We went to LLL Reptile to pick some items for our tortiose and we have also been in search for a new addition to our family. Shawn was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and patient while we bombarded him with questions. He listened attentively, answered all our inquiries, and gave us ample time to consider our decision to bring home a baby python to add to our family. He also assisted us in selecting the appropriate tank size and provided recommendations on basic items we would need. He didn't just sell us the snake and that was it. He told us if there are any questions or concern, to call. The care for these animals are outstanding.

This place is awesome. I recently got into this hobby and have gone all in. My first build was a vivarium fitted with a waterfall. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and got me started on the right track. Everyone who has helped me was absolutely amazing. They have a huge selection of reptiles, although I only purchase the dart frogs. The crickets prices are the cheapest around! Best of all they have started a rewards program and you can earn nice discounts.

I'm a teacher looking to get another classroom pet that will be a good balance of "wow" factor, easy to care for, cheap to feed, not too big, small footprint, has a kid-proof enclosure, and affordable. It also has to be semi self-sufficient due to weekends the school is closed. I've had reptiles for my entire life but hadn't dabbled in anything tropical yet. The store is making these beautiful terrariums for tropical animals, and I was sold.I had TONS of questions for Jesus, who diligently took the time to answer them all. We easily spent an hour just going over logistics. He showed me the options for equipment and animals, explained how everything would work, and was able to help me make contingency plans for various issues that might arise (as all teachers do 🤣) over the weekends or days I was out. I wanted to be as informed as possible so I could teach my students about their new pets.I was very happy and learned a ton, and I'm excited for my students to get to experience a mini ecosystem! I've been a customer of LLL since I was a child and am so excited they are still giving the best customer service 20 years later. Thank you, Jesus, for helping inspire the next generation of reptile lovers!

My boyfriend and I receive AMAZING service every single time we walk into LLLReptile.**Jesus, Thomas, Cesar**Incredibly knowledgeable and encouraging. Jesus helped me get everything for our Ball Python (Miss Onna), then Thomas and Cesar helped us pick and get everything we needed for our Tegu (Mr. Or Miss Mooshu). All three of these guys are outstanding. We asked every question in the book and were never made to feel like we were a bother. I go in there at least once a week to get supplies and bombard them with questions and every time they are ready and willing, I walk out knowing so much more than I did before! My pretty boy from LLL! The staff were all super helpful and the chameleon we got was really healthy and adapted to his new home right away. He was eating like a champ from day 1 and not scared at all because the staff at the store took the time to socialize him. Plus, they have all the supplies you need to build great reptile homes.

This store is in downtown Oceanside, near lots of cool places. Once you come inside, the first thing you notice is the strong, not-so-great smell. That's bound to happen with reptile stores. The next you notice how big this place is! This LLL is much bigger than the one in Escondido. It is probably triple the size. They have enclosures for all types of pets, things to put inside of them, cleaning supplies, nutrients, food, then of course animals you can buy. They have snakes, frogs, turtles, lizards, geckos, spiders, and more.

I've been coming here for 23 years and have always had a good experience. The staff are very knowledgeable and very helpful. Last Friday one of the employees took a good amount of time to talk with me and make sure I had everything I need and knew what to do for a new snake set-up. Reccomend 100%

Went to see the reptiles with my son. We made the decision to add a bearded dragon to the family as soon as we get our apartment in a month. We held the bearded dragon and the boa constrictor. They have cool amphibians and arachnids. Cool place. The customer service is very good as well as knowledgeable. Thanks everyone.

LLL Reptile helped my 11yo son's Christmas wish for a Bearded Dragon come true! Spike, the juvenile beardy, enjoys eating crickets and his fruits (not so much veggies). The reptiles at LLL Reptile seem well-cared and the store sells everything your pet reptile will need. The Staff, especially Courtney, seem to enjoy their job and are helpful and knowledgeable. LLL Reptile also boarded Spike (very affordably) when we went on vacation. Highly recommend!

I absolutely love this store! My son is a HUGE reptile lover so we visit LLL in Oceanside often. The employees are so knowledgeable about all the animals and this is the only store I would recommend buying a pet from. We recently had a great experience buying a new crested gecko from Rene who helped tremendously!! We have had bad experiences at petsmart & petco and have never been let down at LLL. Highly recommend!

I go here all the time for my snail 🐌 Very knowledgeable and friendly staff! I also got all I needed for my turtle here and the staff was super helpful. They walked the store with me and made sure I got all I needed to keep both my shelled beauties healthy and happy!

Their bearded dragons are all being put together so that they are all missing the ends of their tails, with wood chips for substrate, and crickets crawling around everywhere (a deadly combination that will surely lead to impaction and painful deaths). I recently visited this store because I ran out of my roaches that get shipped to my house. I had seen baby beardies there before with missing tails and water dishes in their tank (too humid for that in SoCal very near the coast; risk for fungal infections and rot). This time when I went there were 4 baby beardies, and 3/4 of them seemed extremely lethargic and had trouble opening their eyes all the way, all were missing parts of their tails. Crickets were crawling all over the cage (causes stress and potential biting from crickets). There were also small gnats in the enclosure. Then there was an older beardie with his own tank who was labeled "Baby Beardie with Nipped Arm," the arm was completely gone, probably because of a sibling which could have been prevented. It was also missing the end of its tail. They need better conditions!Edit: I’m glad to learn that the nipping wasn’t a LLLReptile issue. I’m still concerned about the free-roaming crickets mixed with substrate that looks like it could cause impaction. Three of the babies did appear very lethargic, slim, and uninterested in the food, which I thought could be from consuming substrate. Has LLLReptile considered using hard tile to reduce the probability of painful impaction deaths?I understand that the babies came nipped, but as a large distributor it would be morally responsible to make sure you are sourcing from somewhere that provides adequate conditions for baby beardies.

I was impressed by the availability of reptile supplies. I heard through the grapevine that the dart frogs have been hybrid. I can't confirm this but the prices for what they have is very reasonable. I will definitely come by for more supplies.Edit: added another star. I am glad to hear the dart frogs are pure breed. 👌

It feels silly to leave a review for this place because every local reptile lover already knows this place is the bees knees. Even if you don't have your own cold blooded baby at home, this place is like a zoo with only the absolute best critters to look at. Last time I went in, their tortoise was free roaming. What a cutie pie. Really, why would you go anywhere else?

It's really hard not to wanna take all those adorable babies home. All the senior staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait but that's just because they give excellent thorough service. All animals are very healthy and we'll taken care of and LLL always gets new stuff in. Love it here.
