Pit stop although there was plenty of tables and chairs outside. We were only after hard cheeses and their Reserve fit the bill.Large variety.Friendly staff. No cheese tasting available.Good price point.Eggs sold out by Sunday 4:30 PM.That region is stunning--we hiked a bit, went to French Marin (they sold Nicasio Valley cheese for almost double the price), and back for more at Nicasio Valley. Enjoy!

We stopped in be for the New Year, we came away with Foggy Morning Cheese and so much more. You really cant go wrong in this store. Make sure to add this stop to road-trip. And locals, get a move on… day a day trip to west Marin, it’s full of hidden treasures!

People from all over pop into this tiny little cheese shop. You can taste a variety of cheeses and some jams/chutneys. We loved the Nicasio Reserve. Also picked up some lavender sugar and other snacks. We also thought the bri-style was yummy.

We had a cheese tasting and tour with Rick, Jeremy, and Flo - we were their first ever tour open to the public, and we couldn’t have had more fun. All of the cheese was delicious, and we walked away with so much more knowledge and respect for how they run their operations. The Foggy Morning (with basil and garlic) and Reserve were our favorites. I thought it was a nice touch that they had some fresh organic bread from a local bakery as well. I would recommend this experience for all ages - great way to spend a Friday.

What a joy to find while a driving tour of the area. To begin with, the landscape in the area and Nicassio Valley is simply stunning. The shop had a full spread of cheeses for sampling. We ended up purchasing quite a few cheeses and a few jams too. Worth the drive.

Good cheese! They also have salami, bread, and homemade jams. A must stop by if you're in the area.

We pulled up in our RV and went in and thought the farm and store was cute. The store clerk was waiting on a young couple letting them sample cheeses. As soon as they were done she put it away and didn't offer any to us.I shook my head since this was likely ageism. But the jokes on them. Two 50+ year old gay men touring the country in an RV should've screamed cha ching to anyone who knows anything about retail. We ended up buying a very tasty soft cheese, and some equally yummy organic jam. I'm almost sure we'd have spent a LOT MORE had the clerk actually given us a few samples.Oh, we still spent more than the young couple the clerk was courting. In the end she did us a favor, we didn't need more cheese anyway.

This place is wonderful. Not only do they have all their fantastic cheeses for sale, but lots of other local products (honey, jams, spreads, crackers, etc). A wonderful stop while out in Western Marin. And the views from the shop are pure California. Rolling hills, old trees dripping with moss, sometimes moo cows. I’m so glad we made it in right before they closed for the day yesterday.

I am so disappointed. After spending $55 on 4 pieces of cheese, a few cookies and granola I got home to find out that three out of the 4 cheeses were rotten. What a waste of $. Only the morning fog cheese was good. The others were slimy and exceptionally strong smelling when I opened the package. I generally like strong bold flavored cheese such as Stilton, but these had gone bad.

The cheese shop has lots of different varieties that you can't always find at local stores and markets. Ask them for any of the new cheeses they are working on and they will give you a sample. You can also pick up fixings for a picnic like crackers and jams (but there really isn't seating so you will need to take your picnic somewhere else).

Ordered cheese on Monday night & arrived at my East Coast home Thursday in perfect condition with recyclable packaging. Have wonderful memories of Nicasio Cheese while touring Marin County, so excited they are offering free shipping! Love Foggy Morning!

Wonderful little cheese chop up north from the city, about a 45 minute drive. Not the largest shop, but definitely has some of the best cheese in the Bay Area! Well worth stopping if you are heading up the coast to Tomales Bay or Bodega Bay. Don't forget to pick up a cheese trail map while you're there to discover more wonderful cheese shops!

Driving by, enjoying the beautiful scenery, until someone from the back seat calls out "free cheeeeese tastings!". A quick u-turn and I couldn't have been happier! All kinds of delicious tastings! Left with $50 dollars worth of awesome. The guys behind the counter were also super kind! Get that garlic-balsamic jam, you will not be disappointed.

We stopped by on our way home from the Point Reyes lighthouse. We really enjoyed the tasting. It was a great way to see the cheeses we really liked (we bought 3!). The prices are great too, especially for locally made, organic cheese.

The BEST cheeses ANYWHERE, and organic-biodynamic as well. The tasting room is a sampling of a dozen of their cheeses arranged clockwise from mildest to sharpest, and their several National Award varieties are proudly labeled. Prices are moderate, and we've never been able to escape without at least 3 varieties. And the countryside is additionally West Marin lovely.

Overall a cute place. What I really appreciated about this place was that they have the cheeses lined up in order for tasting (youngest to oldest, etc), so it's easy-ish to do the tasting yourself. However, they get 3 stars because they lack in customer service. The ladies there weren't that nice or helpful, and provided curt responses when I tried to ask questions about the cheeses--I'm here to enjoy but I also like to learn about my food. Once we were buying a cheese, they opened up a bit, but I feel like good customer service should start from the moment we walk in the door, and more effort should be made to teach customers about the cheese if they ask questions and express an interest in understanding the process of where their food comes from.

That location is actually a small cheese store with some additions as fruit preserves, honey, olive oils, eggs, candy's. All cheeses and eggs are organic. Found they product in Costco warehouse. Decided to check the original store and buy others types of cheeses.

Cute shop! Excellent, unique selection at very reasonable prices. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the shop is very small and only allows two people in at a time, which resulted in ~20 minutes of wait time at the door.

Excellent customer service. Described the 8 cheeses made on the premises as you sampled. A variety of crackers and jellies available as well. Too bad they haven't paired up with a local winery for a sip and nibble sample flight. Outdoor seating with golden eagles ariel displayes in June.

Great, locally produced cheeses. I stop by each time I pass through the area. Served 4 different styles at Thankgsgiving and they all were gone quickly. Flavor profiles to fit any body's taste.

We stopped by this week and bought Alpine Style Nicasio Reserve. Yum! My husband, a retired state and national cheese judge, says this one would do very well in cheese competitions. Congratulations Lafranchi family!
