Great inn in the middle of cute little town, Occidental. They offer some of their guest rooms for pet(s). We stayed with our little Frenchie. The room is spacious with a jacuzzi bathtub, a separate shower and a separate bathroom. We stayed during winter but I think the place would be more lovely with flowers in spring. The lobby is very nice with vintage furniture and coffee station. They offered breakfast and the selections were yogurt and granola. croissants, bacon, hard boiled eggs, fruits, coffee and tea. The staff is friendly and helpful. The parking is limited but I saw that there was a construction to make more parking spaces going on.

A perfect place to spend a few nights while visiting the nearby wineries and the coast. Room was clean and spacious for the two of us. The Inn was very quiet at night - very easy walking to the main street in Occidental where you could shop and dine. They went out of their way to find us a driver for a day trip to some excellent wineries and all our interaction with the staff was excellent. My only disappointment was the continental style breakfast - it would have been nice to have a few more options (loved the croissant though!). Certainly recommend this inn!Rooms: clean and comfortableFood & drinks: Walking distance to several

Beautiful Bed and Breakfast on the hill behind the Altamont and the Union Hotel, Nice rooms with jet tubs and fireplaces, very clean, very comfortable beds, continental breakfast with homemade granola, yogurt, fruit, croissants, maple glazed bacon, scrambled eggs if you ask, and plenty of fresh coffee. There is also a complimentary wine service for an hour in the early evening. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, and overall its a really quiet place to relax with rooms that look out over the beautiful gardens and large water fountain. The original building is from 1874, and the rooms that are above the courtyard have their own balconies and a view of downtown Occidental, a very charming place which has quieted down significantly since the pandemic, but still has its charms and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I loved this little town. Our stay was just perfect! The staff was super friendly, our safari Room was so nice and the property was just beautiful! We had the continental breakfast and it was the best by far I have ever had. Homemade granola and blueberry muffins, greek yogurt with fresh fruit and the best bacon cooked perfectly too. Our 2 nights stay with our fur baby was the best weekend...close to Dillon Beach and the redwoods was so beautiful! I highly recommend Inn at Occidental a wonderful place to stay and to get away for the weekend. I hope to come back some day and see more what's in your lovely town. Thank you for your warm welcomes and our comfortable visit.

I did not know what to expect as I've never been here before but I have lived in Santa Rosa all my life. this was just a private nook in the beautiful town of Occidental.Upon arriving you can't help but notice the breathtaking stairways and all of the different shapes that the cottages make and it all works to make this beautiful inn. I had room 15 up at the top of the stairs perfect large jacuzzi in there plus a shower as well. The bed was amazing. I enjoyed every moment! Definitely five stars you will not be disappointed*****enjoy your stay. I did!!! Oh and by the way... There are so many little shops around there you're surrounded by food and shopping and so much to do. Have fun.

We only stayed one night - in the two bedroom cottage. The staff is very sweet and helpful. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. We had our pups and it was easy to get them in and out to go potty, etc.The breakfast was fantastic. The really great thing was that I ordered a cheese platter, small cake, roses, and champagne for my friend turning 50. Upon arrival - it was set up beautifully and the cake was delicious.Thank you for a great stay!

Had a wonderful experience, lovely town and garden. The tub was beyond luxurious and the fireplace definitely got a lot of use. We didn’t turn on the tv during our stay or even looked at our phones. We also enjoyed the wine hour on the wrap around porch and caught some sun in the garden next to the fountain. Just had a fantastic time!

The inn is clean, the rooms are pretty good, and the staff is reasonably helpful. They have a pleasant courtyard and they serve a cheerful wine hour.Three stars because the breakfast is downright lacking. Apparently they lost their chef sometime back and can't find a replacement. In the meantime, they serve yogurt and fruit in cardboard to-go containers along with unpeeled hardboiled eggs. Disappointing. The staff all seemed to be doing their best. I think I only saw three people running the whole place during our three night stay.Place would be four or five stars if they could find someone to make a couple of simple coffee cakes and some scrambled eggs.

Awesome, awesome place to stay. The service here is outstanding. Tina, Jerry and Marilyn know the names of all guests and are willing to bend over backwards for them, giving custom advice on places to go, things to see. They are more than happy to make all reservations and set up your whole trip to the region. Rooms are all themed in a classy way. Breakfast is incredibly good and they will customize for children. Will definitely be back again. Highly recommended.

The Inn is lovely. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, although somewhat dark. Nice amenities. We were in the courtyard. The rooms inside the inn were much nicer.I had asked about stairs when booking and was told only 4 or 5 steps to the room. This wasn't the case, which made it difficult for a person with back problems. The area is beautiful and includes some tasty restaurants.Downside is the food. They have a granola, yogurt and fruit bar which was good. However the hot entries both days were very disappointing. We didn't finish them. Lemon baked eggs with toast one day and very dry and tasteless waffles the next.

