Please do better than chain stores and not breed/sell guinea pigs and rabbits. Shelters and rescues are overwhelmed. There's been even rabbits housed with guinea pigs which is a bad idea. Adopt, don't shop.Edit: They don't care about the well-being of animals and haven't learned. After several people telling them how bad it is to keep guinea pigs and rabbits together, they still are. They could have easily moved the guinea pigs to the other pen. Adopt, don't shop!

Had all of the horse care products I was looking for at competitive prices. I was able to pick up the items then and 6 having to have it shipped and wait a few days, or drive out of town.

Great products for home, garden and pets in every price range. Friendly, knowledgeable staff members answered all my million questions and showed me where to find what I was looking for. They even took special care of the Coopers hawk that flew into the barn to drink from the display fountain. Definitely a great place!

Best pet store in the county. Fair prices, nice people, knowledgeable and helpful. They have stuff for house press and farm animals. They also have nice gift items and always have stuff for holidays. I love supporting local businesses!

I have always loved visiting this store, everyone is so friendly and helpful. I love to go inside and just look at everything expecially the outside garden area and to go see the chickens outside. My turtle loves this store too because it's where he gets his crickets from all the time

I always drive up here from Ventura. They have the best organic chicken scratch feed for my hen's. And the staff is way friendly and eager to help. The country store really feels country and warm. Another little Ojai treasure.

Great people, lots of help, and good prices for products. Also their sales people are extremely knowledgeable about their merchandise so if you have any questions or want to upgrade you pet diet this is the place to go.

I bought 6 chicks in April and 2 of them were roosters... i asked them the odds of getting males and the woman told me they are 90% sure they’re all females, but they don’t give you money back or switch it out if not... But considering her sureness on their sex, i got them anyways. I’m super disappointed with this establishment and won’t be purchasing animals from them in the future. Would not recommend for buying animals!

Friendliest place in the Ojai Valley! My dog buddy will only eat food bought at Wachter. Love the hardworking yet friendly staff. If they don't have it, you probably don't need it.

Katie & Laurie & Sam are WONDERFUL, but yesterday I had to get a leash and I needed it in a hurry, and paid $22 for a 6' lead. That's reprehensible. Wachters gets that stuff from China, for a pittance; so I can't blame the high prices on Trump. When will retailers return to giving their customers a fair shake, price-wise? I realize this is rip-off time around the world, but really, Katie? Still, it's my own damn fault for not going to The Wharf to shop, but when you need something then and now, you need it! Otherwise, Wachters is great, and has treated me decently. Also, it's a great place to meet women.
