I frequent this business bc it's where my groomer works out of. The store itself is quite pricey, but they do offer a wide variety of pet products.i was glad to see they stopped selling puppies. The one thing that bothers me the most about that place is the overwhelming smell when walk in the door! I'm not sure what it is, but its really strong and really bad.. the staff there are always friendly and helpful, and that's always a good thing! If you're looking for a new groomer, Tina is wonderful. She always does a great job. Again, a bit pricey, but worth it! I have a small Shih Tzu, and they charge $65-$75, but that's about what other places around here charge.

Our family visited this pet store last Saturday (7/15/23) and it was such a great experience. We went for fish, they have such a great selection and they all look so healthy and well cared for. Their prices were competitive as well. We ended up learning about the different animals they had there and they even pulled out a few for my daughters to see more closely and pet. Such a great experience.

Locally owned and very knowledgeable about all the animals they carry. We have purchased birds and mice from them who are excellent pets. Great selection of fish too. We also buy high quality cat food there. Kind employees! Welcoming and safe feeling.

Thank you to Lidia and the other young lady for answering my questions and helping me out. This place was fully stocked with supplies and fish. But most importantly they were smooth when catching them and added oxygen to my fish bags and not just clasped the bag closed to try and catch some air. Thank you for grooming my cat Homer today. It warmed my heart to see him wrapped in a blanket and napping while he was waiting for me to pick him up. They have a great bird selection! In the Bay Area where I live, its hard to find Society Finches. I love them because they try and get along with everyone! Pet Department had a huge selection. They also have a wonderful aquarium section, and a beautiful fish selection! The staff is so helpful!

This place is AMAZING! The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. We have a water garden and keep mosquito fish (and some guppies) to manage pests that grow in the water. They even took some minnows off our hands when they began to overpopulate. lol

I came in to buy a siphon pump for cleaning out my kids' fish tanks but had no idea how to use one. Not only did the helpful employee direct me to the product, she went on to explain how to use it! Then when I asked her to repeat it, she went on to demonstrate how to do it using one of their own! That is outstanding customer service!

I always love going to Pet Department, getting pet food or not! Such a good little shop for looking and getting stuff! I buy my chameleons live food here and it's so affordable! Very nice people and I don't mind asking questions. A lot more personal and educated than a commercial store!

Mainly rating the saltwater stuff because thats what I come here for. He offers the best prices on all his fish and corals. All the fish are in great health and the corals are great as well. Its my go to lfs because he honestly has the best prices compared to the other lfs in the area (SLO,Nipomo). Definitely check out this shop if your looking for great deals !

I walked in seeking help and asked questions and did get help from the gentleman up front although when I went to the back to look and pick out replacement fish the guy I started to tell which fish I wanted, in mid sentence just walked away to help someone else. I was appalled and found that quite rude. I do my best to always support the local business and not big box stores but with that kind of service wow it's going to make it difficult to return.

They're very friendly here. Offered my dog a treat but he was too excited to take it. I bought a few bones here for 99 cents, which is a steal and my dog really enjoys them. Wish I had bought more.

My best friend Ellie the American Bulldog came from here; she's the sweetest dog I've ever been so lucky to have (and I'm not the only one to say so!).Great prices on dog food, cheapest in the north county! Wonderful pet selection for birds, fish, reptiles and rodents as well as all accessories. My favorite pet store, like an old friend!

Tried calling for about a month and a half straight to talk to the groomer. Every time I ask for the groomer she’s either “extremely busy” or not there. Finally they gave me her cell number, she promised to call me back the next day. It’s been about a week and a half now since then. I’ve tried the last four days straight and she’s always busy, I leave notes for her to return my call each time but no one ever does. Frankly, at this point not only is it annoying, it’s very unprofessional. Good luck trying to get an appointment. You’ll need it.

Don't go to this pet store! I hated to give it a one star! I bought a little parakeet and I was so in love with it and it died right after I got it I took it back and asked for another parakeet and they charged me for it said there are no exchanges, what? I didn't want to buy a dead bird! I was so upset when the bird died, and they made it even worse by being rude and not understanding! I didn't go to the big store I wanted to help out the little store but I will never go back there again and I will make sure everybody I know how they are!

I was recently driving threw the Central Coast area of CA and had my Labradoodle and Shepard/Chow mix puppy to get cleaned up after playing in the ocean all day. When I called to see if they had room, Lynn was very happy to help me out and said bring them right in. When I arrived at Grooming by Lynn I was met at the door with a smile and helping hand. I walked to her grooming area and was very surprised and pleased to see how clean it was, especially for how many dogs she had groomed that day. Lynn and her staff are the most friendly and courteous people I have met. They are so friendly to you and your pets. I had a great experience and THANK YOU LYNN AND YOUR STAFF for getting my dogs cleaned and cut on such short notice. Wish there was a shop in Vegas as good as

Britney was awesome! My brother and I wanted some clown loaches, which we discovered are very good hiders, and they proceeded to get themselves stuck in a very small crevice. Britney stuck with it through thick and thin and took, no lie, about 30 minutes patiently and gently finagling the small and curvy structure so as to safely free and gather the fish for us! All in all a fantastic experience! Thanks Britney!!!
