Cute little store with polite and attentive staff. Plenty of what you might forget on a camping trip including firewood and other essentials. They have fuel, food, and other things you may have forgotten.There's also a post office in the same parking lot.

Really nice people. They had a long fork for roasting marshmallows! Forgot milk on our cabin trip and they had anything you could possibly need. Just like a good mountain store should.

Nice folks here that are always very inviting. We riders love this spot for the convenience, the bathroom and the hang out ambiance. Palomar mtn is a beautiful local getaway and these nice folks are there to cover your bases on the mountain. 5 stars

My son and I visited the store on the way into the park and several times during our stay in the park at Doane Valley Campground. We were met friendly hospitality which must be genuine since they are the only store on the mountain!

Great little store. This little place has wonderful trinkets food next door not to mention a stuffed bear! It's a niche market if you're looking for knick knack items this is the spot little postcards things to remember that you spent a wonderful time at Palomar mountain. If you go during the winter time be prepared parking is extremely limited and you'll be circling for quite some time before you find someplace to park most of the time people just park on the side of the road in the snow. They also sell sleds there so that you can sled down the hills behind the marketplace. Great staff absolutely friendly atmosphere is wonderful love this little general store.

Great People, Tough Prices. But in a pinch it's better than going without! Milk, Butter, Bacon, Sodas, Beers, Food items, Trinkets. A little of most for a tiny store. I live up here, it beats driving down to nearest (20 mins away store)!!! NO FUEL UP HERE, Bring extra or fill up at Horizon Fuel by Valley View Casino! Cheapest Fuel By at LEAST A DIME!

Check website for hours. Over the course of weeks this General Store" was a great vendor of necessities and a nice stop on the way to the Cal-Tech Observatory. They also had art, puzzles and emergency supplies so you could stay stocked up high. Great store, no complaints and saved many the reported windy serpentine road trips down the mountain.

The experience was great! The history of the observatory is inspiring and the amazing views will have me return.I camped at the nearby Fry Creek campground, and visited here, a 5 minute drive, and I would have enjoyed some coffee....just saying.

We drop in several times whenever we are staying at the campground and always find what we need. The customer service is friendly and helpful and the store is unique stocked with an assortment of gifts. They are a good source for firewood and ice.

This is a cute little country store. It's applicable for picking up a few items for your picnic or a souvenir or two. Don't expect a large supermarket but they have most things you'll need for a day trip up the mountain.

Nice little store, has some cool stuff. But selection is limited and the prices are fairly expensive. But you are paying for convenience, the nearest store is miles away. I suggest taking whatever you need with you to the mountain, and stopping in at this store for souvenirs. However, the hours are fairly hard to figure out, and it's not open half the time when you think it should be.

The General Store was amazing! Loved how it had an old fashion vibe, the workers were VERY friendly. Their hot chocolate was very delicious, the sled was a tad expensive, but everything was really great!

My family and I always stop and shop here when we visit. Its like walking through a wonderland as I shop for knick knacks for my loved ones. There are many beautiful items handcrafted by local artists among other unique, celestial related items.

Open now, limited hours, no bathrooms, restaurant closed due to Covid. Mt. Laguna or Julian Better for snow visits. Not enough safe places to play or park. Was not meant for more than 30 visitors at a time especially with no bathrooms for the public!

Nice place to catch a bite to eat when you're up on Palomar Mountain. They don't have a major selection but what they do serve there is pretty good. Especially on the cold days up there . The soup really hits the spot.

There is a very small store next to the Post office that sells non alcoholic soda, milk etc. Very limited selection. The neighboring restaurant closed when the pandemic began and hasn't reopened.

Amazing piece of American Technology from the 30s and 40s. 70 years of use and still at it! Making Hale proud every day. If you have any interest in astronomy this is a must visit. The view from the mountain and the drive up to the observatory are worth the trip by themselves.
