I have always loved this store, but recently it's taken a serious turn for the worse. I don't know what's going on -- maybe they're woefully understaffed?The store feels disorganized and unkempt, like Target on a bad day. More than half the items I looked at didn't have prices shown. The shelves are messy and sometimes empty, even on the displays when you first walk in. Two of the aisles have been dark (lights gone out) for multiple days. The staff are still friendly and helpful, but there have only been one or two staff people there when I've visited.I really hope this is just a temporary situation, and the store will return to its former glory as a bright, shiny inspiration for well-organized living.

It's a nice and well organized store. Understandably during the pandemic, some of the aisles are currently closed and there are stacked unopened inventory boxes on the floor. Hopefully things with get back to normal soon!

Never been to this location or the container store before till last month. Picked up my online order here, and it took awhile to get my order, which is because they have so many orders at any given time and date!! Good quality stuff, the lady called Kathleen was so helpful and found my hidden order!

Shopped today, I have to be honest that I would rather drive to the Stanford Shopping Center store than the Container Store in Santanna Row, if it is still open. . The parking at the Palo Alto store is 25-100 feet from the store. You don't have to park in a parking garage where you drive around looking for a spot. This is what I just hate about going any place at . Santanna Row.So, I parked 50' ft from the door. Today I had closet and garage items I wanted to look at. I picked up a pack of 6 wooden hangers with a metal hook. They had grooves in the shoulder area for slim strapped items and a rubber gripper part so clothes won't fall off. These are the first ones I've seen like this so I bought a dozen to try out. On to the suit bags. I wanted 2 for travel and was looking for plastic ones with zippers. Normally I really like the fabric garment bags, but if you've ever had a pair of expensive ivory wool pants fall in the road slush while racing to the Mpls. International airport in the winter, believe me no folding travel garment bag should have any fabric on it at all!Put two of those in the cart. They also have examples of their closet systems and it was fun looking at all the new things that can be fitted into them.In the travel section they had a terrific carry on tote with all sorts of partitions. That's going on a future buying list...reminds me of the Louie V designer bags. In the garage section they also had various organizing configurations. I needed exact measurements so I will be back to pick out those items. All types of hanging devices and cord managers etc. I loved looking at everything in that store as it is a neat-nicks paradise. 2 hours later its time to check out. The staff is efficient, helpful when needed and friendly. Someone is always at the checkout and they have multiple stations when needed. It's fast and efficient! The store is light and bright, with wider isles to make the whole space seem larger. It's a pleasurable shopping experience.

I’ve loved shopping at The Container Store all my life but this location does not have prices on maybe 20% of the items. I don’t plan to come back anytime soon. Very disappointing. Not only do I not support shops that abuse the customers’ money like this for budget reasons, it also sure triggers one’s OCD to see so many empty price tag spots! :oOh, and being burned by too hot water in the men’s room sink was a nice bonus too

This is not the store for a big project. Difficult to schedule a custom spaces appointment where the person can actually with all product lines. They have part time and full time designers who handle different product lines but that can’t be specified on the website when booking. Floor staff are also unable to book appointments. Tried using the website booking twice and got a junior staffer who couldn't help.

This store was well-stocked and tidied up the week after Christmas. I found some unique things for my daughter's January birthday. Cashier was helpful and pleasant and masked. Prices were reasonable. I will definitely be back.

It's a smaller store compared to the others, but still as jam packed with interesting knick knacks and unique containers. The associates here are great though. They've always been super nice whenever I come in and checkout. Parking is a little sparse, but if you don't mind walking there's always a spot. I always love coming in just to see what's new

Super cool. I always come up with so many ideas for efficient space usage and so much more in the house when I browse around container store. Prices are significantly higher than alternative options. But, i believe for the most part you are paying for higher quality material and nicer designs.

