Some of the kindest helpers for our little animals work here. Our little Spark got his toe caught in a harness. I thought there might be a kind of tool to help remove it from his little toe. One of the staff members said she’s seen it before, and removed the clip so easily! I was struggling all morning! So so grateful for their help!

I've only been a customer for about a year but will continue to go to Stone's for all my cat and dog supplies. They have excellent customer service--sales people areknowledgeable and caring so that going there has always been a truly wonderful experience. Forget about the big box stores or shopping online and give yourself a rate treat and visit Stone's.

Really loved the self serve bath here. Very clean, towels and shampoo provided and was only $19 for our large 100lb labradoodle. Perfect temperature water, great blow dryer and overall just a great experience. Really kind staff and accessible for wheelchairs!

Stones pet shop is my favorite store. Always a pleasure to see Terry. The store is always clean and very well stocked with everything you could ever need. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about all of the products on the shelf. Even if you just stop in to say hi, there is always a happy face and a four legged friend. Wonderful shop.

I have been going to stones pet shop for a few years now and I have literally nothing but good things to say.1. They will order things in for you if they dont have it.2. They will adjust prices if other places are selling for a lot cheaper.3. The workers are super nice and knowledgeable on different topics. They are also honest when they dont know something. They wont just make up stuff (experienced this a lot at other places)4. The owner is super helpful and involved in his store.5. One of the best places in monterey to get aquarium necessities ordered. They add up a bunch of peoples orders to meet requirements for whole sale orders, then order them all from whole sale. They also dont mark up the fish too much. Theyll give you a call so you can be there when the whole saler drops off the fish, so theres less stress on the fish.

Tom and his friendly crew have always gone out of their way to make sure every customer gets exactly what they need for their pets. My husband and I have noticed how hard working every employee is each time we visit, and it shows. Not only is there a huge selection of high quality dog and cat food and accessories, but also a wonderful array of reptile, fish, and bird related items (I may be forgetting some things, there's a lot packed into one small store!). On the off chance that they don't have what you want, they will do their best to obtain it for you in a timely manner and at a fair price. Skip the big box stores, go to Stone's.

First off, the reason I rated the "Appeal" as "Very Good" instead of excellent is because this is not a couture pet boutique that you might find in Carmel. Instead, it is manned by very friendly and knowledgeable people who can give you educated advice ranging from what food you should give your hamster to fitting your dog for a harness (see other review). They also have a couple of groomers on board now, and I've heard that they are very good.Anyway, their little space is crammed with high-quality pet diets & products. They sell crickets too. If you don't see what you want, you can ask the staff and they will often check their storage area or make a special order for you. Realize that Stone's carries predominantly pet PRODUCTS and does not sell animals (...although I think that they have some birds for sale?). It's a great place.Highly recommended.

They are NOT very good at keeping their items in stock. Adding to mediocre customer service and over pricing, there's only two reasons To go here.1. A dislike of large box chains2. Location.

Always available for questions, even when the store is rocking. Don't be fooled by the space...they will find it for you if it isn't there and offer grooming as well.Been going there since Don Stone owned it. The staff members are bright and helpful, and the present incarnation of Stones Pet Shop is, in a word, Awesome!

It was my 1st visit with a 60lb lab. The employee was very helpful getting me started. You can take your time and do a very thorough job, shampooing and drying your pooch. Stone's supplies everything!

Adorable pet shop, real hole in the wall place. High quality dog and cat stuff; they also have birds (don't know anything about birds, so can't judge). Very friendly staff member helped me fit a backpack for my dog, and when it was clear he needed a smaller size than they had in stock, she ordered it to arrive within the week. Also, their grain-free selections are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper for the quality than Petco, Petsmart etc.

Honestly they do a great job grooming, and the groomers are very talented/great with dogs. However, we have had THREE incidents of appointment mishaps, where they either didn't schedule us at all or they told us the wrong day or time. As a result we need to go somewhere else that keeps their appointments.

Come for the pet supplies, stay for the BIRDS. Great, friendly service, good variety of products, price matching, military discount, etc. etc. but who cares about that stuff- come here for the birds. It's basically an aviary.
