Lots of parking, very convenient to shop after grocery shopping and Safeway. Friendly staff and they have enclosed kennel area inside and outside of store for training classes on weekends for our puppy. Easy vaccination available Tuesday through Saturday at the vet clinic in the back of store.

Based in Oakland, PFE carries some items that are not carried by larger chain stores and are also active in local animal welfare programs, host adoption events and have excellent customer service.

Got a self cleaning brush for my bestie's new cat Noche. The brush was priced lower than it rang up for by $10 and the associate who rang me honored the shelf tag price. Awesome!

Of course I'm a mess because I think my dog has to be put to sleep. the employees at pet food Express we're so kind to me genuinely kind that no matter what the outcome was going to be they comforted me either way. they treated me as though I was a good friend ...and more than that ,they made sure my dogs had water ,a spot to snuggle into with a blanket, they ooooed and awwwwed over my babies true from their hearts..I won't take my animals to any other place except this one now.They made an impact on me at a time when I needed it the most. Wow...not a Big Box store person but have to give this a great score. I have a BIG DOG and the discounts and selection have been great. This is my go to dog wash as well but what really keeps me coming back is the amazing staff that work here. They have trained me well. Five Woofs!!!!!

This store is great and my dog and I love to come here. They have top quality dog food, treats and supplies. The staff here is so friendly and helpful. Thank for being excited about my dogs birthday party. I know it's a silly thing to do but it makes me happy. I appreciate the enthusiasm. Pictured is a doggy birthday cookie. Dexter loved it! The self pet wash area is immaculate and the staff is helpful & friendly. My dog is not a lover of baths but I will certainly use this service in between at home dog grooming visits.

Great selection, well organized, clean, and friendly. Staff is also nice. Wish there were options for less expensive food. Like bulk buying? For instance, if I buy a case vs. single cans of cat food, can I get a discount?

The staff was so helpful and nice! The selection overall seems a little small but they carry all the basic needs stuff. I grabbed a harness and cat grass which my cat absolutely loves. A bonus is getting to see so many dogs in the store, it was great!

Super helpful and friendly staff. Bring your dog with you and he or she is likely to get some free sample treats. The treat bins are also laid out as nose height and your pup can pick his or her own special treat. Highly recommended!

The best pet store we have ever been to. The people who work here are kind, attentive, and you can tell they love what they do. A nice selection of everything. Destany was very kind and helpful.We visited the store because they had an adoption event. We got the cat and all we need to get started. We don't go here often as we live not in the area, but we will come back whenever we are in the area.

This is my favorite chain pretty store. They always have a great selection of the best quality foods, and their staff is always super friendly and helpful. They are seriously lacking in the rabbit department, and their cat's section is definitely smaller than the dog, but it's a go to for me at least once a month. My dog loves coming too!

This review is for the vet clinic.When I called yesterday at 2:30PM, I was told that I did not need an appointment. Since it took me about an hour to get my cat into the carrier, I got there at 3:40 and was told the clinic was full. I tried to talk to the clinic's male technician to see if the vet just take a brief look at my cat's skin. I offered to wait or even come back later. He was very unhelpful and kept saying that the clinic could not give cortisone shots or tranquilizers to make the cat's exam easier, even after I told him I could help hold the cat. Two points: 1).If the clinic does take appointments, the staff should let callers know that, even it it takes a personal visit to get the appointment. 2).A more understanding attitude by the clinic's technicians. How about an apology that they could not see my cat--the kitty was very uncomfortable and a 10 minute look would have been so helpful!Ruta Rakutis

This has a good selection of better quality pet items. I speak from my point of view as a cat person. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Have seen water dishes at the door for dogs on hot days. Pretty good selection of cat toys too.

The best store to adopt. I love the service there, I adopted a beautiful well trained cat. The employees there helped me out picked out things that my cat loves.they recommend things that would help me and the cat. And on top all of that they told me if things I bought for my cat he didn’t like I can return them open without a receipt. There are many closer pet food Express locations closer to me from where I live but I’d rather travel to that one only. I love you guys and I definitely recommend this location only.Today is March 9-2019 an update to let you all know that I went back to adopt another beautiful cat. Her name is Nya. I want to thank you all for the support. Keep up the good work you guys are so good at taking care of these beautiful animals. Again thank you.

I bought dog food. Pet Food Express has a deal--if you buy 3 bags you get the 4th for free. I forgot to pick up the free fourth bag, and clerk did not remind me. I went back to the store and explained what happened. After looking at my receipt, the store apologized and gave me the 4th bag.Pet Food Express is a great place to pick up pet supplies. I also wash my dog there, renting a dog wash station at a reasonable price. Much better than creating a mess at my residence.Staff has always been very helpful.

The store provides a great choice of products and the staff is knowledgeable. They were helpful to me in finding what I needed and covered the bottom of my cart with towels so my puppy would not hurt his paws.

The only place I'll come to for all my puppy needs! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. Darrell is amazing! My pup is treated like family! The buy 3 get one free program is great and the VIP Petcare clinic is very convenient too! Love this place!

This weekend was my first time coming to this pet store with the purpose of looking for the perfect cat for my daughter. After choosing the right pet for her one of the staff was very helpful because as we were also first time pet owners she was helping me with my shopping cart of all the things I needed for a kitten and giving me suggestions and tips for our new pet. Great service ! 😊😻

I was disappointed in the service they introduced me to a new product not used on my dog n the past they would give it to me to try yes free, i would allways come back and buy more of but even after i told the lady she ignored the service practice and totalled me up 2 products i had to choose only one b cuz of the price. Then her co worker started adding other customers to the counter humm what part od stay 6 ft apart cant u read on your.on floor lables. Not pleased bring back the old crew with good service. Thumbs down today.

The other day I went to 51st store in Oakland and had the best experience with a salesperson in a very long time. Really made a difficult day oh so much better. Returned a food that was suggested for my new senior rescue. No problem. Daryl, the salesperson who assisted me was very knowledgeable and helpful for some of my rescued pup problems. I ended up spending more but everything was well worth it. The FURminator has been a life saver. Puppy Kong is perfect fo a senior pup. He even gifted me with a small container of Just Food for Dogs to try out. We also found a felt ball that is easIer for her to play with.Daryl is a great people person and definitely an asset to your organization. He needs a bonus❣️Thanks for your kind and generous return policy.

I work at Pet Food Express as an order selector. Our Rockridge store has the most exceptional and informative staff that I have encountered. I have 22 cats and sometimes it can be overwhelming when some of them get sick. The Rockridge staff has always sent me in the right direction to the right products to use for the needs of my cats.9
