We have been bringing my moms small dog here for a few years now and service has been decent overall. However recently they “referred out” her small dog because we called to complain about how bad the last appointment was; they barely touched her nails, the haircut wasnt what she normally got and looked terrible. The manager was unprofessional and antagonistic over the phone and now when we tried to schedule an appointment thats when we find out shes “86’d”.

Good inventory, but the customer service is really poor and the manager simply does not serve the customers. On several occasions that I have visited the store, I have personally seen how he yells at the customers and simply takes an attitude that he knows better than everyone. It's really disappointing how Petco hires these types of people.

Nice clean store! I Loved watching the little white mousses run around in their little 'house.' The front end sales associate was very mature and easy to get along with.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a regular stop for me because I have quite a few pets and the people are very helpful.

They handled our return well and even gave us a discount on the cat grass since it was clearly dying. Wasn't sure if it would last so I Asked. Anyway they're a good spot to shop if you're in a pinch and they have delivery options too.

Looking for cat harness they carry online. Was in the dog area where are rows and rows of dog harnesses.I asked the guy who works there and he said well of course we have cat harnesses in the cat sectionThey hardly have anything for cats.It is a dog’s world store....dogs selection is huge.First two photos is dogs selection :cat selection is the last photo:They do not carry the harness for cats at all that we need. Kitty learned how to slip out of the cat harness and they show a no escape one online.Seems they could carry a couple more for cats given the rows they carry for dogs.Boycott

They shaved my pups face and left a raw spot on her nose. They also cut off her whiskers which, as far as I know, should not be done.

I couldn’t find the product I needed. As I was checking out I asked the gentleman at the front about the item. He asked his colleague to go double check. Sure enough the item was in store and the colleague brought the item to the front check out. I really appreciated the effort from them both! Thank you!

They put a obviously typed and printed sign on one of the bathrooms that stipulate one of the bathrooms is for employees only- which wouldn't be that big of a deal if there wasn't such a huge difference in the upkeep. I went to the "employee bathroom" to see if there were any toilet liners because the "customer bathroom" was out and it was clean and fully stocked while the other bathroom smelled like urine and had paper towels on the floor but was out of paper towels to use as well as the liners.Ridiculous

Excellent experience overall. Very nice staff who love animals and helping their owners.Update 11/9/2020I left some feedback privately and the store manager quickly responded in a very positive manner. I can see why the employees and animals here are so happy. Despite being a corporate chain I can tell that the staff and management here are thriving. I hope that Petco corporate notices them as a positive example and treats them fairly.

The store it self isnt bad a bit over priced.The bad reviews is based on the grooming department.I dropped my dog off at 10am and was told 2hrs. Ok. Fine. But after 2.5 hours still had no call so I went back over and noticed my dog wasn't being groomed. Apparently my dog sat in a kennel for 2 hour because she wouldn't let them use the blow dryer on her so they were letting her air dry. My dog was howling in distress. And they just left her in there. I was not informed she would be in a kennel for 2hrs, because had they told me I wouldn't have left her there. The lady acted like this a normal procedure, I've taken my dogs to other groomers and never once was she been placed in a kennel for 2 hours to dry! I will never bring my dog back to be groomed here! They are unprofessional and the the manager on duty Elijah has no business being a manager.

I like Petco, and their safety precautions. Its probably the one place I go to get things for my cats because I trust all their brands. They have a lot of safety precautions, and very nice employees. If you are going out please make sure to wear a mask properly, and please social distance. Stay safe!

For my visit lots of shelves were empty especially the item I needed. Staff tried to be helpful but seemed overwhelmed. One lady said she would check the back as I stood there another employee asked if I needed help. When I explained why I was waiting she said no we cant do that. So it's not helpful having me wait for something that will never happen. I called a nearby pet store and they had what I needed.

If you can get grooming to answer the phone or return one is a miracle if it happens. I have called before they close, right when they open, no answer. Called at low hours based on the store activity. They claim they will call you back in 2 hours based on the voice mail and they won't you will never get a call back, but they will delete your voicemail.

Gerry was extremely helpful. We were shopping for a new pet (our first) and he was so helpful in guiding us to what we need to buy. It felt very overwhelming when we started and he made it much easier.

We had a wonderful evening with Alex and his fish expertise! They had a dumb selection of fish and we also had a fun encounter with a camilian! The only criticism I have is signage. The were mislabeled merchandise, missing price tags for fish, and that made for a surprise at the end of my transaction.

The staff is super friendly and knowledgable. The only complaint I have, isn't really a complaint. I know its a corporation , and their job is to sell animals, but stores like these should try harder to make sure the customer knows what they are getting into , and require people to take a 2 hour course on how to properly care for their new pet.For instance: someone living in a 1 bedroom apartment should probably think long and hard about buying a small iguana that could possibly grow to 5 feet in length or more. They are mellow creatures, but without proper care and daily/hourly attention, can sometimes become aggressive.

Had my 1.5 year old goldendoodle here for a groom and I was worried. My bear has had the same groomer since he was very young. Sadly the groomer is no longer in practice so I had to find a new person. I was referred to petco and I thought it would be horrible but quite the opposite he was a great experience. She was great with our dood . He has the perfect summer cut could not be happier. Scheduling is a bit far out but that's ok. A+ Definitely comming back

We made an appointment yesterday to have our dog groomed today. Upon arriving at the store my wife was told that three other dogs were given the grooming time instead, and that she needed to provide written proof of a rabies shot in order to be groomed. My wife was not told any of this while making the appointment, and the manager did not accept our dog's Marin County Animal Services dog license - which requires the dog to have a rabies shot - as proof. The manager was rude to my wife, and made her feel like it was her fault that she didn't know about having to bring proof. We will never bring our dog to this store again.
