The staff at the Montclair Pet Food Express location was outstanding. We have a dog that barks a lot at other pets. We called in the morning ahead of time to get more information about the pet wash. The staff member said we could do the wash in a private pet wash station. We paid for the pet wash session ahead of time and received a token. The staff member proactively offered a waterproof collar. I went outside and put it on our dog. We entered the store with our dog and went straight to the wash station. The pet wash station was clean and well stocked with many towels and even dog treats. Even though we brought our own treats, our dog loved the doggie biscuits provided at the pet wash station. Once we started the wash, everything was smooth sailing. The water started off cool then became a comfortable lukewarm rinse. The air dryer also started off cool then changed to a nice warm air. At the end of the wash session, our dog was clean and dry. We were very happy with the whole experience. We will definitely return to Pet Food Express because of the great customer service and positive experience.

They're amazing every time. Patient, knowledgeable, kind. It was really helpful to a new dog parent. There's a 30 day return policy, keep your receipt. Make it work for you !!I Adopted a dog on Sunday from OAS, PFE was also doing one that day. Shout out to adopt not shop!! OAS gave me a 20% off coupon & a coupon to redeem a goodie bag. Drove there immediately. A staff member causally asked how I'm doing, I said overwhelmed with tears brimming. She took my stuff, put it down and walked me around the store. An angel. THE GOODIE BAG IS REAL YALL. I was expecting a small bag of samples and treats. (No hate, free is free and parenthood is expensivs) This was a full tote bag of full sized treats and food and samples and coupons.that's probably a shout out to all of PFE, make adopting more enticing! I went back yesterday and another truly lovely employee helped me. I've been there 4 times in 3 days.

This Pet Food Express is in a small shopping center in Montclair neighborhood, the parking can fill up. This Pet Food Express is a decent size and has a pretty strong dog session.It's not widely publicized but for a lot of the items, I think food items, if you buy 3 you get one free.On Saturdays they have a VIP Pet Care vet clinic and the PFE staff put out chairs for people to wait.

I feel lucky that this is my go to pet store. The folks here go out of their way to engage and be of service. It is like Old School Customer Service and this why I keep coming back. I love love LOVE going there and so does Oscar! :-). Thank you for being amazing!!

I cannot recommend this location enough for any pet owner in the greater Oakland area. The staff is always welcoming and very helpful. The store has a great selection of toys, treats, food and a washing station (a quadruple threat!). This store makes getting things for my golden retriever very easy, and staff such as Davina & Max compel me to come back whenever I am in need of anything. 5/5 highly recommend

My husband showed up to this store tonight all flustered and looking for a brand of dog food not carried here. Manager Alicia was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make sure he came home with what looks to be a higher quality substitute that was enjoyed by our picky dog. When he expressed being impressed by her above and beyond assistance, he said she replied with "That's just the culture of our store." Sounds like a place I want to support and have in the community.

I was looking for a cat food to feed some community cats and this store doesn't have cat food. 😕After a few minutes looking every where I asked one of the staff and she said that they don't sell cat food 🙄😒😏🤥 unfortunately I didn't take any pictures.

The staff helped my sister and I with our individual and disparate pet needs exhaustively until we settled on what we needed. She needed food for a recent dog acquisition and after vacillating they offered a coupon for trying it and a coupon for the next bag if she wants another one, as well as their always available return policy. Their products are always high quality, but still rank second to the customer service which is exceptional. You're definitely not going to get this at PetSmart.

Pet food express is great. I have a a lot of good reasons to be In need use the PEE PADS for dogs every 2 or 3.months. the people who work here are great, and imidently helpful. They will take time to help, the customers won't have to worry about being pushed to them. I have had time to look for things, talk to those who are working. It's great.

Very nice staff, great self wash area for your dog, excellent selection of pet food, and accessories, and yummy non-meat hide treats to roll over and speak for!...but the parking lot is quite busy and packed, making it more than just difficult to actually park in the lot. I used the self wash, a 25 minute time allotment, with warm water infused with gentle dog friendly shampoo-warm rinse water, towels provided, and a "cool" air dryer. I took our 15 year old dog to give her a bath. The staff helped me get her up into the bathing area, brought us the towels, token, and extra soap. I used every minute of the 25, plus some, and must have massaged out 3 pounds of thick undercoat hair from our girl. The customer does not clean up, so I felt rather guilty. The staff gave her treats to keep her happy as I labored along. I got her a new brush, and took her home to finish the job...more drying, some new coat conditioner, about 4 packed full stuffed gallon bags of more hair, a snip here and there, and MAGIC. She was a very happy camper on the way home, and after all that washing and grooming. A new dog!!!! Thank you Pet Food Express!

Customer service was good but the doggie wash section was horrible. I've been to several different locations and this one was the first time I felt uncomfortable washing my pet in. The reason for this is because it was extremely dirty and smelly. It smelled like it had not been cleaned for weeks or with a dirty mop. The smell was over whelming.

Store is clean organized and I always find something new for my doggies (they get tons of love and treats everytime we come). They have the petwash on site and the location is perfect. I really appreciate my neighborhood store!

A great place to come for everyday pet needs or DIY pet grooming. Also great when you get a new pet. Let them know, and they'll walk you through what you might need. Walk home with the products you need; no need to wait for the delivery (although they do delivery too)!
