Staff was attentive and helpful! I come here to get a variety of high quality wet food for my cats. A few months back, I found a stray in my neighborhood and came here to get bathing supplies. The entire team gave me a rundown of what I needed to do to get the kitten clean and ready for its new home.

I LOVE this location!! Super accessible right on piedmont ave! The layout is easy to navigate, products are always stocked in view, the baths are great after a muddy hike, and the employees are always so sweet! I even pop in there without my dog just to say hi to any cute pups that happen to be around! (Special shout-out to Seren, thanks for helping me find exactly what I needed and for teaching me more about my dog's nutrition!!) Can't recommend this store more highly :)

Person with blue and green hair working the register was unfriendly and rude. No kindness towards my dog. We are spending lots of money and trying to leave as fast as possible before closing. Dog steals a cheap treat at snout level and all they cared about was making sure they ring us up for this negligible treat. No kindness or compassion for trying to gather all these items with no help from the multiple workers walking around the store while dragging a big dog along. No humor or good nature for spending so much at their store or being a frequent customer. It’s about the friendly experience for return customers, the kindness toward our pets, and some humor! All this can be bought online !

Never had a better pet store experience. The guy who helped me was super knowledgeable, answered all my questions. Came in just to pick up litter for my sister's cat and walked out with some free new food for mine who's had some recent tummy upsets with her last food. I picked up some Weruva wet food with pumpkin and mackerel and she went nuts for it, plus their buy 3 get 1 free meant I had a treasure trove of toys to bring home to her too. I won't go anywhere else now. Goodbye Petsmart, thanks Chewy, but this is my new sole supplier now. Highly recommend.

Super friendly staff, always excited to see our pup and was very helpful. Great for a quick stop in while on Piedmont Ave, and they have the weekend Vet service. We had one happy puppy after our visit!

Perfect little pet store! I stopped by while visiting my daughter at college, to pick up some treats for my pups back home. I loved the biscuit assortment on the end cap. You can mix and match, and then pay by weight. I got a nice variety for one pound!

I come here often and always have such a pleasant experience. ALL of the staff are so warm, welcoming, kind, and helpful. Customer service is unmatched. The individuals who helped me today went above and beyond to help me with my flea situation. Thank you <3

I have been shopping at this store for 6+ years and spend an insane amount of money on dog products. I have never returned ANYTHING. I recently found out my dog has a chicken allergy and had a UNOPENED bag of chicken food my partner bought 1 month ago that I wanted to exchange. I didn’t have the receipt but since I wanted an even exchange for the same product, same price in a different protein I thought it would be easy as I have done this in the past.I ask an employee to exchange the product and eventually the manager and they both say that they can’t do that without a receipt and that it’s a recent policy in the last seven months. Also who the hell is stealing giant bags of dog food??? Wouldn’t it be easier to steal smaller things? Anyway I think ok, fine, company policy. I then read the return policy and it’s states:“No receipt? Or beyond 30 days from purchase? Within 60 days of purchase, we’re happy to issue an exchange or merchandise card at the item’s lowest retail price in the last 60 days. Merchandise card can be used for future in-store and online purchases, cannot be redeemed for cash, and will expire one year from date of issuance. Refunds, credits, exchanges, and online order pick-ups require your name, address, and a government issued photo I.D.”“Additional Terms and Exceptions Pet Food Express reserves the right to limit returns at our discretion. Discontinued or discounted items marked as “Last Chance,” “Final Sale,” or similar, and bulk biscuit purchases are not eligible for return or exchange.”“You must have a valid receipt to return or exchange any of the following products: (i) Electronic merchandise, (ii) Grooming Tools, and (iii) Medication, Flea & Tick Products, Supplements, or Vitamins.”“Refunds or exchanges on sale or discontinued purchases will be refunded at the price you paid. Purchases using our B3G4F (Buy 3 and Get the 4th Free promotion) will be refunded at a 25% price reduction for each returned item, but may be exchanged for items of equal original price.”I go into the store and I show the manager the return policy and they state that doesn’t apply to food. I retort that no where in the return policy does it state that food is disqualified from this policy and the manager SCOFFS in my face and tells me I’m not exchanging your food and that I need to leave the store. I worked in a holistic pet food store as my second job and could never imagine treating an customer the way I was treated.Furious I call customer service and explain the situation and he goes that’s right. I read to him the return policy and he also laughs in my face and tells me I’m wrong. I ask him to read the return policy paragraph that says I’m wrong and he says I don’t need to I know your wrong. I ask to speak to his manager and he tells me he is the manager and hangs up the phone on me.I will never give this store my business again and shame on them for their terrible customer service and FALSE ADVERTISING.

