This is the most organized & clean FoodMaxx I've ever seen, This store has all the healthy food found in nature is up at the front when you first walk in, meat and vegetables before all the processed foods. Whoever is the manager here deserves a major award for the shopping experience and the communities health !!!

Shut this place down. Replace it with a Safeway! I only go to this store because it's around the corner from me. And everytime It never fails, theres never any carts at the front door, the cashiers are just standing around while we all scavenge the parking lot for shopping carts. Ive even helped the elderly a few times while the "employees" watched. It is not my job to do this and management needs to do something about it! They dont "bag" your groceries for you, not only are we paying for these people to "work" we have to do their job as well! Do better Newark!

There are so many types of groceries that are well organized.The vegetables are also fresh.I felt that the price was also cheaper.I really like this shop.

The ONLY two good things about Food Maxx is that it's right down the street from my house. But frankly, I usually prefer to go outta my way to go to Safeway instead. And the ONLY OTHER good thing about it is that it's cheap. But you get what you pay for, so it's usually not worth the discount in the long run.

Im totally bummed. They close early now. Shopping here after work was perfect for my schedule. Shopping before work is not possible since i live 15 miles away.I hope they reconsider their hours.

OMG!The prices are extremely low compared to other grocery stores near by. Huge selection of most items. Good quality products. Open til midnight for fellow insomniacs!

I really like going to many foodmaxx not only because my dad and i used to shop here back when i lived in Newark i live in san leandro and i come to newark only to shop here yes crazy huh! 🤣😊but i do it cuz its a clean store and also the customer service here its amazing. after new store manager Matt came and takes care of this store u can see the differences. I like to come because the employees know me know and its nice to walk in the door and be greeted i feel welcome i feel like family to be honest many people can complain but must be the ones that have come one day or two times but i come at least 4 times in a week believe it or not i rather drive all the way over there because this store is a clean store and its always organize not like other foodmaxx you go and have bunch of boxes on the floor like the lewelling store i had to go to the lewelling store and i was stress just by being there .but this store in newark has a great costumer service!!!! im short and im glad theirs many tall guys that work there because i always need help reaching the item that are on the top.too bad i couldnt get to take a picture of every aile but if you want to shop at a clean store this is the one.ive also had a chance to talk with the manager Matt couple times he is a very polite man i see why he has great team .his doing something right Thank you to all the Foodmaxx Staff in this store im so thankfull that you all work here and dont even think of moving these people because store wouldnt be the way it is thanks to them all .you guys are my heroes for keeping me feeling safe while shopping here.the prices are great too everything is so organize that i always grab many things .cant help myself ! 🤭🤗 if i didnt have a job i would come and apply here i really like the envirement and i tell all my coworkers to come and shop here.Big Thanks to all these Amazing Employees especially .i really apreciate them working so hard to keep this store in a amazing shape!I recommend 100%!!!!!!!!

Well stocked budget friendly grocer. The great produce and meat departments help to stretch budget. Go early to avoid the lines and find the best deals!New owners gave improved customer service alot! Give them a try!Still a good place to shop!

I was having a not so good day, but had to pick up a few items. I've been coming to this store since 1989(food 4 less). But lately I don't like coming because the young girl with glasses is usually there and she is not my favorite, she doesn't have common sense and has done so many ignorant things to me that I just don't care for her. Anyway, I noticed that one of my favorite checkers hasn't been around. This made me super sad. But today, he's back!!! Tristan is back. He has an amazing personality and he brightens my day. Today, not having a great day, he made it so much better, just with a smile. Thank you for bringing him back.Loyal customerJeanette Erwin

I come to this FM almost everyday. I have never felt or been treated the way I was today. And to be treated in such a manner by the supervisor had me floored. I was 100% discriminated against by the manager Raj.Yesterday when i was here, a cashier opened up a new register. The woman in front of me was next in line, even though I only had 1 thing in my hand, rightfully so she was taken first. Today, I am next in line when Raj opens a new register. Not only did I only have 1 thing to pay for I also had my baby i my hands. Being that I was next in line I expected to be taken at the newly opened register. Not only did Raj not take me next, he took the employee that was behind me, first. Which in all of my years working in customer service it's always known that our customers come first. When taking care of the employee Raj seemed to be very outgoing. But when it was my turn, I was never acknowledged. Raj didn't say a single word to me, from the time he scanned my 1 item to handing over my cash back and receipt. I was never greeted nor was I sent off with a "thank you" or " have a nice day". As I was leaving I notice the woman behind me was greeted with a "hey how are you!", again Raj showing his outgoing personality. I also noticed that the woman & her family shared some things in common with Raj, culturally. Being a gay black female I 100% feel discriminated against and I am highly offended and upset about this ordeal. To some this might seem like no big deal, but when it happens to you over and over again, it becomes a huge deal. Being that I am server, I would never treat any of my guest any different than I would want my mother to be treated when she is being taken care of and I expect the same treatment from others working in customer service. I will most definitely be seeking further action regarding this situation.

Its ok a basic store nothing fancy, no deli or anything like that, prices are not cheap but not expensive, their bakery section is pretty good excellent cookies

Good store as far as clean and well stocked. However, management really needs to staff with more Cashiers. I am standing in a line of 40 with only 3 cashiers on deck. Not cool. If you are big on customer service, this is really not the way to go.

On my way over there now. I like the Newark location alot more than the Fremont store. I really like the staff. They are always friendly and helpful. The store is always clean also. No spills on the floor etc.

Prices are good, just the amount of check out cashiers they have at times. Not enough resulting in long waits. They should be calling for more when one line starts to get long and when both lines are 5 deep. It's like where are the people?

The only place that has meat right now. I go into Luckys and Safeway and there's hardly any meat in the store. Prices here are perfect and I'm able to stay within my budget. Produce is good as well and the store is very clean. No funky milk smell in the dairy section at all!!!

Great store for bargain grocery shopping in the area. Nothing fancy just what is needed to display the items and sell the items - no fancy display or demonstration! Bagging my own grocery is fun and reminds me of my younger days working! They carry the major brands needed and their house brand. The house brand works and cost less!

There is usually only 3 checkers max regardless if the lines are long or short, but they move pretty quick. They also have free samples a lot.Update July 2020- this is my favorite store to go to. They are always stocked up and helpful.

Bad management the lines are always way too long and only 2 cashiers open. Good otherwise if you don't mind having some 8 customers ahead of you to pay. Today created a pretty negative environment the cashier threatened to just walk out the cashier should not have to be subjected to customer impatience. Management has got to get it together.

I would recommend people to avoid this store it's so bad. I have never gone here and not faced a 20 minute wait at the registers. Everything would be perfect except they're the only store that doesn't have self check out and for whatever reason they never have more than 2 cash registers open. No matter how long the lines are. It is absurdly long just to check out if I could give it less than one star I would.

I really like this place for my groceries. In Summer, I find watermelon with seeds only at this place. Great choices. Neat and clean and never had any issues with counter people either. Prices are decent as well.

When I lived in Newark I went there to do all my food shopping. Really good prices, good selection. Produce is very good and fresh, and the meat selection is pretty decent as well. You'll notice right away you're saving a lot of money buying your groceries at FoodMaxx.

The prices are extremely reasonable, wise isles to walk around with a big wide cart, almost everything is available you need. Main thing is that vegetables and meat sections are clean with quite low prices.I always go to food max for grocery shopping.
