It is my daughter’s birthday and this was her choice to have her first legal drink. This is the crown jewel of Orland, what a beautiful spot. It has a spot where they sell honey, a coffee bar, restaurant and well stocked bar too. The staff is super knowledgeable and very professional, they really make sure you are having a good time. There are several separate venues where you can have large or small gatherings, it is a one stop shop for fun. You can see live bees or their bee display too that is super cool and well worth the visit. The food was tremendous, artsy and healthy with great portion size. I got a bite of everything and was super impressed. I chose the fried chicken and it. This is one place you all need to try.

This is an amazing restaurant. The service was amazing and the food was so so good. It was flavorful and unique. They actually raise bees here and use their honey which I think is very cool. They offer samples and use it in their food, so you can taste how amazing it is. One of my favorite things there was the ice cream!! They used their honey in it and wow, it's some of the best ice cream I've ever had. As well as amazing dessert options, the burger, tacos, and matcha I had were also amazing. All in all, the amazing atmosphere and staff combined with good food make The Hive an incredible restaurant.

Their food is pretty whatever but it's a super cool shop in general lolThey have a chocolatier, bakery, souvenir shop (with honey, tshirts, etc) with their restaurant. There was a panel with bees inside too, which was interesting to see while waiting for food. They did a fantastic job with the interior design as well, very modern and bee themedServers were nice and there was plenty of street parking.

Three of us visited The Hive for lunch on Wednesday. What on experience! We were treated like we were special guests! Betty took the time to bring us samples of a marvelous smoothie. She checked on us often. The food was great, but the service . . . We've never been treated like royalty before. And Betty brought us samples of honey butter. Yum!! I'm coming back!!

Where shall I start. I entered the building to on the wrong side and ended up having an incredible tour of so many facets of this incredible business! It started with a historical looking barn that ended up being an event center. Then, I mozied past the most incredible dog park I've ever seen. I don't even have a dog, But I wanted to hang out there anyway. I could picture myself sitting at one of the pub tables with wine watching my puppy play. I have a love for plants and ended up walking through a beautiful plant area...then... through some glass doors into a lovely shopping experience. I was greeted with wreaths, soft and fluffy blankets, candles. chocolate and "then" there was the flower shop! Oh My gosh, The only thing missing was the jewelry store l o l. Then there was " the honey" .... the lovely honey . The presentation made me feel like I was a Napa it was incredible. I was greated by a beautiful young lady nicely dressed who graciously showed us their tasting area. Then a manager came along and showed us how to properly use disposable spoons and a proper Disposal. I consider myself a germaphobe, So I really appreciated it. With the display of honey and it feeling so luxurious, I was amazingly surprised at the very affordable price of the honey. I now am able to come back regularly to purchase my honey at this location, which is very exciting. Now let's talk about Betty!!! Betty was equally as exciting to me.She was very courteous, pleasant, knowledgeable, eager to please, educate, all the way until I went out the door!!! I immediately knew I always want to be served by Betty. What an asset to the company!!! Basically Betty not only answered on my questions but spent time explaining. We were even able to sample the in house dressings which I can't say enough about . My first response was "do you bottle this so I can take some home.!!!" As soon as my plate came, I knew that I want to try everything on the menu. So it looks like I'll be going back on a regular basis. As we were checking out, We were shown a beautiful section that has ice cream that was made on-site. I just about came un glued!!! Then I saw their bakery case ! Once again, the manager came over and promptly allowed us to have taste samples of the ice cream So we could choose which one to take home.Of course I took two different flavors home who can pick just one? I want to mention that were Seated by the bar in this "gorgeous room". IF I had to give one improvement request at The Hive, the only thing I could mention is In the main dining room would be more Aesthetically pleasing with round tables. Honestly if nothing ever changed, I would be perfectly happy.I caught myself not wanting to leave. Everybody was so pleasant and everything I loved was under one roof. I suppose the only way they could make it better is to offer spa services LO L..... I have arrangements to meet once a month with a few friends at the hive. Im so happy to have had a chance to go in advance and check everything out ! When we Walked out my Friend said I can't believe we're in Orland as I felt like we just came out of Napa. To me that's an ultimate compliment! Like I said, I will be traveling to Orland specifically to come to The Hive and I hope that you do too.

