Too Expensive in my opinion. Although the retail workers are helpful and friendly, many items are almost half the price at Home Depot. Many individuals who work and are off the weekend, this company is closed on Sunday which can create a job from being completed.

Keep missing a specific product that was presumably ordered. Visited retailer twice to check if product has been rcvd and put on shelf. The only retailer that carries the specific product my husband was looking for since Home Depot does not carry or order the specific size we need. Also, the price of item was higher in cost than at most other hardware stores.

This little hardware store has an amazing selection! I was blown away by all the parts and pieces they carry!My response to the reviews concerning price. Smaller entrepreneurs do not have the buying leverage that pallet buying megla-marts have. Some items are a little more $ but not all. Just like any other shopping experience. This store has a better selection for serious fixers & DIY-ers than I have seen at the big box stores, I was so happy to find this place!

Rude, unhelpful employees. They're more interested in gossiping amongst themselves than helping customers find things and get fussy when you ask for help. I sincerely hope a Home Depot or Lowes puts this place out of business. It would be well deserved.

They have what you need to get by and their nut and bolt selection is good but their prices are super high, a maul axe there was almost $70 and at home depot it was $40, sometimes its worth just driving to home depot or Lowe's. Customer service sucks to.

Your iconic small town hardware store. I love this place. Great staff, always kind, polite, and helpful. They have all kinds of things you can't find at Lowes or Home Depot especially if you have a manufactured home or trailer/RV. They have lumber, plumbing, metal... this store definitely has saved my butt on many occasions.

You guys probably recognize me.I worked for Mills hardware for about 3 1/2 years, than let go at will. Don't know why, so I thought it was my prescription meds.I personally checked myself into a detox/rehab treatment center to get off these strong meds, in hope to get my job back.I asked the owner Jeanna, she said she needs to think about it.I asked the manager Chris if he could put in a good word for me, and I'm willing to work part time, at starting pay. Well Chris ran crying to the owner, so Jeanna told me to quit harassing her employees.So I concluded that jeanna (who lives her life as a very religious person) has a heart of ice.I changed my life, so I could continue to help people with my knowledge and experience. Sad to say I will no longer support a business that backstabs there employees.My name is on top. Feel free to contact me if you need free advice.

Prices are definitely higher than the big box stores, like Home Depot and Lowe's but it's local. Has a nice variety of plumbing, some tools, screws/nails. Odd flex on garden tool brands. Haven't seen any lumber but that's alright. I heard they offer tractor rental. Hopefully they're reasonably priced.

Went in to buy some galvanized wire and the female owner was very rude.They had the handicap ramp to the store blocked and I politely said with a smile "you're really not supposed to block this" then entered the store.I then asked the clerk where the galvanized wire was and she told me the wrong area. The owner came up before I went to the wrong area and asked what I was looking for. I told her and she started walking in another direction saying it's over here. I asked her to just tell me the isle please. She made a broad gesture toward the west side of the store and said over there. I asked another clerk which isle and who she was, they told me. The owner had an attitude and said you didn't seem to want help, sorry for your bad day, etc.I wasn't having a bad day but I was a bit surprised by her behavior.I told them they just lost a sale because of her attitude.I'll do my best from now on to combine my hardware needs with other out of town shopping trips.Between the attitude, poor quality rental equipment and having to wander the store to find stuff it's not worth it. Plus they are a lot more expensive.

Small community hardware store. It's not one of the big box stores that would have everything you might need for your project or repair, but they do have the basic needs. There is an outside yard behind the store for more construction supplies and for tool and equipment rentals. I needed a sheet of expanded metal and unfortunately they didn't have that. So that left me having to drive 20 miles to the nearest big box hardware store to get what I needed.

Very good hardware store to go to I found that they were very knowledgeable of where things were at in the store from the cash register to anybody on the floor surprise me when I needed a metal file the cashier knew exactly where it was at and when I needed fire ant poison pellets the staff knew exactly what I needed and got me the best deal they had for the amount of poison I needed best shop in the world I recommend it all day long and twice on Sunday

I prefer salesmen over mask police.I was refused service, so I went to Lowes and saved myself $50 bucks.I've been shopping at the Phelan location off and on for the last 29yrs. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.Usually the staff is friendly and helpful but not today 12/28/20 2:30pm. Sad.

It's kinda scary. It's looks like what a hardware store would look like in a fever dream. Scattered nails and screws but never the one you need. The employees are helpful but also seem like they are stuck in this purgatory and I worry for them. Are you guys okay? Do they let you go home? Also this place closes at 7 usually which is too early.

Great place. Perfect for any improvement projects. Pricing is moderate. Handicap parking is easy to get. Mills Hardware staff is very knowledgeable in most home improvement projects. Its like a little Home Depot. Paint, swamp cooler parts, equipment rental, propane supplies, and just about any tool for yeard work.

Today, I was let go by Mills Hardware after working there just shy of a Month.While I have no complaints about the staff, most of which are entirely pleasant and helpful. The selection, which doesn't have everything but has enough to manage.Or the prices, which may be higher then the larger chains, but it being closer helps to curb the difference.My issue is with the Management.I have never seen a clearer case of Nepotism in the work place then working at Mills.And while it is understandable that a locally owned business would perhaps have relatives or family working in close proximity.All of the owners children, are Managers.The reason I was hired in the first place, was to replace their son, whom was leaving for another job.But without being given warning, or reason, I was let go, and he was once again working in his capacity in the place that I had just been trained to replace him in.While the reasons sited were all "At Will", leaving me no legal recourse or action to take.Any who attempt to work at this particular location be warned.Not only do the owners play favorites with their own children.They actively ignore issues regarding equipment requests or repair in favor of cutting corners and saving money over potential safety hazards or worker necessities.They are not receptive to requests made on such basis', and will not hesitate to fire you without warning to make room for their own family members or children, without explaination.If I thought it would do any good? I would be writing this complaint to the better business beurou with a laundry list of complaints, osha violations and safety hazards.However, as it does me no good in the long run. I'll settle for pointing out that the owners are Nepotistic A**holes.

My family and I have been shopping there for years. All of their staff is incredibly knowledgeable and can find the answers if they don't know it themselves. They have excellent customer service and have a variety of items that keeps you from making trips to the bigger stores. I highly recommend it!

Nice store, very clean and easy to find things with helpful staff. I especially like their Stihl products. I like having them here in our little community, I do enough driving and having some place local that I can get what I need for my home is great.

Old timey place with an amazing variety of stuff. You can pull up next to the lumber or comcrete and a yard guy loads it for you. One critique: they should not allow a busy cashier to answer incoming calls. When the phone rings, It's like they turn their full attention to the guy who cut in front of you

What a gem! Mills hardware has it all! I always get lucky and find what i need! Who the heck wants to drive 1hr+ to a big box store in vic! Not me! That's for sure. They have a very good selection of RV stuff and pool and spa chemicals. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable for the most part. Theirs this one lame with the tattoos on his arms who doesn't know s$!@ from shinola. The wonderful ladies have to do all the leg work when he tries to learn how to use the cash drawer. Pathetic. He's the type of guy who would lean his bike against a new garage door and spray paint it red. Uhhhh duuuurrrrr. Get it together dork!

We get in there occasionally. it is The hardware/hardscape supply store of the little town. Nearly always has what we need. . sometimes there may be waiting in register line to check out. but not too long.
