Stopping here on a work trip from San Rafael, I decided to see if they have indoor dog toys not available at my local pet shops. I enjoy the dog chatter I get elsewhere. They did have a “unique” toy for my dog. But, the staff here was more like the halfway ladder for job seekers here for the work, although I, like other big dog spenders expect some smiley dog chatter. 🐕🐕‍ 🐶🐾

Took my Goldendoodle there today for a bath at their self serve pet wash and it was nice to have a place to bathe my large dog without having to break my back. They provided the shampoo, clean towels, dryer and even a few treats for my pup. The gentlemen that works there Jorge was absolutely the best! Super helpful and knowledgeable when helping me with my dogs food and which brands were good. Most importantly, he was genuinely one of the nicest people I’ve met and took the time to talk to me and answer my questions. Thank you again! I will definitely be bringing my business there regularly.

We've always had excellent experiences at Pet Food Express stores across the San Francisco Bay Area. However, on this particular visit, the store manager of the Petaluma store left a sour experience and had us question our loyalty to Pet Food Express. We recently purchased 4 bags of frozen Stella and Chewy and our dog was having stomach issues with the first 2 bags. We decided to exchange the remaining 2 unopened bags for another flavor. The store manager promptly asked us for a receipt and said they "strictly enforce" a 30 day policy on returns. We were 4 days shy of the return window and her demeanor and attitude made us feel like we should be thankful she was going to make an exception for us. I asked her when this 30 day policy had changed since we almost never return things to Pet Food Express. She said "It changed in October, so it's been almost year". Her tone and demeanor made us feel guilty and as if we needed to be lectured on the stores policy.We spent an additional $70+ on food at this store with an extra serving of attitude. We had to thank her for being a customer. I don't remember it ever working this way.The 30 day policy is not written on the back of the receipts or written in the store. There is only a QR code that invites customers to view the policy on the stores website.

Great place for many varieties of high quality dog food and cat food. Small selection for any other pet. Good options for grain free and healthy diets.Most staff is well trained in their inventory. Nice array of treats, toys, clothes, carriers, etc. For your four-legged family members.They have cat trees in several styles as well as the usual line up of collars, harnesses and leashes.Grooming station is on site in the store with good visiblity.Prices are okay, better when you use the buy three get one free option.

I went into Pet Food Express three times today. We adopted a dog today, and I had questions and needed supplies. All three times, they were so friendly and fun and helpful! They've earned a loyal customer in my family today. <3

Staff seems very knowledgeable and they have a great selection of foods but I've never had a more uncomfortable shopping experience, my partner and I were asked by staff multiple times if we were finding everything okay and they were watching us like they thought we were shoplifters and kept aggresively asking what we were looking for. I felt like everytime I would pick something up they would be watching me thinking i was going to steal it. Sorry I wanted to just take my time and enjoy my Sunday. I still ended up spending over $100 dollars but I don't think I'll be back. I did not like feeling like I'm doing something wrong by just shopping and looking at products. Very overbearing staff to the point you are convinced they think you are stealing!!!

We lo e bringing our 2 husky here for bath time! It's their most hated activity and theu let the whole world know it! But the staff at pet food express are so loving and patient and helpful. They always welcome us and the pups. Very kind to always add more time on the dryers so we can get our big boy all dry!The prices are not bad either. I am very happy we have this place to go to. Makes a not so fun activity.. very doable and actually enjoyable.Thank you to everyone that works here. We seriously appreciate you all!

Self wash dog stations here are a lifesaver as my puppy decided to jump into a mud puddle at the local dog park. Definitely positive staff members and a great team members add to a pleasant experience. My puppy is all clean!!!

Brought my dog in for their bath here and the front desk people were so helpful and kind! They walked me through how to work the machines and gave me extra treats when they could see my dog needed it haha. Super friendly associates! ❤️

I love that they have bathtubs to give your babies a bath, and a blow dryer to dry them, and have collars for them to wear so you don't soak your own during the bath. Also comes with soap for you to use. The employees are so amazing and nice. My dog loves to go in there because she gets all kinds of attention and treats. They also have a scale for them to be weighed so that's cool, and they have a really nice variety of products 👍 10/10 would recommend.

Love the pet wash. The staff has been super helpful over the years, dealing with our cat's food allergies and our dog's skin problems. Very friendly, and good prices. Price matching is useful too.

James was awesome! He helped us so much with finding the right food, pumpkin for our dog's stomach and was super informative with different food products and treats. He spent a lot of time with us and made sure we were pleased. He even played with our dog which made him comfortable as well. Thanks James! He's amazing and really shows the company morale. There was a dog wash station that was a hoot. The shampoo was dispensed with the stream of water (like a car wash), then a switch turned off the shampoo so the dog could be rinsed, then the next switch turned on the blower. The tubs were clean, and the drying station was raised for easy access to the dog. The dryer was not so noisy so it might scare a dog, yet the air stream was able to dry down to the skin. My medium sized dog left fluffy, with soft fur from head to toe. Nice attendants and people were there to help show me the ropes.

Greeted by friendly competent people as I walk in the door. Ready and willing to help and share their knowledge. Store is well maintained. One drawback - computer access to prescription is a ten minute ordeal each time. Don't think it's user error, rather a computer snafu.

Pet Food Express is the only local pet shop that carries both the brand of cat litter and the brand/flavors of canned cat food I buy for my cat. It's very nice to be able to shop for both items in one place. The staff is very helpful, and the buy 3, get 1 free deal is great, especially when you're buying large bags of cat litter!

I had one of the best experiences of visting a store ever!!!!... they were so helpful...They took time explaining the dog food that is good quality.....my dog got sick on a brand of dog food that was bought by another company, and they changed the formula to save money.They really know their products and they were so helpful ....I do believe they have guided me to a better product for my beloved pet....You get a lot of personal care..... Called prior to coming in to have our pups for nails trimmed. Got there and was informed you must have rabies documents in hand. Would have been nice if you informed us prior to coming there. Poor customer service
