My stay here this weekend was phenomenal. The service was exceptional and everyone was very kind and helpful. We loved the front staff who helped us and the employees in the restaurant. They were so funny and genuine and the food was amazing! I highly recommend staying here and enjoying the positive atmosphere. Our cabin was cozy and had a nice patio to relax in. I will definitely be coming back soon!

Had an excellent stay at this hotel. Every little detail (amenities, sheets, snacks in the room) had been though of and was taken care of to a high standard. The rooms were very nice, and there was also a lot of little spaces to enjoy around the property. The Wickson restaurant was excellent with service to match. Maybe my favorite Caesar Salad ever? The Bohemian Chemist shop was beautiful, the advice was very helpful, and the products were high quality. There were a lof of wonderfun things to see and do in the area. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to go back soon.

Stunning property, surrounded by beautiful wine country. The staff from the Bohemian Chemist was very nice, thank you Debbie. And the owners Jim and Brian very welcoming. This is the perfect place to just disconnect and enjoy nature. Can't wait to come back with more time!If you like cannabis and wine they also have both a dispensary and a wine tasting room.Walkability: There are nice small trails in the brambles, this property is also part of an Indian reservation. So there is day use for the woods next to the madrones as well.

My wife & I stayed for our honeymoon and for the price paid (a little over three hundos per night) it was clean and pristine, modern and chic compared to other places you can stay in the area. We stayed at The Master -- definitely the one you wanna book for you and your partner. Don't forget to stop by the nearby wine bar Disco Ranch, the name sounds interesting but it's really the most chill wine bar with quite the knowledgable owner.

This is one of the coolest hotels I have ever stayed. Owner is a current / former designer and each room of the main hotel has a distinct theme and the bed is fantastic. There is another part of the hotel that is on a separate piece of land right next to it called the Brambles. These are former cabins for the loggers, but have been renovated and provide a great space for a small family or couple. Located right next to a Grove of redwoods forest for early-morning hikes and easy access to the wine country of Anderson Valley. Madrones is located in a small town called Philo. There are very limited food choices in the immediate area. But make sure you try the on-site restaurant. The food is fantastic, Field to table, and pizza is cooked in a real brick oven. Awesome wine list as well. You will find several wine producer tasting stores on site as well.

What a beautiful property! Booked a room in this boutique hotel for the weekend to enjoy some wine tasting in Anderson Valley, and pick up my allocation at Roederer Estate. The garden view room is quaint, comfortable, and equipped with well considered amenities. They have an in-house restaurant, Wickson, that I’m looking forward to try. At the lobby is Sun & Cricket, a small shop selling various items and accessories. Next door is The Bohemian Chemist where they offer “sun grown herbal cannabis, skin care, and wellness medicine.” And they have three tasting rooms in the property. Pretty much everything you need for a nice and relaxing weekend is in The Madrones. And I’m looking forward to it.

Buyer beware: if you book this hotel and cancel the booking, even long before the end of the 21 day cancellation deadline required for the so-called full refund, you will be charged a 50.00 service fee for canceling. We have traveled pretty much all over the world and have not once been charged such a fee. Terrible business practice.

The restaurant was great, the food was exceptional, and despite being short staffed, they did a great job!! This place is starting to show it’s wear, and needs some TLC. We stayed in the Master room, and it was a nice room. Warning: the deck is in bad shape, the railing is totally rotted and missing boards. The housekeeping laundry room shares the front porch, and the equipment is noisy…. You can hear it all through the room walls!! The water was coming out of the sink brown… I have a video of it, but they did provide a Brita-type filter for our use. They did provide some initial snacks in the room, and that’s appreciated but we were missing robes… kind of expected for $350.00/night. And yes, the internet speed is slow, but at least it was available. Just a heads-up, several local restaurants and wineries were not open despite it being a weekend in August

Absolutely loved this sweet little space!! We stayed in one of the guest apartments, which we found to be chic and intimate. The rose garden is heavenly, we could have spent hours just sitting and enjoying the aroma. I cannot say enough good things about the restaurant Wickson! Food was phenomenal and the owners so sweet! It needs to be noted though that despite having a trans flag in the garden, my spouse was misgendered by two of the staff. Once was the owner, the second was the person who works in the weed shop. I’m not sure why there is a work culture of calling everyone “ladies”, but this custom needs to end. Even after politely informing the staff in the shop that my partner is non-binary and not a lady, she continued to misgender them in conversation, once again using the term “ladies”. I think she may have been very high, and not just a jerk. We loved every other part of our stay here, but thought it worth noting for any non-cis gendered travelers thinking of staying here.

