My husband and I stayed two nights here and were sad to leave! Mojo is a super kind and amazing lady and we felt so safe staying here. Everyone at the camp was friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Also, our dog had the time of his life running around with the other dogs here and it just made the experience even better.

My daughter, son-in-law and myself stopped to camp overnight January 2nd, 2024 with our four dogs in a motorhome.I have to say these were the friendliest and kindest people we had met on our 3 week trip to the States, coming from Vancouver, Canada. This nice man walked over when we arrived to invite us to join him and others for their potluck meal. You could tell everyone loved their dogs. We met Robert and a nice lady who showed us around until Mojo came and assigned us our site. She is an incredible lady who I wished I’d had more time to spend with but when we left, I was pleased to see she is a hugger like myself.Do yourself a favour and be sure to put Mojo’s Camp in Slab City on your list of places to go. ❤️❤️❤️

Mojo is the best…. Such a sweet lady and running quite a wonderful community campground… Definitely a surreal experience and absolutely uniquely eclectic destination!

I couldn't have nicer and better things to say about Miss Mojo and her camp. She is an incredible, hospitable, welcoming person that made the first experience in Slab city all the better. Her camp is FULL of amenities. Great pull in spots. Rooftop deck to view the sunsets over the Salton sea. And to view (what we thought was going to be a missile launch but then couldn't see it lol) Indoor/outdoor kitchen. Hot water outdoor shower. Flushing toilet. Plenty of fire pits with social nights and firewood included! Not to mention I felt so safe here at mojos camp. With 10+ dogs patrolling the grounds constantly we always knew if someone was approaching as the dogs would howl. There isn't another place in all of slab city I would rather camp. I met several other people who live at the camp too that I unfortunately can't remember all of their names but there wasn't an unkind face there. Thank you all!. I know I will be back.

Spent a night here and found the people absolutely amazing. More kind than you will ever meet in a big city. They are like a big family that openly welcomes you. Went for chili night and live music short walk away. Would have stayed longer but on a travel timer. Thank you to everyone we met. Hugs

A great place to camp. Mojo has a huge heart that’s willing to go the extra mile to help those in need. She truly cares about people and dogs. She made us feel like a part of her family. I highly recommend this place to all good people.

Mojo is one of the kindest and most wonderful women Ive ever been blessed to meet and her camp is incredible! The things she has been able to do is honestly awe inspiring and she is a true blessing to her community. Safest camp in the slabs and the showers are the best! Totally worth the visit! Love you Mojo!

Mojo's and Dave's place is quite the oasis in the middle of the desert: kitchen you can use, shower, toilet, and good people in a secure location. Highly recommended

I love this extraordinarily awesome woman they call Mojo. She is so pivotal and important to the very lives of so many people. She selflessly gives her everything daily and as exhausting as it may appear, she does it with a big beautiful smile all day, everyday.Restrooms: Always clean and have an at home type feel to them.Dog-friendliness: The dogs will greet you that's for sure but what some might think is a bunch of angry dogs is actually a group of well cared for and well loved dogs that simply get excited when a new guest arrives. Barking is how the dogs communicate and if we could understand them I think they would be saying something on the lines of... "Hey! Look! Hi! Hey new guy! Oh they smell like hamburgers, yum! Hey! Welcome!" 😄

Mojo's camp is kewl, it has this giant chess board, it's a safe place when you come to the slabs you can rent a space from her, do some laundry, get a shower, relax and enjoy the slabs. hear tell she's putt'n in a park, that should be nice, we shall see. you go Mojo, I haven't had the opportunity to stay at hey place yet, I've had interaction with Mojo on several occasions and my opinion is that she does a great community service here at the slabs, she's earned her stripes, and that's why you should show her support by becoming a Patron of her services.

My brother and I decided to do an overnight trip to Slab City after hearing about it from others. I’m used to dispersed camping and that is what we expected to do. When we arrived, we met some locals who recommend Mojo’s and we figured we give it a shot.We were certainly glad we did. Mojo and her friends are great hosts and their camp was very well equipped and cleaner than National Park campgrounds I’ve stayed at. They even have a library along with their hot showers. The fire ring was a great spot to wind down after exploring and the conversations around the fire were eclectic and engaging. When I go back, Mojo’s camp will be the first place I check.

Mojo's camp is the best camp in Slab City. It is clean and Mojo genuinely cares about her campers and the residents of our community and will go out of her way to help you. I have known her and been going to her camp for a little over a year and can only say if your coming out here it's definitely worth it to camp with her.So two years I have been out here in Slab City and my review hasn't changed just gotten better. Everything I said above still holds true and I consider Mojo to be a valuable friend who will gladly help both campers and Slabbers.

Mojo is fun, interesting, and an amazingly hospitable host. Mojo knows how to anticipate the needs of others, and has excellent follow through in delivering a great experience of Slab City. I hope to get back to Mojo's Slab Camp (the BEST camp) soon since I had such a great time there.

This place is so magical. My wife and I happened upon Mojo’s camp and were greeted like family. They held a plot for us while we went to get camping supplies and we all sat around the fire and roasted hot dogs and s’mores. We ventured off with a local named Stewie (BEST TOUR GUIDE EVER) who showed us some of the local hang outs and we had the time of our lives! Seriously a memory I never want to lose and I can’t wait to go back and make more! The camp dogs are all so friendly and cute. Everyone at the camp treated us like old friends. I really can’t explain in words how incredible our experience was. Get out to Mojos and make you some friends and some memories!

I felt like family ,as soon as I arrived , because thats how Vicky makes you feel. There were many amenties , that I weren't expecting . The camp dogs is a big benefit , they keep the camp well protected so I felt completely safe .As anyplace , I kept valuables out of sight and locked up when I left . I brought a bicycle with fat tires ( Mt bike ) that helps getting around the slabs, being a lot of loose sand . Vicky ( mojo ) is a sweet person . I can't wait to visit again . I was told that the camp may be closed this summer 2021 for a few months ,best to email mojo to verify camp sites availability .

Vickie (mojo) was incredibly drunk, and smelled of old cheese. There are intoxicated people who are mostly criminals staying here, this is not a very safe place for kids - yet there are kids everywhere! CPS should get involved <3

MoJo has the respect of the Slab community, because of services to help with providing water, clean needles, narcan, medical supplies, snake venom treatment, etc. Her camp is as safe as they come out here, and one of the best cared for.

Just spent 2 months there, loved every minute of it. A very friendly camp, never felt unsafe there. A great place to stay in slab city. We will probably head back that way next winter. A place to call home away from home.

If you're looking for something that is relatively clean and well organized well-managed with internet and showers then this may be the place for you and Slab City particularly if you want to minimize risk there's a lot of eyes on the camp somebody's always there and it's run more like a campground than any place else in the park.
