Really laid back campground. Sites are nicely spaced apart and large. Other campers were quiet. My friends and I had 2 sites side by side and there was room for 5 cars. We set up 3 tents, used the fires, and the picnic tables. Pit toilets were as to be expected - decently clean. Running water at the sites. Dog friendly. Roads were nice for bike riding too.Restrooms: Pit toilets were as to be expected - decently clean.Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome

$14 a night. Great for tent, van and small trailer. Level and shades spots. First come first serve. Quiet. Close to San Diego. No power or sewer. Shared water so fill tanks or bring long hose. Gets sunny to charge solar. Along Pacific Crest Trail. Ideal for ebike base camp. New picnic tables, fitepits and restrooms. Great stargazing. No cell service but 5 min drive away to get it. No nearby stores, so don't forget anything.

It was a nice and beautiful place. Green. Cannot swim in the ponds. Not safe!Lots of land for hiking. Beautiful view!$28.00 per night in double spaces. We stay in the middle of the campsite. It was big, but it has a LOT of wasps, but we can manage to enjoy 2 nights.

Great campsite, usually empty depending on the time of year. It’s fun talking to the eclectic groups of people here, or the pct hikers. Some fun off road trails surrounding the area, I’ve gone a few times with some water around. But that’s not often. Everywhere here is usually respectful and cleans up after themselves. It’s awesome to know this is In our backyard. Hope they open it up to be able to take the off road trails to mount laguna.

Nice, quiet campground about an hour East of San Diego. Campsites ares spaced out and all well kept. no trash at all, no fallen branches or stinky trashcans. Vault toilets are about as clean as you can get for a campsite. a stream runs through the camp which is nice to fall asleep to. Definitely recommend this site.

This is a great campsite. 14 dollars for the single sites for the night. Very well maintained. They have bathrooms at the site. Small creek run nears the camping area. It's also next to the pacific crest trail. Fire rings and table at the sites as well. This is one of my favorite camping areas. Great views all around especially when it gets snow.

Great hikes here and a lovely little campground! The bathrooms are clean and the times I have been there they are stocked with toilet paper. I have actually been here twice with my boyfriend and we both love it! There are a lot of good hikes in the area, be sure to watch for snakes and wear plenty of sunscreen. ❤️

Awesome little tucked away campground. First come first serve bases. Tons of shaded spots. Very clean pit toilets and running water. This campground is so well taken care of. Can’t wait to stay here again.

Camp site 10 is my favorite at the end of the campground. Big oak trees and accessible tables were nice to work off of. Bathroom was newly cleaned painted and very nice & well stocked. PCT right next to the camp w/ great hiking and supper views. Go there and stay it's a SD county jewel.

First come first serve, and we always find a spot. In June of 2022 it is $14 a night. Fire rings with emergency water provided to drown your fire.*Pit toilets.*Great camp host.*Log in and walk to the PCT (Pacific Coast Trail)!*Traces of water in the creek.Caution: cell service is low or non-existent. No T-Mobile. There are a few bars of service atbthe trailhead off the main road before you come down to the campground.**Fun to watch the many flying insects at the creek. We have seen a silver fox here, and a snake. Squirrels rule the grounds. The birds sing beautifully in the morning!*Use and herbal bug spray to keep the flys away during the day.

I had a great two night camp out at Cibbets Flat this time around. It was a solo adventure, and I got a little over 17 mi in hiking completed. Part of which was on the PCT. I love the fact this campground has running water on it, in the pit toilets work just fine. It's a great campground if you're not into glamping but like a few amenities. This is quickly become my go-to campground for myself and for my kids. There's not a lot of trails in the area that you can just walk to, but there's enough for me.

This is such a sweet spot. I camped for a week and hiked parts of the PCT. Met some wonderful people camping, people day hiking and section hikers of the PCT. It's clean and well maintained by the camp hosts Tim and Kathy. I saw the local grey fox and many birds. Lots of little hikes for the kiddos. I even met Lindsey, Clevelands new lady in charge. Everyone was very pleasant and informative of the local area. This is a must on the list for camping and hiking! Fantastic stargazing and sunsets. I highly recommend!

Nice and quiet. There were only three other campers when I was there, mid Oct. Hiked the dogs up Fred Canyon Rd for a couple of miles, nice, easy hike. There's a trail also leading out of the CG, up the creek. It's fairly well marked, but dense, and I don't know how far up it goes. The pics are of my dogs on that creek trail.

