Terrible Experience at West Marine - Car Towed While ShoppingI had an absolutely awful experience at West Marine recently, and I feel compelled to share my frustrations. While I was browsing their store, my car was unexpectedly towed, leaving me in complete disbelief and utter frustration.First and foremost, I must express my disappointment with West Marine’s lack of adequate parking facilities. It is simply unacceptable that customers visiting their store would have to worry about the safety of their vehicles while shopping. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I discovered that my car had been towed without any prior warning or notice.Moreover, the staff at West Marine showed a complete lack of empathy and assistance when I approached them for help. Instead of offering any practical solutions or taking responsibility for the situation, they seemed dismissive and uninterested. Their lack of concern for the inconvenience caused further exacerbated my frustration.As a customer, I expect a certain level of professionalism and care from any establishment I visit, especially one that deals with outdoor and recreational equipment like West Marine. Unfortunately, my experience only highlighted their disregard for customer satisfaction and their failure to address a critical issue like parking security.I strongly advise potential customers to think twice before visiting West Marine. The negligent parking situation and the apathetic response from the staff are clear indicators of a poorly managed store. Save yourself the headache and look for alternatives that prioritize customer safety and provide a more pleasant shopping experience.

Scammers!!! I arrived at the West Marine store to buy some stuff. I parked my car on the parking lot right front of the store, while I was spending time in the store, about 30 minutes passed, my car was towed from the parking lot, just like that! and I was not alone!! it’s appeared that special people were going through the parking lot and were tracking people who parked and how and whether the cars are customers of the plaza or not. , and so .., It turned out that they did not notice me and while I was inside the store my car was taken away ..Can you imagine that?!! when I was back no one wanted give me any information regarding this situation! I just got the comment that these guys thought that I was not a plaza customers an they decided to tow my car!!!!!!!! I wanted to warn all future customers in no case do not come here! otherwise you will be left without a car and spend more than $ 250 to return it and trust them they don't care about you at all. Scammers!!!!!

Very pleasant young Lady at the register. I picked up batteries, and Michael went out of his way, in spite of having to walk a bit of distance and it being the end of his shift, to get them loaded for me and my cores picked up. He also have me some great tips for a future purchase.

Helpful, upbeat employees. They might not have product knowledge but they're willing to walk you to the area needed to look for it. Cashier was young, bright, and willing to search for my information and update it but system (including POS) was very slow. Too bad I'm not on Port Supply any more.

2 months ago I gave the Long Beach West Marine a five-star rating. The next time I went in they could not be bothered. Ask for help finding something and basically I was on my own. Somebody needs to go in unannounced and ask for help to actually see how the employees are uninspired and can't stop talking to their friends or put down their phones. Ended up going to a Marine store in Long Beach that had exactly what I wanted and had it waiting at the counter when I walked in. West Marine Long Beach definitely needs new employees!

Excellent service today when replacing my dinghy battery. The sales folks were super helpful and friendly. The service guy offered some good recommendations and charging tips. Strong thumbs up for this store.

You would think that if they know something is miss marked, they would not put it back on the shelf for another customer, which was me, to get mislead on the price. After finding out the item is miss marked and finding out that I am not the only customer to which this has happened to, I ask them to honor the marked pice. The employee refused and actually asked me if I really wanted to go down this route. Well, since he said it that way, yes I do! There is a California law that addresses this type of bait and switch. Waiting for a call from the store manager.I am a very long time customer at multiple West Marine stores on both coasts. I have never been talked to by an employee in this manner. It felt as though I was being treated like I am the one who is in the wrong. This is at the Newport Beach location.

Another company whose quality went down the toilet for hiring unprofessional and untrained kids.Staff is untrained no clue about parts or how to find parts or how parts supersede to other numbers.Cashier Johnathan stands there texting while customer have to wait for him to finish before he addresses a customer. Then he gets upset and pouts because you interrupted him and his answers are always I dont know talk to somebody back there about every question even if its about cooler right in front of him. Very classless and poor staff now. Use to be a lot better. Now its a joke.

I recently went into the store and a sales associate helped me by the name of Carter K. He was very knowledgeable and helped me find what I needed and even showed me things I didnt even realize i needed! It was a great experience and I will definitely shop here again! Found my one true store for boating accessories and parts!

I went into the store on 5/24/19 specifically to purchase all new electronics for my boat. (Radar, Plotter, fish finder, auto-pilot etc) I literally waited 45 minutes for someone to assist me who never did. I ended up going online and buying everything later that day. Got all my info from an online forum. Spent about $11,000 all said and done. This isn't the first time I've tried to spend money in store and couldn't.

A boat is a hole in the water where people shovell their money, and West Marine is happy to help with that. This branch carries a very good selection, and if you need a general use part or other supply, they will surely have it. The quality will also be very high, so it will perform well. You'll just have to pay. A lot. Like up to double of what it costs on line. Having the right part available can be priceless, though, and West Marine knows that.

Went in to exchange a pair of flip flops that I received for a birthday present. They were packaged wrong with the size on the package not matching the shoe size. After waiting at the check out stand while the kid tried to figure out a customer discount that left the customer irate I was sent to customer service. I older blond lady told me that without the receipt she could not help me. I showed her the that size didn’t match the package. She said anyone could have changed it. I left disgusted I spend a ton of money in the store because I like the convenience of being close to the boat. I’m done, to loose customers over $20 is an indication of where that store is headed

This place is a complete mess, managers are incabable of performing easy task, items are everywhere and in the wrong spots, most but not all employees have 0 knowledge on the items they are selling and I would not recommend this place to anyone! Dana point or long beach would be you best bet but even then, Amazon has better prices.

Katelyn, manager at the register, I had to threaten going over her head for them to take back a faulty water pump. She finally offered an exchange of product which she could have done right up front. Hey West Marine! Do you really want our business or do we simply protest and stick to Amazon????

It is a West Marine store, lots of stuff for that hole in the water referred to as a boat. They offer clothing, ship lines, boat parts, paints, waxes etc. Suggest that you go early on the summer weekends, the parking in that part of Newport Beach is pretty hectic. The parking lot is patrolled to ensure that the parking is used for the stores in the lot, they like to tow scofflaws.

West Marine is awesome and the greatest place ever they are just very expensive. They have everything you need from boat parts to fishing lures . Boat chairs to live bait tanks. Electrical to motors. Troll motors to paddle boats paddle boards to kayaks and electronics to clothing. You need gear get it here!
