We spent what was supposed to be 3 weeks, but ended up being 2 weeks due to them closing mid stay, end of February into March 2024. The park is BEAUTIFUL and FULL of wildlife. Every single day we saw herds if deer walking around grazing the grass. There is a small trail next to the water that is about 1 mile long. The spots are far apart and we had one that backed to the creek. Many spots were closed due to their electric being out, and that is why they ultimately closed the park down for electrical repairs. There were rumors that they may not re-open, but I hope that's not the case because the RV park has so much potential. We had 2 kids with us 6&7yo, who loved the playground and life, lots of open space in there and they had another room just for kids to play at. Great for kids riding their bikes too. Bathrooms were clean and mostly warm. Laundry room was fine, but people in there will take your clothes out as soon as the machine stops and dump it on the ground lol. The plants that are planted all over are beautiful, they really take pride in that. Walking the entire park was always very nice....it is big about 2 miles all the way around. Great for walks and bike rides! Will be back when they re open! The only minor inconvenience there was our laundry getting moved and having to find another RV park on short notice when they closed, otherwise we had a really good time! Near Pinnacles National Park

Stayed in Oct/Nov of 2023We stayed for a week at San Benito and enjoyed our time for multiple reasons. First, there were a ton of kids there that were quick to play with our kids. It was great to see the park, children's room, and pool used consistently by kids. They also had a number of events to attend like Bingo, craft, Lego Party, etc...The pool was open but we did not partake because it was a bit to chilly for us. The playground was decent size, Lodge was fine and well stocked, and the basketball courts were maintained well enough. We did not utilize the bathrooms so I cannot speak on the bathroom or shower quality. The wildlife is something else here. The deer are just as common as the goats heads. It became normal for us to wait for deer to cross or vice versa on our walks. Our feet and dog suffered a bit because of the goatsheads/briars. We had to get booties for our dog and had to wear thick soled tennis shoes the entire time to save our feet. The electric was our only major issue. Our surge protector disconnected us from our pedestal throughout the day. We had a message that a line was reversed and needed to be brought to staff attention. We did just that and were told maintenance would come by to speak with us. We never hear from anyone again after that.I vacillated between a 3 and 4 for the rating. We ultimately decided a 3 because we did not have any follow up from staff after asking for assistance with an electrical issue. Even if the electrical issue couldn't have been fixed but the staff would have connected with us regarding the process, I would have rated higher.

What a gem! We had a small cabin and it was just perfect. So clean and cozy. The heater kept the room so nice and warm on the chilly nights we were there. It was so nice to have the tiny kitchen, table, microwave and satellite TV. We even took advantage of the community center to use the internet and play pool. We did have towels and there are sheets on the double bed but not the bunks. We saw both deer and wild pigs roaming around. This is a great base for spending a few days at Pinnacles.

This was our favorite campground but didn't have a favorable experience last time. The first time we stayed here last summer the WiFi was fantastic. Superfast and reliable. That's important to us because we're digital nomads. This last time the WiFi went out on us after our first week in the park so we talked to (whom I think was) the manager and she told us one or two towers needed rebooting and told us she would send someone out.Four hours (not a typo!) later no one came out.We drove back up to the store/office and asked again and we were told there was nothing they could do about it that they had no access to the internet "stuff" and that was all handled through the home office. They couldn't contact FastWave (the WiFi provider) either..that's all handled by people "much higher up in the organization."Nobody ever helped--ever. No one came out despite the manager's promise. No one ever contacted us at all.We were forced to move to a new campsite. We hooked up to the WiFi there and it was unusably slow. Ping times over 3 seconds, around 15% dropped packets despite having a 5 bar (excellent) connection to the WiFi tower. You can't advertise yourself as a place for digital nomads if your wifi isn't even suitable for reading emails...much less streaming zoom meetings.I'll never forget the attitude of the manager. She seemed almost petrified that something I would say would cause her to have to exert effort. I asked her a few questions about the internet service in general and she gave off this irritated impression/vibe that I hope the people "much higher up in the organization" are aware of because it doesn't help the TT brand. The other employees I talked to were all awesome. Their excellent work and and attitude were really diminished by the manager's lack of effort.

Nice place, lots of electrical problems throughout the park but there is still more than enough spots to accommodate. It's hard to tell where the roads are if you are coming in late, so try to arrive before sundown. While we were there, an RV hit the water pipe two sites down around 8pm. Maintenance had someone out by 8am the next day to fix it.There is plenty of deer lingering everywhere as well. For amenities like groceries, the city of Hollister is about 30mins north. If you are looking for a getaway, this is a great place.WARNING: Do not come into the park from I-5 through Panoche Rd if you have a big rig. County Road J-1 is treacherous and full of low trees and pot holes. Took super slow speeds and manuvering to get my rig through the 25miles of potholes. Also, I don't recommend heading South on California HWY 25, while towing, from where you turn into the park. Pinnacles NP is in that direction, but it gets super tight about 10-15 miles in. No Gas/Diesel available in that direction either. Fill up before checking out Pinnacles.

