We knew the campground might be muddy in March, and it was. However we stayed in a drier area. And the owners were working hard to pump out water in places and lay down new gravel. The area near Olema is marshy. The bathroom n showers were clean. There was a rudimentary supply store and the laundry looked clean n nice. Although the campground is an older one and does not have a lot of amenities, it was green and pleasant with some trees. And it is right next to the Point Reyes National Seashore and the Bear Valley Visitor Center. We have a 27 foot travel trailer. The Samuel Taylor Park campground, a few miles away, would have been too cramped for us and too shady to use our solar panel. We are glad we stayed at Olema RV

We stayed in Olema Campground during spring break 2024. We visited Point Reyes, Stinson Beach, Samuel P Taylor, Muir Woods National Monument, and all the local restaurants. We found Olema Campground to be the ideal central base location. Now let's talk weather...The weather forecast was super rainy heading into the start of the week, and the campground contacted us twice to make sure we were aware and prepared for wet and muddy conditions. They offered us a raincheck as well, which was greatly appreciated, but we always wanted to visit the area and figured we would play it by ear. After the main rain Friday and Saturday, they called to let us know the site we had booked was definitely flooded, so they again confirmed if we wanted a rain check, but we opted to switch sites upon arrival. No joke about the flooding ... But luckily it looks worse than reality. Most of the water was 3-4" deep, so we pulled through the watery sections without worry. Our site was mostly dry and only partially flooded about 1" in its low point the one day it rained heavily. They pumped the water levels down a lot during the days, which really made a difference.All-in-all we didn't melt, the campground served its purpose as our home base, and the only detraction was the hum of generators pumping the flooded waterways (we didn't mind).

We had a pleasant stay at the campground, and we might stay again, although it was a bit pricey and the sites are very small and very close to each other. If you are thinking of coming here, I would recommend a couple of things:1. Make sure you know what site you are booking. Some sites have shade and some around the meadow are completely open to the sun.2. The water spigots are not facing down so a lot of water gets lost. If you have a small piece of garden hose with the screw-on end, bring it to control the direction of water.

I want to hear camping with my daughter and my girlfriend and it was absolutely horrible! The place was filthy the bathrooms were destroyed and we had a truck wheel for a fire pit. The staff was extremely rude and the place was really overpriced! It's a super loud party ground campground and it's not actually camping. People stayed up till 3:00 a.m. getting drunk and yelling allNearby activities: It is close to the beach area about a 40-minute drive.

Nice older well Beautiful well maintained campground. Water is sprayed two to three times a day to keep the dust down on the main roads. Nice grassy areas to setup camp in. Beautiful weather, nothing over 68°. While we were there, the neighboring sheep went for an escaped troll through the tent areas and fertilized. Some sites may be difficult to back in if you have a long trailer. Staff is really nice. We were there during the week so it was real quiet.

We camped here with 3 other families over the Labor Day weekend. We had 3 side by side campsites, and it was very comfortable! If you have a large group and book several campsites, this is a good place to camp. I wouldn't camp here with just my family, since each individual campsite is very small.

The campground is in a fantastic location. Close to Pt. Reyes and tons of hiking and site seeing. There is a lot of dust. They try to tame it with water trucks, but everything we owned was covered in black soot/dust. The fires are nice. We booked a pull-in site ***be ware*** it's not a pull through. The hookups were on the opposite side from our trailer so only the power and water would reach. Bring a super long sewer slinky. We were staying long so we were able to tank everything until checkout and just use the dump station. The website is confusing but know if you get a "pull-in" it means the controls are located on the opposite side than what most trailers have. We will definitely return, but pick a different spot on the J side or A side, but avoid J 0.

The campground is crowded with little to no privacy between spaces. Because it’s flat with few trees, most everyone is looking at most everyone. The entrance is an area that looks to be permanent or semi-permanent RVs with portable generators which felt like an even lower budget park within the park. The fire rings are tiny. Our fire area was littered with pieces of singed paper plates. We stayed the first night and then found a different campground the next day (sacrificing two more nights we’d already paid for).

Kind of like camping in your own backyard... yeah, like that. Clean sites and grounds. Not too rowdy, lights out by 10:00pm. Onsite store closes at 5pm. Closest market is only 2 miles away, but you better bring some serious cash. My advice, whatever you think you may need... bring it from home, you'll be glad you did $$$. They pull a quick scam when checking out. campsite charge is for 2 adults, 1 adult plus each child is 5 bucks. Kids are smaller, come on!Nearby activities: Close to Point Reyes Beach.

Very nice Campground. Unfortunately, a bit muddy due to all the rain. They were pumping out the water in some spots during my stay. I stayed in spot 44. Very lush grass and beautiful tall trees in the area. The spot nestles up to the river and a creek. The wi-fi worked well for working but had issues doing anything with my phone. The bathrooms were clean. And laundry area up front by the office was huge. And there's a post office. I didn't get a chance to explore the office or store during my stay as it was closed when I got in and didn't get a chance to go back. Spots have water and electric only but there is a dump site just south of the office. They also recycle which is nice. During my stay I saw what appeared to be goats or sheep roaming the area. Seems like they use them for possible natural lawn control. Kinda neat. I would definitely come back when in the area.

Great campground if are in a loud group, not great if you want peace and quiet. This is a large, pretty, well maintained, dog friendly private campground only a few minute drive from hiking trails of Point Reyes National Seashore (5 minutes to Point Reyes Station). It's expensive and has wifi, although wifi is not great depending on your site. Large groups of people bring their large RVs, trailers and tents and book the group sites or multiple sites together - sometimes groups of 15-20 people. From the afternoon on, there is often loud music from multiple groups, despite the campground rules stating NO LOUD music. On my second and last night there, one side of me was loud hip hop music (like I was in a club) and the other side was karaoke. The music was turned off by the 10pm quiet hour, but not sure if that was due to complaints by other campers or by the campground staff. The NO LOUD music was obviously not enforced. It is the only campground in the area which hosts every type of rig and often has vacancies when other campgrounds are fully booked. I prefer State or National Park camping but options are limited in the area with my 18 foot trailer and not booking months ahead of time.

