A little wind-swept shack on the side of 395. Many signs for it leading up. Jerky and chili mango were very good. Lady was very nice and offered tastings of all the different jerky favors. They have a variety of other snacks too.It is pricey tho, at over 20$ for 80g. It is fresh jerky but not sure everyone's prepared to spend over 20 bucks for a small bag.

Gus's Jerky is by far the best jerky I've ever had. It's a little pricey, but if you can afford it, it's worth it. Try the Cowboy which puts any gas station jerky to shame. The Teriyaki and Sweet & Spicy jerky is moist and flavorful. Other jerky I have tried is overly salty with sub par spices. I'm usually disappointed by it, especially after knowing what Gus's tastes like.They have other products as well like local honey, olives, and dried fruits. I stop here for the Jerky but I am sure the other products are great as well.

Pretty good jerky! I highly suggest getting the hot pepper jerky. Inside there’s lots of different snack items for your long road trip along 395. Prices are reasonable when it comes to kraft jerky. There’s plenty of signs on the road to warn you that this jerky stand is coming up and it works even if you don’t like jerky go in and say hello to Gus he will give you a free sample and it might change your mind

Yes don't be fooled by the funny look of this place. This is a must-stop iconic and classic highway 395 road stop. They have a great selection of local food jerky olives nuts... there's even a little petting zoo here! great place to stop to stretch your legs and buy some stuff you don't really need

This gem of a spot is a favorite on the 395. A pit stop worth it if you happen to enjoy an array of jerky, nuts, and dried fruit and of course honey. LThe owner Gus is very nice and has good knowledge about his offerings. The peanut brittle is so fresh and comes highly recommend.

Gotta stop and check this place out. A little hole in the wall but some good flavors going on. If the garlic chips are available, get a pack. Or 3. You will NOT be disappointed.

Got the brisket jerky for $12 and loved it. Perfectly chewy and soft without being overly dry and salty like what they sell at Whole Foods. You can sample what they have on offer before buying. Way

Great stop for great quality beef jerky. A tad on the more expensive side however worth the cost. They also had other selections however I did not notice them since I had beef jerky on my mind. Washrooms available with purchase.

Samples their honey it was goooooodddd 🤤🤤🤤 saw they sell dry goods and jerky. Got some clover honey but they have many options. It is great that they have testers so you can try their honeys and dry goods. Would definitely pass by again for some.more honey on my next trip to Bishop.

Gus gave us a sample of cowboy jerky. It tasted good so we bought a package. It was so dry & spicy we spit it out. Yuck. Tasted nothing like the sample. Get the teriyaki. Honey sample was good but no small jars of orange honey. Price was too high.

Driven by here 4 or 5 times a year and finally decided to stop. Terrible, over processed, obscenely expensive jerky. $23 for 4oz!!

Wonderful jerky buying experience. Gus comes in fast to offer the free samples, and we were immediately pleased. I do not think the cowboy beef jerky is for everyone, as it is quite dry and thin, but intensely beefy. The teriyaki was absolutely great. When we came a hen and her chicks were poking about in the brush behind the shop and the staff were barbecuing up some sausage that they kindly offered to us as a treat in addition to our purchase. A little surreal overall, but worth our brief stop for sure.

It is expensive, but probably the best jerky i've ever had. I am from the east coast and have visited this place twice, 9 years apart. The Teriyaki is really wonderful and the kids enjoyed a trail mix as well.

Found this spot by driving on 395. The jerky is good. Nice little hole in the wall spot as well. Don't judge a building by its cover.😊

I was so excited to come here on my 395 roadtrip and film some content to share this place and buy some great road snacks. Well I hadn’t even walked all the way in when I took my phone out to film and the girl working in the store told me no filming allowed and told me to delete my footage ? Why ? I was caught off guard but put my phone away I proceeded to look through the jerky as I still wanted to buy some and asked what were the top sellers and the girl just looked up and shrugged. I understand places not wanting to be filmed and I am ok with that but I do not understand places being rude to customers. If anything that would of been free publicity for them and it would of been a mutual benefit but ok I guess this wasn’t the place. I’m glad I didn’t buy anything it seemed dirty and overpriced for the amount of product you get. There are more local jerky places along the 395 to try.

So, I followed the sign for jerky for about a hundred miles. I was taken off guard with how small the shop was, but don't let that fool you. This was the best jerky I've ever had in my life hands down. It pulls apart so perfectly and feels as if it melts in your mouth.

Hands down, I'm beyond excited that we stopped here. Saw their sign about 80 miles away and just had to stop to try out some fresh jerky. Extremely bummed I didn't buy more than one bag being that I live over 5 hrs. away. Lady behind the counter was patient and gave samples. Definitely worth buying more than one bag! Store was closed on way home, next time we'll stock up!

This place is great. They have supported my Army daughter over 10 years sending her Jerky!!!Small business, located on 395 to Vegas! Stop in one of the shops and have a Sample.Honey straws are great too!!!!

It is really good super moist. The store clerk which I think was the owner was super sweet and gave us tons of samples. They also have wild flower honey which helps with allergies if you have it once a day. I had a great experience, I suggest stopping by. :)

So I pass by this place a few times. Today they are open and I stop on in. Super glad I did. Tasted the Sweet&Spicy, Teriyaki Beef and Peppered Beef. All all really tasty, so I got a few bags. So from now on on my way through here I will definitely be stopping by. Oh and the young lady behind the counter is super nice!

Holy heck. Amazing. There jerky? To die for. Honey? Will cure you of your scoliosis or whatever you have. Delicious. They also have chickens. Not for sell I think, they're just chilling.

A long time ago this place was legit. They gave you a decent amount of jerky for what you paid. Now you get the tiniest little nugget in a vacuum packed piece of plastic and you will pay $20 for it. completely not worth the stop here. If you're headed Northbound go to Mahogany Meats they are pricey but they give you a lot for the same amount of money.

Yup, finally decided to stop by after seeing those signs along 395 for years. The jerky here is all pre-packaged, which is fine, if it tasted Really Good! as the signs say. I had a sample of the cowboy and spicy jerkies and thought they were OK but too salty. I did end up buying a pack of each though b/c I felt bad. I know I was being a sucker but now I can continue to drive by with a clear conscience and save my jerky money for Mahogany Smoked Meats in Bishop, which might be a tad more expensive but WAY better. Sorry, Gus!