Staff are nice, park is clean and well-maintained. The only problem is that something is SUPER wrong with their tap water. All of a sudden I started feeling super nauseous all the time for no reason whenever I stood up and did anything. Felt tired and weak and heat sensitive, I had no idea what was wrong with me because I'd never felt that way before. I mentioned that I might need to go to the doctor and my mom said she started feeling that way too until she stopped drinking the tap water. I stopped drinking the tap water too and within a day I was almost completely normal. Asked everyone else about it and they said they were feeling similar while we were here. It's especially concerning because we have a really nice water filter system on our rig. What's up with the water??

Kind of a mixed review on this location. For the price per night this place is, I expected better. Location itself is nice, spacious property in a bit of a desert climate. But for how spacious the property is all the sites are basically piled on top of each other. The resort itself is not ideally designed. If arriving after hours and in the dark it is not the easiest place to navigate with minimal signage for sections. I definitely would suggest trying to arrive during the day if you're trying to find a campsite and to familiarize yourself with the layout of the park. There is a very nice mixture of shaded sites and open and sunny sites to choose from if you have solar or starlink. They do offer propane fill on-site, but only during two 30-minute Windows throughout the day.Ample dumpsters spread throughout the park is a nice feature. The laundry facility is about the furthest point from all campsite locations back by the main gate. The biggest upside is it is open 24 hours.Bathroom maintenance is a bit of a joke. The closest bathroom to our camp area didn't have toilet paper in it for about 5 days straight with a clogged toilet in it for 3 days and only one sink working almost the whole time we were here. No paper towels for multiple days. And you see the housekeeping staff going into them every day but doesn't seem like they actually do anything. Bring a stick along if you're going to take a shower to be able to constantly unclog the shower drain otherwise you're standing in an inch of water. The bathrooms are recently updated and some of the nicer facilities I've been to lately, if only they would keep up with maintenance and housekeeping.Nearby activities: Do take note that the closest town with any real services is about 17 mi away.

I love being in San Benito, the people and mainly the animals. Everybody is kind and generous with knowledge. I enjoy the weather here immensely. And most of all the openness to gods country Amen amen AmenSafety: They’re only a phone call away.Noteworthy details: I would like to recommend highly to these employees that have gone above the call of duty, Kelly Mcnammra Ranger supervisor, David, assistant manager, and Stephanie manager. I truly appreciate all the help that they have given me. Thank you so much Linda Rothwell.

This place definitely needs some work! It took us about an hour to find a site that had electricity. The pool was extremely cold because the heater was broken. I was told by another camper that it had been broken for a really long time. We were told by management it would be fixed tomorrow every day we were there. The worst part was when we left, we had a hard time unplugging the electric and when we did, the plug was burned and badly melted! The rv box and the plug were totally destroyed! Now we can’t use the electric until parts come in and er find someone to install the new part. It’s ended up to be a really expensive stay!! We will not be back.

Camping spaces are rustic and too many spots are tents only. I didn't find full hookups. But...it is peaceful here and I love the wildlife. The pool is clean and open and the lodge has things to do. Basketball court and miniature golf as well as a nice hiking trail. Small store is open so that's convenient.

We went to Thousand Trails this past weekend, and I am blown away by the improvements they have made since my last visit four years ago.I was pleasantly surprised by the state of the cabin, as it was very clean and all inclusive of all the basic amenities needed for a home away from home. The addition of cable tv and WiFi were just added bonuses. I was worried about the noise created by the group that rented out 13 cabins behind us, but was surprised when I went to bed and didn’t hear a thing. It was perfect. The state of the park has been improved SOOOO much compared to my last visit. The mini golf course is functional. The grasses have been trimmed and maintained. The pool was so clean in comparison. The best part about the park was the friendly staff. They always seem to be popping by to tend to the needs of the guest. Big shout out to David. He was very entertaining and willing to offer a hand whenever needed.I will definitely be returning in the near future!!!

This was by far my favorite thousand trails to stay at. Not only was the park spacious and beautiful but you can tell how much they care for wildlife. We saw several deer, squirrels, birds, etc., all having a great time. The dog park is spacious. The only negatives I would have to say is that they are on a boil water notice which was very inconvenient but they said should be fixed soon, and the park is about 10 min off the main road with badly paved roads leading up to it. All in all the staff was very friendly and I loved our stay.

