I have a big dog and just by walking in they acted like they didn't want to take my dog to get groomed. They said to walk away so my dog doesn't get protected of me and when I passed the leash the girl was all scared 🙄 my dog is nice and gentle but because she was big they freaked out and didn't even try to take her back. They told me to wait outside and just walking out they followed right behind me saying sorry we can't she won't let us but how could she say that if she only had her for not even a min. I have been warned before not to take her there but I figured I'll give them a try yeah what everyone says about this store is true. Find another place to take your dog groomed.

My boxer, Buck, actually runs, not walks to see his favorite groomer, Kaylynne each month. She has been able to do the impossible for Buck. He has anxiety and some aggressive tendency toward other dogs but Kaylynne has created such a safe and protective environment for Buck that he is now able to enjoy his spa day with zero interest in other dogs. Kaylynne is the only groomer able to clip and grind his nails without resistance and actually cuddles Kaylynne while being clipped. Every employee at this Palmdale, California location is kind, helpful and most of all, they go above and beyond for Buck, which makes him feel like a VIP. No wonder he runs toward the groomers door rather than away when a bath is imminent. This staff is amazing, with a special Thank you to Kaylynne who has become a true member of our family. From that first meeting over 2 years ago, she has made her mark, a permanent and irreplaceable professional and loved member of our family.

I have been a loyal customer of Petco Palmdale. I have always been very pleased with the care the grooming team has provided to my babies. Today, that changed. I took two of my babies to get groomed . It was a typical day until my wife went to pick up my two dogs from the groomers. One of my babies was missing!!!! Missing! No where to be found! It was one of the most devastating days of our lives. How could one of our dogs go missing under the care of Petco Groomers?! It seems as though they were unsupervised for a good amount of time that allowed for a person to walk in and take my dog without anyone noticing until we were there to pick up. Thank God someone found her running down the street and took her to the nearest vet where they found she was microchipped and contacted me and told me she was found and safe. This was such s traumatic experience for me, my family and my dog. This was unacceptable! This cannot happen again ! There needs to be better procedures in place to eliminate lack of supervision and to prevent anyone else having their dog go missing when in the care of a groomer. I was given different information from employees so I’m not sure which is the truth. I was told the only groomer on site took a lunch break for 45 minutes in which was the time frame where my dog went missing. My heart broke today, it completely sunk into my stomach . I worried for my pup , I’m grateful there are still caring people out there to a dog frightened, looking for safety and taking to the vet. I’m eternally grateful. Petco you must revisited your procedures and implement safety precautions to prevent this from happening again.

Gene was the groomer, and he did an amazing job. We have a poodle-mix so he's got some hair that's difficult to work with, but he did an amazing job keeping everything even. He also did the styling exactly how we asked him to, which was much appreciated since that isn't something that's actually done every time we go to PetSmart.
