We shared the garlic gold pizza and Caesar salad. Both were very good! The pizza is available with traditional rolled crust and thin crust.The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The venue was rustic and beautiful. Excellent for hosting an event.Dietary restrictions: The only gluten free item on the menu is the minestrone soupParking: Lots of spots in front of the building. More available on the side.

Had lunch here today and had a great experience. The staff was accommodating and super friendly. The owner spoke with us and was genuinely kind & obviously cared about her guests. My daughter ordered the ravioli and it was delicious! I was able to get my favorite cider as well. The front patio was pretty and relaxing which is where we dined because we had our dog with us. I used to dine here as a child with my grandparents and have great memories of it so was really happy to come back and enjoy my visit so much. I can see why they’ve been a family business for 100 years!Parking: Parking lot is shared by the local businesses on this street but we had no problems finding parking. Also, the town is small so you don’t have to walk far.Kid-friendliness: They were great with my kids and there were other guests that had kids there as well.

Excellent breakfast….Although heard they just sold. So not sure if the same after new owner.Only a few restaurants in this lil town…Had limited hrs of operations. Usually weekends …always check in traveling mid weekCoffee and pancakes were wonderful….enjoyed both very much.

We rented the Bocce Ballroom for our sons Graduation party and it was amazing! I have been dining at UH since I was a teen and Ive always dreamed if hosting an event there. The room is timeless! We had 100 guest and it never felt overwhelming. There was plenty if room for everyone to enjoy themselves. The food was served hot and there was always plenty if it. As always it was sooo good!I highly recommend the Bocce Ballroom for your large events. It’s truly a magical space.

This place is a gem! The owner, Barbara and her family, made us feel so welcome. A regular named Skip, gave us a venue tour and then we stayed for dinner. All of the food was incredible, especially the bruschetta. We absolutely can’t wait to return! Thanks Barbara!

This is a true local gem with so much charm. Beautiful outdoor patio, flowers, greenery, historic decor, and you got to love the live piano music!!I highly recommend the garlic gold pizza, it’s delicious. Love the warm bread rolls that come with every meal and the carrot cake is to die for, it’s sooo moist! Wonderful service as well, great energy, friendly, and really make sure you are taken care of.The Union is also a beautiful event space and as you can see from the photos they go above and beyond to make it special for you with a gorgeous set up and great meals.

I have been a patron of the Union Hotel Restaurant in Occidental for over 50 years; from family gatherings in the dining room when I was a child, to drinks and laughter in the bar with my friends, the Union has never disappointed.Barbara Gonnella and family are the best! They always radiate gracious hospitality, making you feel welcomed at their establishment and ensuring you depart satisfied and smiling.As a child I still recall seeing ladies wearing white dresses with red-checkered aprons walking to work a the Union and the aroma of ravioli sauce wafting through the town in the morning. While the aprons may have faded into the past, the Union's tradition of making quality food has not.The Union's hand-made raviolis, minestrone and bruschetta are delectable, but you can't go wrong with most any item on the menu, from pizzas to the main dishes, all are excellent and the portions are more than satisfying. Don't forget to grab a hand-made baked treat to take home!Highly recommend to anyone in search of a family-style dining experience that warms the soul. Thank you, Barbara!

If you have ever dined at the Union Hotel in the past, beware, it's a shadow of what it used to be. This restaurant has a very small menu, with fairly high prices and food that is just okay. The service was good however. It's almost more of a pizzeria now than an Italian restaurant. The days of family-style authentic Italian cuisine are over at the Union Hotel, and my patronage after decades is over as well.

I just want to say how amazing and friendly this place is. During Covid last year we stumbled upon this gem on a moms trip out. We sat enjoyed some great food and drinks while we relaxed. We loved it so much we brought our children back thanksgiving weekend and received the same kind amazing service and even got recommendations from Michelle on where to take our kids for fun. Fast forward to yesterday, my family had returned again but was having a rough day with issues from another hotel and no cell service. As I explained to Michelle was was going on she let me use her WiFi so I could try and find somewhere else to stay. She also gave me some amazing homemade carrot cake to brighten my day. The food and staff here are truly a treasure and everyone should go here.

This place is a must if you're in the point reyes area. It has a rich history going back into the 1800s. The food is delicious as it has been for decades, my family has been coming here since the 1960s. The shops in the area are also nice to walk through before coming here.

What a great time we had when stopped at the Union Hotel for lunch!The service was very good and friendly and made you feel welcome at the restaurant.The menu was served Family Style, which included breads, salad, soup, beans and the huge entre! Very delicious food and bring an appetite! We had enough food to take home for several meals.

This is a family style Italian restaurant, bar, and café. We just had a pizza, but everyone gets minestrone soup and salad as well. The soup is house-made and delicious. Most meals on the menu are meant for two. Had a great chat with our server and the owner. After a walk, we came back and had Mokas, which were very good. Worth the trip to Occidental!

I can’t say enough lovely things about the Union restaurant! My Mom, Aunt and I stopped in for lunch last weekend and our expectations were exceeded in every way. The family-run establishment is steeped with historical charm, Barbara the owner and her family were beyond welcoming and even gave us a slice of carrot cake for the road… some of the BEST carrot cake I’ve ever had by the way! The bruschetta is also the best I’ve ever had, perfect in both flavor and texture. My aunt and I’s burgers and fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection, and my Mom thoroughly enjoyed her salad with a side of a meatball. Our server was also genuinely kind and very helpful. All in all, this place is a gem and worth the trip to an out of the way little town!

Had the BEST time having drinks and appetizers at Union Hotel. Staff was amazing, enjoyed reminiscing about CYO camp days and the history of Occidental. Food was great and the was service unparalleled. Amazing family-fun restaurant and business! Gifted us with a delicious pastry as we departed!

The union is an all time favorite when I’m in the area! They have a super great deal on Tuesdays for pizza and we always make sure to stop by on the last day for one last bite before we head out of town! Great food, great people!

Every year on a Monday close to Christmas, the owners of the Union Hotel provide the community a free fun family night out. There are 4500 cookies to choose from, along with hot apple cider and caroling. It has been our tradition for years to attend and it truly gets you in the Christmas spirit. The decorations through out the building are a sight to behold. My wife looks forward to the ginger bread stars hanging in the cafe part of the building. Normally when eating here, I get the rib-eye steak with all the trimmings, but this time I had the pizza. Never a bad meal at the Union Hotel !!!!!

So excited to get some fettuccine for my birthday, they didn't have any. They suggested fettuccine sauce on spaghetti noodles :( I was very disappointed because the last time I came here it was more of a mom & pop restaurant. It looks like someone bought it & modernized it, how sad. Will not be back...