It's the only campground in the area (other than IN Pt Reyes preserve) so it's worth staying if you want to be close to the park. Tent camping sites are just ok. Basically large open grass fields with tent sites around the perimeter. Very little privacy or seclusion. Fire rings are pretty small, can barely fit one Dutch oven in it. Bathrooms are very good for a campground. Clean, functional, warm water for showers, etc... Wifi was very very poor, almost non functionalIt's very close to 2 roads, so lots of vehicle noise. $52 for a tent site for one nite seems pretty steep, but they've got the market cornered, so not much choice. We will stay again if we aren't going to do a hike-in backpack trip in the park, but it's just OK. Nothing amazing.

We were evacuated from our home in Georgetown CA due to the Mosquito Fire. We called Olema Campground and told them our situation and they were very accommodating. We had camped there a few years back and remembered it as being a family and pet friendly campground. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The campground was very well kept and the bathrooms were always clean. They had showers and a laundry facility which was great to have. They allow dogs which was also a big plus since we have a golden retriever that we had to bring along with us. I would highly recommend this campground to all our friends.

The location is beautiful. That is what the 3 stars is for. The woman who runs the office is not a nice person at all. All they care about is money. They do not care about people. I guess they know people want to come for the location so they don't have to treat people with any kindness. It just affects the experience and leaves me feeling like a little like I want to take a shower after dealing with people like that. Clearly this campground got sold and is under new ownership and either they are the ones running it also or whomever they hired to run it no longer have the same personal and friendly vibe that previous ones did. We had our family reunion here for years. It is night and day difference with our experience with the office staff. We are rethinking if we will even have it here again after all these years of being loyal campers and customers. I am willing to spend more somewhere else to be treated with the dignity and kindness all people deserve to be treated with.

Anticipating traffic, I arrived an hour early on Nov 4th. 2022 for 2 nights. I was checked in at noon, but was told not to go to my campsite until 1 pm even though there was no one there. Then, they locked and closed the office as soon as I got out. I saw lots of people waited outside whileeating lunch in front of the closed office. Great power control. This campground is okay for me. I've been to fantastic campgrounds by the coast in the last 2 decades. Most sites have electric and water in the back. Front sites have full hook up, but it's so tight next to another site, why even camp. There are tent sites as well. This place is a mile away from Pt. Reyes Bear Valley Visitors Center. The drive to the ocean is far. Backpacking in Pt Reyes is way better, but if you can't backpack, find another campground along the coast. This is a flat campground. Some campers threw their trash on top of the trash bin. Restrooms have flush toilet. No bear, but lots of Raccoon. Keep an eye on your food at all times day and night. They have a very weak free wifi service. Dog friendly, but watch your step. Most outdoorsy owners don't pick up their dog poop. I don't have to go here anymore. Some people love this place, but it's just not for me. No photos. I'll just end up showing grass and a few trees on a flat area. 👎

Liked this campground. Good size spots. Little store, post office and laundromat at the campground if you need it. Nice playground for kids and dog run for your dogs. Stayed here a couple of times. Quiet and clean. About 20 minutes to the nearest beach.

The staff is very nice. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly. However, it would be nice if they told you the price was $75 a night to park in a lake.

This area of the Bay is very scenic, full of tourists and BUSY on the weekends! For the price of a site, its worth getting away for a day or two. Yes, the place is old, musty, in need of work and not a 'Hilton' by any means. You are CAMPING...so its rustic, dirty, dusty and at times, muddy. You are near the coast so that means fog/drizzle and damp conditions: bring a fly and tarp for under/over the tent. As of 8/2022 STRICT mask-mandate in the office due to Covid. You MUST HAVE A MASK to check in or buy one at the door. Also office closed 12-1pm for lunch (door is locked).Lots of noise in the tent areas at night due to lack of Camp Ground Security, and no on-site Camp Host to provide any relief. Quiet time is 10pm to 8am which a number of folks don't adhere too and unfortunately is NOT enforced! BEGGING office staff to be more proactive pointing out quiet hours upon check in (especially the tent areas).Weekends are the worst with singing, loud drunken voices, barking dogs, car alarms going off at all hours, and antics from inconsiderate folk there to 'have a good time'.It wasn't perfect but we'll be back. Where else can you find a spot in Marin County under $100 a night?

Wonderful campground except for a tick crawled onto the top mesh of my tent with blazing fast speed and stayed there until I carefully removed it despite its exceptional grip and threw it into the campfire. It might explain why the next tent’s dog kept barking last night.

I randomly decided that I wanted to go to Alamere falls which is super close to these campgrounds. I was able to reserve a spot the same day. Each spot has a table and a little area where you can make some food with a fire. You're also able to park your car right on the little spot that you reserve. The actual campgrounds are clean and seem to be taken care of. The bathrooms are nice and they have showers as well. If you're looking for a place near Alamere falls that is nice and affordable then this is the spot. The staff was helpful and kind. During the night time. It was peaceful and quiet. I would highly recommend camping out at Olema campground I would personally camp there again

Pretty good campground with kind and helpful staff. The place could use a few updates and it would be nice if their mower didn’t leave behind grass clippings (because our feet tracked them into the tent) but we had a great time and met some friendly neighbors. We’ll be back for sure!

Easy access for all vehicles, nice sized sites, convenient facilities. The only negative we had was near-constant harassment by yellowjackets. Store is small, so don't plan on using it for anything but basics.