What an absolute GEM!! This is a long overdue review, but sheltering in place has provided the time and opportunity to reflect. My wife and I stayed at Inn at Occidental March, 2017 and had an amazing time. Our room had a rustic theme and it was pristine and CLEAN! The staff was amazing and the breakfast was surprisingly good. We will definitely return for a visit once the world returns to some sort of normalcy.

The inn is in a beautiful setting. The bathtub was really relaxing. We were pretty disappointed with the bed. It was not comfortable. The air conditioner rattled throughout the night, making it hard to sleep. We ordered our breakfast (a waffle and a parfait) but it was not ready an hour later. We just left because we had things to do. They may have just been really busy, I don't know. Hopefully that was an anomaly. But if not I'd recommend improving their system so they don't lose business.

I cannot say enough good things about the Inn at Occidental! My husband and I chose to have our elopement there last week and it was truly a magical and special experience. Marilyn with the Inn went above and beyond to prepare/plan for our day and make sure that myself and the groom and all of our guests were taken care of.We chose to have the ceremony in the garden of the Inn and it was an absolutely gorgeous setting. Their elopement package includes so much and all of the vendors (flowers, cake, photography, officiant) were excellent. If you are looking for a romantic place to elope in Sonoma with a venue staff that provides you with personal attention, this is the place!

Absolutely loved this place! Our room was so cool and wonderful! We stayed in the Circus themed room. The bathtub was huge and awesome! The balcony was so nice to just hang out on in the evenings with a nice glass of wine and just look at the stars. We are totally coming back here as soon as possible!

As I sit here in the Safari room, I think about the last two nights here with wonderful, fond memories of our past two nights here at the inn. We loved it so much that we extended our stay an extra night. Now comes the sad part...having to leave in the morning. Our stay here has been absolutely wonderful. The accommodations are amazing, but only a part of the whole experience. Tina is wonderfully welcoming and extraordinarily accommodating, with both selection of rooms based on my specific physical "needs" and tailoring the morning meals to meet my wife's specific dietary restrictions. I, not having such dietary restrictions, took full advantage of the truly gourmet breakfast, starting with a choice of granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, coffee and juices before the entree. We met several wonderful people during the evening wine and cheese gathering in the sitting room. The location is perfect for all that this area has to offer. I can truly be very critical when it comes to Hotels, B&B's, etc. I honestly cannot think of one negative comment when it comes to Inn at Occidental. We have stayed in many beautiful Bed and Breakfast Inns before. This is by far our favorite. We look forward to returning to our new found "hide-away". Thank you, Tina! You're awesome!

One would have to work very hard to come up with any criticisms of this place. Quiet, comfortable, charming – one of those places that truly offers the feeling of a refreshing getaway with all the niceties of wine tasting, excellent breakfast, and perhaps a Jacuzzi!Clearly the innkeepers have a generous approach and it trickles down into everything offered for one's comfort at this gracious inn. No wonder they have so many repeat guests. It was a lovely way to celebrate my wife's birthday, so we'll be back!

Had a wonderful dinner with family. The atmosphere and beautiful furnishings, in a redwood forest setting, are a peaceful restful retreat. It feels like you have traveled back in time and the pristine Victorian building and grounds are dreamlike.

Excellent, down home, friendly service. They think of everything! Rooms are 4 star!! Atmosphere is quaint but elegant! Food options in area are pretty good! It's a no stop light kinda town and no cellular service for miles around, but the experience was delightful. Will definitely be back!

Off the beaten path, but exactly what we were looking for! This property is very pretty and their rooms are spacious. Breakfast was good and the chef offered to make a tray to-go for my wife who wasn't yet awake. Tranquility and relaxation!

Excellent place to stay and relax with great people and breakfast. Special thanks and mention to Marilyn, who was gracious and wonderful from the start until we left. Spent a wonderful relaxed birthday party weekend at Occidental Inn. And not to forget the wine tastings at all the different wineries and vineyards. Only one tiny suggestions it would have been heaven if we had a choice of wine selections and some cheese and crackers, ( cherry on the cake) or a total jackpot full of gold. Big Thanks again for a wonderful weekend away from the hustle and bustle..

Great B&B in the Sonoma wine country. Staff is helpful and friendly, the breakfasts are great, and the rooms are comfy and quirky. The original owner was a collector of many things, and his collections make up the decor in the rooms.

Nice quiet b & b. The people were very nice and each room is unique so that was fun. We were in the kitchen room so there were all kinds of old fashioned kitchen utensils as room decorations and the room had a humongous bath tub. Very romantic...

My wife and I have stayed at several B&Bs in northern California. The Inn at Occidental is our favorite. Delicious breakfasts. Beautiful rooms. Fantastic housekeeping. Terrific, secluded location. Walking distance to several great restaurants. Near to the beach. Can't say enough good things about the Inn at Occidental.