Atmosphere was good and that’s where it ended. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with the potato’s. When it came to the table it was cold along with the potato’s. Cold like it was microwaved for 30 seconds and not hot of the press. Wife ordered the French toast. They forgot the syrup. The waiter (Alyssa) asked if she wanted more syrup ten minutes later we had to inform them there was never any syrup brought out. No refills offered on waters and no questions if we needed anything else. I will not be back. Disappointed after all the good things I have heard about the place. This was not during a busy time either. We arrived right at 9:00am. Overall not worth the $60.35.On a positive note my kids liked looking at the bees.We also had other people in our group who felt the service was definitely subpar for the price point. They did like the food. But one of the people in our group finally got her honey butter for her biscuits 45 minutes after she asked for it.

Wonderful atmosphere, the lighting, decor, everything, absolutely lovely. Staff are all super nice. Food is fairly priced and absolutely delicious, I got their clam chowder, it was loaded with good stuff, and the clams were tender and tasted great. I'd definitely come here again

The Hive is fun, entertaining, and delicious. It’s quite the experience and I recommend it to families, groups, singles and couples. They have a comfortable environment with layers of options. The staff is super friendly and you get very large portions of food. I wish they had more options on the menu but I absolutely love the gift shop and bakery area. I had the Club sandwich with side salad and my sister had the fish tacos. We both had plenty of left overs to bring home. We also picked up some treats from the bakery on the way out. Macarons were yummy.

This is a wonderful space. The bee hive exhibit was lovely. The food was excellent. I had the tri tip dip sandwich. I also had tea with lavender syrup and oat milk. My hubby had cheese burger on brioche. Fries ere tasy as was burger. The room was beautiful. There was a cool gift shop. They had a private party in a room upstairs. They had a two sided bee hive exhibit. They had a small building with plants for sale. There was honey for sale. You could sample them also. Lavender honey was an option. They also had a dessert for sale and take home option. They looked beautiful and tasty. I think the photos do it justice. They also had a barnlike structure for events. Its quite the place. Highly recommend a visit.

Although the vibe and atmosphere of the Hive is outstanding, my recent experience was definitely not. I reserved a table for our anniversary and arrived at 5:48. We were promptly seated and a drink order taken. The bar tender brought us our drinks and then we sat for 40 minutes along with a table of 3 seated just before us and a table of 5 seated right after us. A family next to us was already done eating and they sat there waiting for their bill for the same amount of time. They eventually got up and asked the hostess for their bill. Not once did the wait staff comment that she would be with us shortly. When she finally arrived, we had decided that the experience ruined what we had hoped for the evening, so we asked for our bill. The wait staff did apologize at that time, but I told her that 40 minutes with no communication was unacceptable and that we would go elsewhere for our meal. She returned with the bill, and set it on the table as she walked by-no words said and she acted pissed off.

What luck! Went to buy flowers and found so much more! A beautiful restaurante with full bar, music and incredible desserts. Made reservations right then and there for 6, we ended up being 8. I wish I’d taken pics of all the entres we ordered, because each one was a sight to behold! My ribs were stacked individually, so much easier to eat. Everything was cooked to perfection and was delicious. The cocktail menu is extensive, we tried a few with the Lavender Lemon Drop being the best. Service was perfect and very friendly. They even have a working hive on display! Fascinating, a must see. The building has the most beautiful flower garden that the bees access. This would be the ideal place for a party, reception, shower, reunion, etc. Sweet private room upstairs. My kind of place.

