Dr. Waikart saved my dog's life. Lily wasn't eating or drinking water and would just curl up in her bed and not move. She was normally an extremely vibrant and active 3-year-old dog. I was afraid I was going to lose her. After 3 days in the hospital, Lily began to turn the corner. Now she's leaping and racing around with even more energy than she had before.In addition, she helped my older dog by recommending a new shot to help with arthritis. It's like a miracle. She's now back to jumping in the car and up on the bed.I have complete trust in Dr. Waikart and her team.

I miss Dr. Fryer, it seems as if every time one of my pets, who Dr. Fryer has seen for their entire lives (the oldest was 17), had regular routine care items they have been provided for FOREVER, I get told I have to have them seen by the vet first. What? For a nail clipping? For eye drops being taken already for four years? Feels like they are just after making as much money on our animals as possible, or if that is not the case, they should revise there policy as to a case by case basis. Frustrating to say the least. If they needed a vet for health reasons, sure, I can see that, but really, a nail clipping?

The prices are amazing compared to ALOT of other vets so I don't know why people are complaining about price when Dr Fryer is $1000 cheaper than the others for the procedure and are impressed with all the other prices! I would never hesitate to refer Dr Fryer to anyone especially Bulldog owners!! Top notch care!!

I cannot say enough great things about the Animal Clinic of Oak View and especially Dr Waikart. We had been on a trip and picked our dog up at a boarding facility and noticed he wasn't well. Our former vet had closed and we didn't know where to go so I called them and they immediately fit us in. When we got there it transpired that our dog had a fever of 106.1 degrees. Dr Waikart was amazing, so kind and professional. She did warn me that with such a high fever anything could happen but promised they'd do everything in their power to help our pup. We left him at the clinic and went home and the team called us every hour to update us on his progress. Slowly they managed to get his temperature down, we were able to pick him up after six hours and after a course of antibiotics, he has made a full recovery from what we now believe was acute leptospirosis. Dr Waikart called us every few days to check in on us and update us on incoming test results. The kindness, professionalism and level of communication we received were incredible. We are so grateful and happy we found this new vet.

Dr. Fryer always explains all options and takes the time to answer all questions. We've been taking our senior rottweiler mix there for over 4 years and are very happy with the service and expertise. He's a great surgeon.

Awesome vet!!Went to Dr. Fryer based on a recommendation.What a good call.He took the time to really examine our pet and then present a range of treating options. Best of all he then explained his thinking about each option so we completely understood our pet's medical situation. His prices were also very fair.Best vet I have seen in years.By the way the facility is nice and staff super friendly.Give this place a try; I believe you will be happy.

Dr. Fryer is wonderful! His veterinary expertise has proven invaluable again and again. His veterinary assistants and the other staff at the Animal Clinic of Oak View are professional and courteous. In a word ... FINALLY! The 40 year search feels like it's over. One visit doesn't make it so, but we are sure off to a good start. This pro is open, compassionate and highly competent. Dr Fryar is just one of those rare health providers who immediately puts you at ease. You just know you're animal is in the best hands.Jacki took our formally abused, elderly rescue here with a variety of issues and concerns. Doctor was lasered in on all of it from the get go. My partner is demanding and all antennae on high gain when it comes to the animals. When she came home and shared her experience at the visit to AC of OV I was so impressed.We've made appointments for our other animals and will update those results. We are very happy to have found AC of OV and the best vet in Ventura County.In case you hadn't noticed we are experiencing an animal care crisis along with our own. Some of the comments from others here regarding staff at this facility are forgetting this fact in many cases. Business-like, yes. But they make this place run at a very high level and that is a fact.For my pets sake and my own sanity I'm so glad we found Dr Fryar.

Dr.Fryer and his whole staff are wonderful! We have a 6 mo English bulldog and we really couldn’t ask for a better animal clinic! Dr.Fryer is so knowledgeable about bulldogs and informed us right off the bat of any common health conditions we should be prepared for in bulldogs! I was so nervous about getting her fixed but she couldn’t have been in better hands. The whole staff is so friendly and truly loves the animals. We are so thankful to have found a clinic that loves our dog and also that we trust with our baby and all her medical needs!

After trying out several vets when I first got my dog, I finally found Dr. Fryer, shortly after he purchased Animal Clinic. I've been taking my dog here ever since. I have ALWAYS found Dr. Fryer and his staff to be outstanding. They are friendly, compassionate and have provided excellent care for my little guy. When he first came he needed to be sedated just to get his nails clipped. He was so afraid of strangers, especially vets. No more, just a quick visit in and out and he's done.The one reviewer who experienced severe delays with an emergency visit - all I can say is, "I'm shocked". That kind of treatment just isn't my experience here, ever. I know many others who bring all their pets here and they all share my feelings. Dr. Fryer is one of a kind. A special breed. So warm and kind, he makes you and your pet feel safe and cared for. I will never take my dog anywhere else so long as Dr. Fryer stays in practice. Love him!

First off the staff is very kind and caring. Dr. Fryer is amazing. We have a Pitbull and at Banfield they used to have 2 people with our dog. Our dog absolutely loves people and Dr. Fryer knew that right away. He treats him like a patient rather than a breed. We had to have surgery done for some lumps our baby had. Seeing we were still with Banfield at the time we had the surgery priced. They were going to charge us 12 hundred dollars more than Dr. Fryer. Not only did he get better care we got it for less. We decided to keep Dr. Fryer as his doctor. Recently our doggie had constant diarrhea. We tried everything to no avail. We took him to see the vet and Dr. Fryer did blood work. He figured out the issue and now our baby is back on track. We had to try a different food that did the job. We are forever grateful for the treatment we have received from Animal Clinic of Oak View. Our dog has never been tag teamed, never been muzzled, and he actually loves it there. Last week we had to take our dog to the Vet but Dr. Fryer was on vacation. The vet we took him to again tag teamed our dog and then muzzled him plus charged us way more. It wasn't Banfield but still made me furious. I highly recommend Dr. Fryer and his staff. They are the best in Ventura County.

Nice staff and office, but easily one of the most expensive vets in Ojai Valley. $100 over what other vets in Valley charge for euthanasia. Haven't been back since a $350+ blood panel was being pushed for a 19yr old cat in end stage renal failure; totally unneccessary. Won't take CareCredit either. Can't afford to go there anymore.

Robert Fryer, DVM with Animal Clinic of Oakview is the only Vet that I have trusted with all my fur babies. I have used him for years. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable Vet. One of the best in my opinion.
