If you're traveling through Lassen or just want to get an amazing sandwich, this is the place. We went to see the Subway Lava Tubes in Lassen, a fun little walk. We decided to have lunch here because it's some place we've never been to and they did not disappoint. My wife got the Rueben, and I got the BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato, avacado). My sandwich was good, and fries are fresh. The real prize was my wife's Rueben. My wife says it's the best she's had off the East Coast. Since I've never been to the East Coast, it's the best I've ever had. I highly recommend the stop. The restaurant is clean and cozy, and the staff are amazing.

So impressed! This place was great for our family during our weekend trip at Hat Creek. They have home made bread, buns, cookies, etc. AKA its REAL food. They also have vegetarian options, which can be scarce from Sacramento to Portland.The place was remarkably well kept and clean especially considering the average guest is probably coming in from an excursion outdoors. The staff were extremely friendly and calming to be around. The pricing was super reasonable especially considering the work put into the food. There is an option to eat indoors or outdoors. We chose to sit on the patio, where we noticed other guests had leashed dogs with them while eating (so cool!) and the view on the deck is definitely worth going even if you aren't hungry-they serve wine and beer as well.We will be back for sure!

My Sunday morning drive led me to JJ's Cafe on Highway 89. The smokey air was not ideal to drive any further. Smokey skies and empty streets. Fortunately, the waiter greeted me with a big smile and welcomed me inside. Their wide selection of breakfast and lunch menus was perfect for the occasion. I opted to pick their house scrambler with a side of pancake and a glass of orange juice. The mozzarella cheese and mushrooms was a great addition to the mixture of ingredients. No regrets. A well balanced breakfast.

Love stopping here traveling with my wife. Food is always good and so is the service. Waitress is always friendly. Highly recommend. We visited yesterday April 28, 2022 with my mom.

We stopped here for a break on our way to Yosemite. Little human rode his scooter and walked in front of the entrance. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. It is a small cafe but they beer (!) and burgers!!The J&J cheeseburger was really good. I was suprised how delicous and tasty it was. We also ordered pancake that was nore than enough for one person. They have a box for hikers and showers. Bonus: WIFI where you get no signal! So you basically connect to the world again. I had a very pleasant stay. It is times/places like these that make you endure the road.

Definitely worth the stop, especially if you hiking the PCT. The burger and fries were good. The milkshake was the best milkshake along the entire PCT. They provide free WIFI. They provide a water spigot outside for hikers to refill water bottles before long dry exposed stretch of trail ahead. Servers were all very friendly to us dirty and stinky hikers. Nice outdoor patio area to dine.

We stopped here on our way to our Butte Lake campsite earlier this month. I had 14 college students with me, so we were a big group. The women working here were amazing. They quickly took our order, brought our drinks out, and got our food put together in a timely manner. We mostly had sandwiches and breakfast and it was so good. Also, they take credit cards, which was also a major selling point in why we stopped here. I can't say enough good things about our experience.

This place has surprised the most in 20 years. It is small and easy to drive past.They have not only coffee and popular drinks but also have very good Hot Chocolate.Now for the most amazing thing is that if you are in a hurry, they will bring your food into the parking lot to soeed you on your way. Very caring people are there to sever.

This is the best spot to eat your breakfast! I am riding through all of America with my bicycle and needed some proper energy to start the day with. This delicious breakfast was served. Also the people were chatting with eachother, young and old. What a great atmosphere:))

This is a true gem. An old time, home town cafe. Most of the customers were local and were greeted by staff as friends. We were treated so well. Attentive, friendly service.The food was great too. I had the home smoke pastrami sandwhich and the pastrami is all that and more. My husband had the party melt and said it was great. We'll go back for sure!I want to try their home made cookie/ice cream treats. They were sold out the day I was there. It's a reason to go back on its own!

It's ok. Only restaurant in the area. Stop seasoning the hashbrowns. I don't like reading a menu outsode and having to memorize my famalies meal, then pay. Hire a waitress. Be a better restaurant. You're the only option!

Pretty long wait times recently, I understand it’s been busier with PCT hikers and such. However service here recently hasn’t been the best. We waited over an hour on one day for 4 of us to eat, and 45 mins on a different day for 2 people to eat. I don’t think the servers/cooks realize how long these times are. The food is still pretty good but also portions are becoming smaller and smaller too. Overall the prices don’t reflect the serving sizes as well as the long wait times. Sincerely hope it gets better soon.

Fresh food, made to order. Breakfast all day! Good portion sizes too. Well known spot for PCT hikers to stop at.Friendly staff and clean bathrooms.The only place to eat there besides the gas station and worth the stop if you are ready for breakfast or lunch.

Food, service, and friendly atmosphere were all terrific. This is not a fancy-pants overpriced tiny-portion chic art-food "happening". It's real people preparing real food kindly and with minimal overhead costs so you get the best meal for the least cost.
