend here for her Birthday and was not disappointed. We purchased begginers snowboarding lessons in advance. Our instructor, Greg, was wonderful! He really knew how to cater to each persons learning needs in our class of 8. I'd definitely recommend him to my friends.I will say you MUST show up at least an hour early for your class. We showed up 20min early, but with parking and filling out wavers, we missed our class by 10min for our 10:00 class. We still needed to get fitted and pick up our boots, helmet, and board. They were able to push us to a 1:00 class but said they wouldn't always be able to.I kinda enjoyed being pushed because we missed the line for gear since we were now early for our next class.

Do NOT go on a long weekend, especially when it snows, when everyone and their mom want to join in the fun but the parking area is just not enough to accommodate the sea of people coming in. We were stuck just a mile away from the resort for 1 hour both times. All lines at each of the conveyors and lifts were too long. The staff is very friendly, and were so helpful given the amount of work they had to put up. Food was served hot in spite of the rush, which was nice.

Great family ski resort. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful. Can get very crowded, driving in, parking, lines for lower lifts, and leaving. Recommend going to the back lifts as lines are much shorter. Really nice blue runs. The black looked good from the lifts, though I did not do any of them though

The older family members skied. The younger ones took sking lessons from a very patient, kind instructor. It was very windy, cold, and snowing most of the day. Everyone was proud of their skiing accomplishments. The rental ski workers were helpful and thorough. At the end of the day, everyone was happy and content. Thank everyone, especially the janitors and front entrance workers who signed us in with smiling , good-natured people.

Our family of 4 usually heads to this resort for ski season. It has a decent number of runs for beginners. Its proximity to the bay area is desirable as well. With the new management taking over, I see that they are upgrading their system for a better experience. It can get crowded over the long weekends, though.

Its been over 5-10 years(?) since I've visited and I've got a new love for the resort. The bottom is packed with new riders so it can get really busy but chair 5/7/8 was pretty dope! Definitely coming back. Tahoe is dope but this is closer to home (Modesto) especially since we mostly do day trips. The only thing I dislike are their old slow lifts. Have that play list ready because you'll be spending a lot of time on each lift. I hear they do plan on adding high-speed lifts and when that happens it'll be a game changer.Something new with the resort is that the season pass allows you to visit not only dodge but Sierra at Tahoe and China Peak too

I completely loved this place. Multiple levels skiing lessons for kids and adults. The charges are reasonable compared to Lake Tahoe and other skiing place. I would suggest to not purchase lift tickets for first timers. That's expensive and also you may not be able to get to mountains in first trial. Rest is all above average. A must visit. Please carry the tire chains.

I had the most AMAZING ski lesson with JJ!!! I learned so much in such a short time! The mountain was great for me as a beginner/intermediate snowboarder and skier! Came on a Tuesday and felt like I had the whole place to myself!!!

The place is nice and it offers many different activities like tubbing, snow shoeing and cross country ski. The only problem was that it was very busy during the long weekend and the bathrooms were very messy.

Best slopes in the area! Plenty of lifts meaning losts of runs. Very well groomed and taken care of. Check out the website for events like live music and or swallum races. Popular eatery serving burgers and dogs half way up the mountain without having to return to the main lodge is a plus.A couple hiccups in the experience would be that parking fills up fast. So be sure to arrive before 9am (opening time). Also if you prefer demo ski's (faster & more maneuverable, used to be only $10 more) they don't include boots in the price anymore 😕 with that said the cost has jumped to $104 vs what it was $64 and $54 for the regular boots + skis. Recommend an alternate source or purchase your own at this point.

Probably the easiest drive from the bay area. Renting gear/buying a dayticket can take long. Order tickets ahead. Rented my gear from Oakies in Oakdale along the way to save time being in line in the morning. The park itself is very outdated, lifts come in hard and sway and there are no safety bars. No footrests on any of the lifts so be prepared for foot cramps if you're a boarder. This resort will be at its best after heavy snowfall when you could go all over the Granite Bowl area. On my trip it hadn't snowed in weeks so very bummed I had to stick with the groomed slopes. The bar and kitchen area are nice and easy. Awesome place for my very first Corndog. As a European I was very underwhelmed by the resort itself but still had a great time.