Terrible customer service. The manager treated my partner like he was meth head stealing dog food after being a loyal customer for 6+ years because he wanted to exchange unopened chicken dog food for a different protein due to my dogs new chicken allergy. Truly unbelievable.

This is the best pet food express of all the pet food expresses in all the land. I love this store but it’s nowhere near how much my dog loves this store. She’s treated like a rockstar every time we visit. The manager (Sky!) is exceptional and the staff are consistently stellar—they offer great recommendations and help you troubleshoot issues for your furry companion. Feels like a neighborhood store with a great sense of community—all businesses should be run like this!!

I don't write reviews often but I've been to the Piedmont Ave location twice in the last three days since adopting my first dog and the support that the caring and knowledgeable staff there (especially Jessy, sorry if I spelled it wrong) have provided has been phenomenal. Their deep love for animals shines through and they create community out of a chain retail experience. Roux and I are excited to become regulars.

All locations are friendly but if it was a competition, this location would win. I walked in to compliments on my coat, Ithen didn’t pass any worker without a genuinely sweet greeting. I felt like I was among a group of friends. Knowledgeable about the status of my cat cans that are out of stock, they let me know there was a waitlist for my particular brand, they then checked it at the other stores without me asking, they had great suggestions for what I could do in the meantime if my cat won’t eat another brand if it came down to that, they gave me a sample of one kind of cat food for her to try for free, I felt like I was laughing a lot and they also treated me to pictures of their cat. The best customer service at a pet store I’ve ever had. Wonderful.

The store was great. The bath was great.... unfortunately the staff made me feel extremely uncomfortable when I was trying to get treats for my dog after his bath... they just followed me around and ask me over and over if I needed help... they really don't need to treat everyone like they're going to steal something I was a loyal repeat paying customer as always and they treated me like a low-level Criminal... I'm almost going to chalk it up to the fact that they were all new people that I hadn't seen there before

Good selection of quality foods and supplies, staff is always kind and helpful.If you ask about their really cheap options for cat litter they have super cheap stuff out in the back.They have a return policy which is awesome if your pets don't like the food you can take it back. That is unique huge bonus.They also host pet adoptions and have a publicly available wash station for your dogs and the back. Great pet store.

I had came to this particular location a couple months ago because my cat had Fleas and I had no idea how to go about it. I asked a staff member and she was so helpful! She told me everything I needed to know. I came in again today to see what I could give my cat for nausea and a young lady named Rebeca helped me out. She was very nice !!! And the best part was that she didn’t even charge me!! :)

Staff is very helpful---they are available for giving advice and will offer to help you to your car. Store is clean and welcoming. They are very accommodating with returns--for example if your pet doesn't like the canned food you buy, you can return the remaining cans. Selection is pretty good, food and litter, etc are good quality, carefully considered. There is a nice dog washing station and occasionally they have animals for adoption. They also sometimes have fundraising efforts for animal non profits. Overall it is a really nice store and you can tell they care a lot about animals and making sure they get good products and care.

An outstanding chain pet store. Not only are staff knowledgeable, but they all seem passionate about working with animals (humans included). The products are diverse and more eco and health supportive than most pet supply stores, especially chains. 3 for 4 deals on treats and toys whenever I'm in.They also support local shelters and foster providers.

I will only buy my pet food here. It's an Oakland company. They have great selection, the staff is always amazing and helpful and happy to talk about my pet or theirs. I love that you can bring back anything and they'll donate it to the SPCA, even opened food. It makes me feel better about my picky cat. They have reasonable prices. Parking is super easy and they're also on Prime Now.