Stayed at the two bedroom Brambles cabin and it was lovely! Kitchenette allowed us to make bfast daily and cook a dinner during our stay. Beds were comfortable and there is a market nearby. Great spot if you plan on hitting up some wineries! I'd stay here again!

Our stay here was absolutely superb! The accommodations are luxurious and set in a private natural setting. The owners are most gracious and wonderful people. Beautiful surroundings from the vineyards to the ocean.Great food and wine tasting. I highly recommend this awesome destination to everyone!

We stayed in the bramble and the only reason we aren’t giving it a 5 star is because it’s not yet complete. However this hotel is a gem!Furnished perfectly and spacious rooms. Really quirky decorations. If we were being picky, we might suggest some improvements to the shower (the head is a little low) and breakfast provisions as this was a little basic.Location is great, well positioned in Anderson valley, and central to lots of wineries.

Really well styled and comfortable rooms. With Stone and embers below along with several wineries to taste within walking distance, as well as Lemons market up the road this has to be the best place to stay in Anderson Valley

Very lovely setting. It has an ancient house at its core. The grounds are as pretty as you will find in Northern california. The restaurant is very good and they have wine tasting and oil tastings too. 😋!

Great place place to stay for a safe getaway in the age of Covid. We booked a suite at The Madrones with a separate sitting room. Having a sitting room and separate bedroom made for a very enjoyable weekend. Let's face it, in the age of Covid, it's nice to go back to the safety of the room when nothing is scheduled. The Madrones property is delightfully Tuscan, with 3 on-site wine tasting rooms (all outdoors and very safe). There is a charming gift shop and a wonderful on-site restaurant (Wickson) for dinner. (you can just walk back to your room) There was also a small store with espresso drinks but I did not try it.Sleep quality at The Madrones was quite good. Comfortable bed, good pillows and nice linens.(I would have liked black out drapes but it was fine without.) The ceiling fan (over the bed) worked well to keep me cool. We both slept well.In-room perks: a kitchen, a full sized coffee maker, real milk for coffee and little yummies to start your day - that impressed us.TV system is Dish network that includes Turner Classic Movies (super important for non-commercial TV).Recommendations:Pennyroyal wine tasting with cheese (deviled eggs - oh my)Wickson on site restaurant - outdoors - wonderful menu. The Company Kitchen - fabulous Mexican in casual outdoor setting. The AppleFarm for amazing Chutney to take home.Redwood Dine-In for amazing breakfast Burrito - sit outside.Goldeneye - for nice views, good wine.We will be back...Grazie Mille

Awesome place and quarters. Cindy, the innkeeper, was really nice and helpful. Stayed at The Masters room and wish we had been there more than one night. Only downside is it is not easy to get a ride in to Boonville for the restaurants there. Remember to drive safely below the limit.

If you're looking for charming place that focuses on atmosphere amongst the wine vineyards, this is definitely a good option. I recommend a brick oven pizza eaten at a table outside. Several wine tasting options in the plaza as well.

We stayed here for a few days. The Master was very spacious and comfortable. The grounds are very well kept and the location is perfect for both a wine (Anderson Valley) and coastal (Mendocino ~40mins ) getaway.

Great spot with multiple tasting rooms. We visited Knez and Bink and really enjoyed the wines. Finished off the day at Stone and Embers for a pizza on the outdoor patio, dinner was great and service was friendly.

The Staff representing The Madrona do a great job in customer service and go that extra mile to find solutions to problems. The location is beautiful and we'll kept. My only complaint is that I wasn't able to stay long. I would recommend a trip to visit or stay!

Cute, clean, spacious rooms with nice amenities and bathroom. Wifi, fireplace, and nice outdoor area. Nice personal touches.More like a B&B than hotel, so don't expect room service, etc.