A DRIVING NOTE TO START: If you’re coming from the south (ie Pinnacles NO) your GPS will probably direct you to turn Left onto Old Airline Road THEN Cieniga. This is a brutal, old, farming road.I’d suggest going 3 miles north and turning Left directly onto Cieniga instead - the same spot you’d turn if coming from the north.——————-NOW FOR MY REVIEW This is a very large, rustic resort, with a variety of spots. Everything from tenting to full-hook up, 30 or 50 amp spots WITH sewer. You can choose very quiet spots or ones that are near the pool and lodge. Lots with shade too.Fun watching the wildlife including birds, chipmunks, deer and boars. There is a little store 👍 but bring your own veggies and fruit. All the amenities are quite clean and tidy.As for location…this is a spot to hang out and use the games and pool etc. NOT a great location to day trip from. Rather remote. AND the road to it is quite brutal. Bumpy and winding. Batten everything down very well before driving!!!I stayed here two weeks and will stay here again in my 25’ Class C motorhome.

No one online or in person at the location mentioned the fact that you can’t drink the water due to contamination. You only find out by seeing notices posted around the campground. Then they want to sell you water at the store! Also, currently, every single bathroom and shower is closed due to another issue. No one told us that either, you just find out when you walk to the restrooms to use them and face a problem. When I asked where I’m supposed to go to the bathroom various staff said “I have no idea”. When you ask to speak to the manager or get a refund, the person they direct you to is conveniently absent. I’m very disappointed in their lack of transparency and the state of communication to customers. Otherwise, it’s a nice campground that has areas that are run down and uncared for. The wildlife is amazing though and it’s a beautiful spot.

So this campground used to have a Bar, a Dancing stage, a couple of natural pools on the creek, and used to be pretty well overall put together with far more available sites, power, and then some. But Whoever is doing campground management here really is seriously under investing in the site itself and has been for years. I highly suspect someone somewhere is skimming for how bad this park has gotten over the years. Trees falling, bathrooms falling apart, trailers getting crushed by tree branches every year. Thousand trails with just repairing or redoing the existing sites and investing in an actual infrastructure and having a real forestry plan could easily increase revenues by 5 times. This park was the sole reason I stopped my thousand trails membership, and it's convinced dozens of others to do the same. You have to love the naturalness of the place with the deer and everything. The staff hold it together the best they can like a family. But without doing it all the right way it's just slowly falling apart.

Went here to visit my son and right as we drove in there was a family of 8 deer grazing as we drove by. They didn’t get startled and just nonchalantly looked at us and kept on with their daily chores. My son gave us a tour..showed us the pool area and bathrooms..which were really nice by the way...including stand up showers with tiled walls and floors. We saw a huge eucalyptus tree with a large gathering of vultures..my son says they roost there every night.

Read the policies page. They charge for any and EVERY thing. They require you to have camper insurance. A form is required for children. So many hoops to jump through for a broken pool and electrical boxes that fry your equipment.

TT San Benito is a beautiful well maintained park. If you like to pack it in for your stay this is the place. If you tend to make frequent trips into town while camping it might not work for you. Both the manager and the assistant manager are friendly, level headed, hard workers who care about the quality of your experience. If you like to escape the city sounds I highly recommend!40 ft motorhome

My husband and I love this resort. Staff is very professional. We go from Morgan Hill TT to San Benito only. These are our two home spots, but San Benito is the best. 💞🏆🥇🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Optimistic about this park stay but was very disappointed. Entrance was the best part-encouraging and well-maintained. Went down hill from there. Ground squirrels EVERYWHERE! Running all over the top of our RV, picnic table and the grounds. LOTS of full time residents with trashy surroundings-made me feel unsafe. Other campers driving around the campground continually all during the day and evenings, dust flying about and roads full of holes. Store had very little and what they did have looked old. Laundry facility clear across the campground making it almost unusable. Campground is run down and in need of a serious refresh. I was happy to move on.

Stayed in back, pretty quiet. Good sized, level sites with little to no grooming. Pool was under construction. If the trend continues, the entire park will be tent sites. Many are now designated as tent, due to unrepaired electric and sewer breaks. The ground squirrels are prolific and cause lots of damage. The "wild" pigs roam freely, digging up the ground. There are deer too, and lots of magpies and blue birds.Pool is being rehabbed, main Lounge is great. Laundry room is quarters only (staff have them at the office and gate). No hot water in laundry and the machines need a good cleaning. The few staff on hand were pleasant. The good outweighs the bad here.
