Fresh, quality, sophisticated, I love this market. Farmer Joe’s has spices that I can’t find in Santa Rosa, California, so I travel for delicious spices to make a good dinner meal. As good as farm fresh. Perfect community market. Zucchini soup. Wonderful

Nice grocery store, good produce, clean, well organized, has informative signs, helpful and friendly staff. They also have lots of interesting products I don't see in normal grocery stores. This is definitely a store most people should go and check out.

A nice market full of good produce, a decent selection of non-perishables, and some bulk items. Definitely go here for coffee and produce.The meat counter prices are higher and the beer selection is average.Altogether, MUCH better than Whole Foods.

Organic strawberries I bought today were hella sour. Really awful. Also bought some “Delightfully Turkish”peanuts which were also bad. Looked at the package. They were packed in Sep 2021 and expired in Mar 2023. Don’t get me wrong. I’ve been shopping here for 10 years. But please, Farmer Joe’s. Please pay attention to what you’re putting on the shelves.

I like the produces but their flowers is really sad, it looks beautiful but when I open it to put it in the vase most of the pedals falls out, if not all pedals out. It looks really sad. Don’t waste your money on flowers here.

Folding bike owners take note: Farmer Joe's has a strict policy that disallows you to wheel in your folded Brompton, Bike Friday, Tern, Strada, etcetera to double as your shopping cart.Otherwise the selection is good (particularly the meats) the staff are super polite, and it feels good to support a local neighborhood spot rather than Bezos. For those travelling by car consider it a 5 star experience.If I hear that this policy changes I will revise my review.

Went today 12-4-23 for some vegetables. Gross moldy tomatillos. Some sad greens. Wilted moldy Anaheim peppers. Used to be a great place for fresh veg. Time to up your game

Love this place. The only negative is the area is being destroyed by criminals (like all of Oakland) so its not comfortable to take your time and shop you want to grab what you need and get out of dodge

I shop here regularly and am thankful for more locally owned locations. They meet most of my needs with an occasional Berkeley Bowl run as their Organic bulk food doesn't move fast enough to be fresh, but they are a good choice for most things.

All the fresh produce you want, plus an amazing meat counter and deli! The staff are awesome as well. There is no name-brand/big box stuff here, so it can get pricey.

Take this 5-star review with a grain of salt. This place is absolutely fantastic when it comes to produce.The prices fluctuate with availability, but are generally much lower for a better product than most other stores. The produce, organic and regular, is delivered fresh directly from farms on the same day and they can point out the exact farms where they get the majority of their produce from throughout the year. Produce from this store does not go bad as quickly as Safeway and TJs because it is all truly that fresh.The hot food, sandwiches, and deli bar are all so delicious. None of the poshness of Whole Foods but all of the quality and diligence from hard-working and caring staff. And I gotta say the sandwiches are like, local sub shop yummy.But there’s gotta be a catch! There is: meat and packaged foods are considerably more expensive here than Safeway or TJs.Meat and seafood is understandable: they do their best to source quality meats locally rather than whatever is cheapest and least responsibly farmed.Packaged food seems like a fair way to make a profit and thus it’s just generally more expensive here. Some things are fine but looking around you’ll notice there’s some decent markups. Still great quality stuff so weigh your options I guess?In conclusion: this place is freshness central and the produce prices are unbeatable at this level of freshness. Definitely worth.

Quality full-sized grocery store - meat counter, lots of fresh vegetables and fruit, cheeses, and deli. Self-checkout counters are no longer operational - not sure what happened because they were great but I haven't seen them turned on/available in months. Was there today and still off. Regardless it's a solid store with helpful staff and great selection.

Generally good selections but I often have issues with their produce not staying fresh as long as stuff from other similar stores. Many of the refrigerator cases are old and in need of repair or replacement.

One of the last independent full service grocery stores around, and it is so much better than the chain competitors. Their produce is top notch and expansive- far more variety than most Safeway's etc in terms of less common items. They have local brands all over the store, lots of healthy and organic options and rare finds, huge vegetarian/vegan selection, and an amazing deli counter. Beer/cider/wine selection is excellent and mostly excellent craft stuff, mostly local. Great bulk foods sections for all different types of dry grains/beans/rice/dried fruit/granola etc. Great staff that keep the place running smoothly with everything stocked well and tidy. Parking lot is easy enough. I shop almost exclusively here and am almost never missing anything. Keep up the great work Farmer Joe's!

I've been shopping at this Farmer Joe's since they opened and I am never disappointed. I am a private chef and am always happy with the quality and variety of their produce. Prices are great for fresh produce, meat, poultry and fish. I love Not having to drive to Berkeley bowl for my shopping needs.

It was a little weird. Not going to lie. The vibe was very chill. The lighting was dim and warm. The staff was generic and unimpressive. But there was an abundance of products that are missing from a lot of other specialty stores.The sweet potatoes were conventional, but they were also massive so that's probably a good deal if you're trying to make yams.You can even find lotus root and three different kinds of Daikon radish here.

Dang good deli! Loved the pastrami melt.Reminded me a lot of the farmers markets in the mountains back east and made me a little homesick, but that just means its doing a good job! Quality produce, decent prices for a fancy grocer, and once again, REALLY GOOD DELI

Great selection of food. Easy to find what I needed. High quality brands. Not the Safeway experience. Here is where you will go to get the more difficult to find stuff. More like Berkeley bowl or whole foods the way it was decades ago. Or the way your local grocer has always been.
