We recently visited Howard Station Cafe for a family breakfast and were thoroughly impressed. The warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a delightful experience from the moment we walked in. The staff were friendly and accommodating.The menu offered a fantastic variety of options, catering to adult and children's tastes. Our meals were delicious and presented beautifully, showcasing the care and quality put into each dish. The ingredients tasted fresh and were expertly prepared, delighting each bite.The meal in the photo features a classic breakfast setup that appears delicious and well-prepared. On the plate closest to the foreground are two fluffy pancakes, with the top pancake generously topped with a blackberry compote or jam, providing a vibrant contrast to the golden-brown pancakes. The jam's rich, dark color suggests it's made from fresh or possibly stewed berries, which are likely to add a sweet and slightly tart flavor to the pancakes.A small container of maple syrup accompanies the pancakes. Stopped in for breakfast while touring Occidental and some old grove redwoods. The food was great!! In addition to perfect omelets, the blueberry pancakes were delicious HOWEVER, then we saw the Pumpkin Waffle !! Had to add that. If you are around while they still serve it (this was Oct weekend just before Halloween) definitely get it! Just remember to bring a BIG appetite. The food portions are very healthy and the staff wonderful.

We enjoyed our breakfast in the dining room. The breakfast burrito is massive and my husband was defeated by it. The biscuits and gravy were also a highlight. The fresh juices were delicious! Staff were friendly and the food came quickly. Would definitely come again if we're back in the area.Kid-friendliness: High chairs and booster seats available

Cute little place for breakfast or brunch. Nice juice and vegan options available. The red ferrari fresh juice was refreshing! Tried Vegetarian omelette, veggie Benedict and brown rice bowl in our group. You can pick your own table, grab the menus and order at the counter.

Even in the middle of the week the place was packed for breakfast, i highly recommend the salmon flointine, perhaps a bit heavy on the capers. Probably the best home fries I have ever had.Vegetarian options: They were on the menu

Went for breakfast, and enjoyed the atmosphere. Great food and friendly people. The food was delicious, and the service was quick. There was no shortage of people working, so you didn't have to hunt for people to help, answer questions, or refill iced tea. I will return to tryTake time to read the information on the walls. The history of the cafe and the town are interesting!Will return for lunch soon!Parking: We went on a Sunday, so we expected parking to be a little difficult for this very popular spot. We found parking across the street since the lot was full.

Delicious food. I stuffed my face. Got the custom Omelette. You can add a variety of things - mushrooms, spinach, a bunch of types of cheeses, you name it. Smoothie was fresh. Came here after zip lining in the redwoods. Gets packed and a bit cramped around brunch/lunch on weekends. Cozy old town homey feel and good service. :)

More pricey, but quality food. Excellent service and a quiet and quiet atmosphere.Jesus would drink their Mocha Latte.Unfortunately I need it made with almond milk due to allergies... And it is still delightfully chocolatey.Dietary restrictions: Have gluten free options for waffles and pancakes, as well as bread items, and dairy free milk substitutes.They have meatless options, but not substitutes.

Food was delicious but paying took forever. Although the staff was super friendly, being outside put us a little out of mind. After our check was dropped we waited about 10-15 minutes. My boyfriend took the check inside to find someone to pay, they took the cash but didn’t communicate to our server we needed change. Another 15 minutes goes by and we finally see our server and get change. As I said, the food is really good, but the check situation impacted our timing for the rest of the day.

Came here in a party of 4. I had been here years ago and was afraid, as most would be, that the quality would have changed or my expectations would exceed the reality. I was not dissippointed.The busy Sunday rush was real but they still managed to provide great service and excellent food. Space is tight but it didn't really bother us, it was worth it.- Service was great. We had a very experienced server who took care of our unique dietary needs and made sure we had all we needed. We felt very welcomed and cozy despite the close proximity of tables.- Price was amazingly reasonable! I got a custom omellete and that was the most expensive at about $14. Most things are below that with great portions. Good prices.- Atmosphere is packed but cozy. Considering the kind of traffic they get I dont blame them for putting all the tables they can fit. However if you want a window or spacious seat you'll need to wait longer.- Food was AWESOME! They have found a way to combine the classic comfort foods of eggs, pancakes, sausage and homemade biscuits with the dietary needs of many people around Sonoma County.- Drinks were good. We didnt really try much except tea but they had a long list of beautiful alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks plus smoothies! Great for hangovers or something generally healthy.Ultimately a great spot and somewhere I hadnt been in years. Glad I went and I suggest you go too.

What a shame. One of my favorite restaurants, but apparently has changed hands. I ordered oatmeal which came cold and had a terrible flavor. I don’t know how you can mess up oatmeal, but they did. When the Server came to collect my still full bowl, she made no comment as to why I’d hardly touched my breakfast. This leads me to believe that it’s not unusual. The smoothie was sickly, sweet, and nothing like it used to be. This used to be a favorite place to go, but unfortunately, no longer has the quality of food.

For a moderately priced establishment that's cash only, I would expect to have been served a good portion of fresh french fries. Instead I received a very small serving of very crispy hard fries that were not edible. If it wasn't for the descent BLT sandwich I would have given one star.

Very cute shop. Wasn't a fan of the style of corned beef hash, but that's on me I should have asked first if it was chopped/ground or shredded.The 3* goes to the rock hard biscuits. Everything else was solid and the staff was amazing, but those biscuits...I could dig my way out of prison with those biscuits.

Orange and apple freshly squeezed juices are amazing. Highly suggest those two! My ham cheese waffle breakfast sandwich was one of a kind! No one can replicate how delicious and heart warming it was!!!

Howard’s Station is a jewel in this little town of Occidental. We came on a Saturday right at opening. You order at the register then go sit at a table. The coffee was good and the food was fantastic. The service was super fast too. Don’t forget to try their pastries. The chocolate cherry muffin was so good!

Superb coffee and mushroom barley soup. They sprinkle cocoa powder on the mochas which my husband enjoyed. Friendly, welcoming vibe with seating indoor and outdoor. I look forward to coming back and trying other menu items!

Great breakfast and service. Awesome decor and vibe inside. This place is cash only, but they do have an ATM near their restrooms. I was surprised by their good selections of juices and smoothies using locally sourced ingredients. Prices are definitely on par with the quality. Good times!