I placed an online order 22 days ago. It was expected to be delivered today. A week ago I placed another order due a couple weeks from now. When I got a text message today stating that my order was ready for pickup I had forgotten about the previous order so I thought my recent order was early! Well it wasn't. It was the older order that fit easily in a small bag. So I spent over 1.5 hours to pick up what I thought would require my truck. If the text message had the order number or better yet a link to the order I would not have had any confusion but it didn't.Maybe The Container Store engineers can enhance the text messages to include a link to the order! It would be greatly appreciated...

I cannot speak highly enough for the service of this Container Store in Palo Alto. We went in to design a custom elfa closet for our walk in closet. Our case was complicated because we missed some details when measuring (eg. changing ceiling height in the closet), which resulted in big order returns. In addition to that, take advantage of the credit card offers and Labor Day discounts, there were a few transactional changes and a price match. Everything was served with SO MUCH patience, professionalism, and the most authentic quality service delivered by our designer Kathleen, the store manager Chris, and the front desk staff Melissa. They were so easy to work with and went above and beyond to make the shopping experience as good as it could be. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, for this Container Store’s product and staff. Special thanks to Kathleen, Melissa, and Chris!

My favourite store ever! Just being in here, where everything is so organized, bright and clean makes my heart flutter. They have great storage ideas, but lost a point for price and ALL THE PLASTIC. It would be great to see more environmentally friendly products, such as bamboo items and compostable plastic alternatives.

Ordered online on 1/12 for a pick up on 1/20. All items were stocked when talked to a person.Due to busy schedule I was told I need to wait. On 1/20, I was notified 3 items are back ordered. Due to storage they won't keep items for online order. A staff offered to ship them out when available (expected on 1/27). Checked online and those were restocked. Thought those are on the way. A week later called the container store to find out what's going on. Missed our order and will ship it right away with a small gift card for the inconvenience. After 25 days of order(which was in stock at the moment) came in to assemble but no gift card. Such a liers at this store.Do not trust anything.

Kathleen at the store offered great customer service. Valentina on the other hand was somewhat rude. She made a mistake with my price by not offering a discount on a sweater rack, made me bring the discounted tag to her when really it was her job to know about the discount and then made me wait until she was done with customers she hadn’t even started with before changing my pricing. As I was waiting, Kathleen kindly offered to help quickly. Also Valentina didn’t want to budge 2 feet to check the prices of certain items for me.

Moved to 3. Long line, one register. She waited until it was completely lined back before calling for help.On the second to last day of the elfa sale that seems... Like poor staffing or a plan for subdued sales.The items I bought are fun, but with a price that was a little steep.

Luis was super helpful, had all sorts of great tips. The "Elfa expert" unfortunately sold me the wrong color hardware to go with my Elfa system…even after I asked about it, saying that the "only" hardware of that type was in platinum. The SF store rectified this issue for me.

Container Store at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto California has a habit of displaying one price on the store shelf, and then charging a higher price at the register. The first time this happened, I thought it was just a mistake. Today, it happened for the third time. No apology or explanation by the cashier, they just take it in stride each time. This store has an integrity deficiency.

Alot of options. Everything is a bit higher quality than online, but also generally significantly more expensive. Store is clean and parking is easy, but all considered I would choose to shop at other retailers online for organization / storage.

I have shopped here before and I love getting organized so this fit in perfectly. I just applied for a position online that they have available and now, I'm following up. I just tried calling and it was a voice recording of saying: "Thank you for calling The Container Store in Palo Alto. We are located next to Crate and Barrel. If you'd like to speak with a representative at normal business hours, please press 0. Thank you!" I pressed 0 as instructed but no one came on. I did it again after a few seconds and it returned back to the recording! You need to get someone to take and direct calls!

If you have the dough to spend, come here for high quality stuff, Japanese made organizers, etc. Their coupons don't work on sale items and sales items are not cheap either.

I have installed more than 30 ELFA closets in home and apartments. Great product. The quality is why it might be considered pricey. You can buy similar shelving cheaper but it won't be this quality and it won't last.
