Good people who handle sudden large crowds well. It’s a basic tiny town general store in a remote place that tries to add some fun foods, like a nice selection of gourmet ice cream. They also make great sandwiches and have a surprisingly diverse offering of regular groceries plus some delicious homemade snacks. A very good spot to top off your supplies before hiking the Lost Coast or just car touring the beautiful Mattole Country.

We had no cell service ran out of gas not familiar with up north but really wanted an adventure. It almost turned out to be a disaster. This little town saved us women that afternoon. They had 1 payphone working outside of store but everything was closed. We had to knock on doors and an angel women appeared to open the store for us to pump gas. I had only a few bucks in cash and she helped us. You ever run into this remote spot just know there is a women you should swing by their store to say hi to. She even helped us use her phone. Love her and her adorable dogs and cat

Unless the owner is there the other girls that work there are not to friendly to outsiders. Even though my family has had property there for 100 years now I'm considered an outsider because I live in town. Very small town politics when it comes to acceptance

This place is only open from 9am - 5pm. However, even if the sign says "closed" you may still be able to get help. Its also the local post office and gas station. There is no sign on the outside indicating its a store. A good place to rent bear cannisters. The people aren't very friendly but they met our needs.

The ladies who were working are so very sweet. Have cash or be ready to use an ATM. Try the homemade breakfast burritos if they're in stock!

Hometown friendly general store. They usually have gasoline and diesel as well. Great sandwiches!