The food was good, but not what I was expecting. I ordered a club sandwich and it was pretty bland. My parents seemed to like their food, so maybe it was just what I ordered. The prices seemed a bit much at first, but they do give you a generous amount of food. The service was friendly, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The dining area and restroom were clean, and I really loved the aesthetic of the place. It was a bit hard to hold a conversation due to how loud it was in the restaurant, but that's pretty normal nowadays. There is a patio with outdoor seating, so it's possible it could be easier to hold a conversation there instead. Overall, I liked The Hive and recommend giving it a try if you're in the area.

The location is a breeze. Close the freeway and easy to jump right back on if traveling by. Food was good and hearty. We had the oatmeal and it tasted/looked like it was made fresh. Not sitting in a pot overcooked. The staff were all pleasant and welcoming. We had to sit outside due to covid-19. When the wind blew there was a whiff of animal urine. I am guessing a cat frequents the area. Overall everything was clean, modern and bright. There is a fine and a couple of heaters to accommodate weather. We will be stopping by again the next time we are out here.

I've only been here a few times but I adore this place! It's a cute little place to get breakfast or lunch. There's plenty of healthy options, I had chicken bowl recently and it was delicious! They also have several kinds of honey and little gifts you can buy. And if you want to check it out on the inside, there's an actual bee hive where you can watch the busy bees! It's also very clean inside and all the employees are friendly. Will definitely be going back 🙂

Superb service, and the food and baked goods were incredible. Had the hive salad with the honey balsamic and wished I could have taken the dressing with me! Husband had a great sandwich. The cupcake I had was great! A nice diversion not far off of I-5

Great menu with unique options and build your own sandwich. Gorgeous wrought iron staircase and outdoor seating. They have a live beehive inside that you can sit next to and watch them work. There's a separate bar section with additional seating. Delicious pastries and baked goods. Friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere and plenty of parking. They also have local products for sale hear such as clothing, honey and soaps.

My wife and I stopped here during a roadtrip. The food and service exceeded all expectations! Betty was kind enough to show us their live beehive in addition to being an excellent waitress. If we pass through Orland again, we will make sure to stop here for food.

The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I loved the decor and atmosphere inside. It's very rustic and chic. Currently in the process of becoming a full service restaurant. Temporarily they are serving breakfast all day, lunch including salads, sandwiches and wraps. They have alcohol, teas, sodas and coffee as well as baked goods. They also sell hats, shirts, honey and other gifts. We had a delicious meal and would definitely recommend having breakfast.

What a great place! We found it on Yelp on our way through the area and are glad we stopped. A birthday party was taking place in a separate part of the restaurant, the food was really good, and the atmosphere was casual. A great stop!

This place is very cute. Love the spiral staircase, the bay windows upstairs, the bar, bee observatory, cute shop attached to the dining area, and the ice cream shop. I sent some pictures to my family and they thought I was vacationing and not in town. Definitely a local gem. I had lunch and dinner at The Hive. Lunch was delicious. I dreamt of that salad for weeks. I had a build your own salad: lettuce, red onions, Portobello mushrooms, roasted red peppers, cucumber with lemon vinaigerate dressing and grilled chicken. Everything was fresh and delicious. The only thing was the chicken didn't look grilled and more like boiled but it was still good. For dinner, I ordered the side salad with champagne vinaigrette, smoked baby back ribs, and shrimp scampi. The salad was delicious but did not look as appetizing as the lunch salad. The salad ingredients were fresh (lettuce, olives, red onions, artichokes and the croutons that tasted like freshed baked garlic bread - delicious). Both entrees we delicious. The ribs were a little to salty for me but my partner thought it was perfect. The rice under the scampi had a bit of sourness to it that I like but my partner thought it was too sour. On my way out, I got a pint of strawberry Gelato. Delicious. Only thing it didn't have on the pint was an ingredient label. Can't go wrong with this place. Worth visiting.