Been going here for 8 years now, my favorite campground. First come first serve, no cell service. All spots are shaded with the exception of one in the back. 25 spots I believe, they will accommodate about a 27 ft rv, most spots can fit up to 4-5 tents. No showers, bathrooms are standard hole in the ground but they are usually clean. The camp host is friendly and rarely ever comes out. There is no firewood for sale so bring your own. The nearest store is pine valley about 10 miles away.

Great place to camp. Spring time is the best. Fred canyon road to the P.C.T. Pit toilets. Water and tables at camp sites.

Good campsite with decent amenities and potable water... But holy smokes there were some wild creepy crawlies at our site - at night there were ants the size of my thumbnail, a bunch of huge spiders, and some weird beetles. Bugs are normal outside, but these ones were nuts and unsettling!Restrooms: Pit toilets available. Pretty clean, but stinky as usual.

Great little campground with easy access to trails, a stream, clean bathrooms and nice fire pits. This was my first time to Cibbets Flats, but I've camped at many other San Diego area campgrounds. The campground was far enough away from major roads that there was zero traffic noise, but no issues for any vehicle in our group to get to camp (all paved roads) the camp sites have enough space so that you're not feeling jammed next to people you don't know. There are no reservations here, it's first come, first serve for spots. We had no problem arriving at noon on a Saturday to find two spots next to each other. For $15/day/spot it can't be beat. Be sure to bring your wilderness pass to display in your windshield for parking.

Beautiful campground. Lots of trees around for shade. Very well maintained, affordable, great weather, and the sky at night is gorgeous. Bring your own firewood as there's not much dead wood to scavenge. Bathrooms are clean and close by, and each campsite has its own running water spigot. Bugs are minimal. Located right next to some great hiking spots. First come first serve, so come early.

Hidden gem. Clean and plenty of shade. Lots of active wildlife around, especially at night. Right off the PCT. Spent around 5 weekends here in 2022, all throughout the year. Just a fantastic spot. Hot in the summer, cold in the winter. In fact, it just snowed there yesterday 02/26/23.Cash only, $14/night for a single site.

Uncrowned. Water at camp site. Volt toilets were fairly clean. Reasonable fees. Shade trees. Short hike to the PCT. I would go there again.

This is one of the many campgrounds I use when camping in the Cleveland National Forest. It is a primitive campground with vault toilets, water, picnic tables, and a fire ring..Easy access, it is only a couple miles off Interstate 8 and paved highway to the entrance. The best part is the price - only $14 per night. A great site only an hour away from San Diego..The Pacific Crest Trail runs by the campground and you may see PCTers on the trail or at the campground. Lots of flowers in the springs and several hiking trails nearby.

Stayed here for the first time the other night and can't wait to go back. From a secret swimming hole to pct hikers and beautiful shaded campsites with running water, firepits, and clean bathrooms... what more could you want within an hours drive (give or take) of San Diego? Bonus! They are also dog friendly 🐶, leashed of course 😉Each campsite has ample parking for 2 cars or a vehicle with a small trailer. You will need an adventure pass or one of the other forestry service passes to park your vehicle at the campground. Stop in Pine Valley at the market and get the annual pass for only $30 or $5/day on your way. Camping is first come, first serve and is $14/day or $28/day for double sites.I arrived the first day after a long weekend and for the first night it was only myself and a small family near the entrance. Talk about quiet! I believe there is a host family on site though I never met them. I could go on and on but you really need to go see for yourself. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely love this place! Quiet, well kept, lots are spaced out great and it has a small creek running through the grounds. A quick 5 min hike and you can find some nice watering holes to dip in and cool off in warmer weather. Its a wonderful hidden gem and I can't wait to go back!

Quiet, isolated. You wanna get away from the hustle and bustle where almost no one could find you? Then this is for you. Many camping sites. I saw the camp areas numbered up to about 22 +. 4 bathrooms, no showers. First come basis pay on the honor system. Forest Rangers check daily for payments. I saw a family get kicked out because the camp host says they were there 16 days plus they had not paid up, (14 days max).Surrounded by mountains you are in a valley like setting. They are hiking trails around if you like. Nice get away!
