My mom works full time and has to drop me off at around 8:20, but my school doesn't start until 9:15. This is a nice place to stay when it's too cold and rainy to wait outside school. The coffee's great, too, and the staff are nice. Longest I've ever had to wait for coffee was five or ten minutes, and that was an outlier. It's not too expensive, either.

I follow the IG page for this coffee shop and finally made it in to see it in person. It’s a quaint little shop right on Broad Street. Friendly service, good coffee, yummy muffins. There’s a cozy spot to sit and watch the people walk by, too!

This is a super cute little spot. They have coffee, bagels, pastries, as well as lunch and breakfast items. We had the bagel and lox and a sunrise breakfast sandwich with coffees. Great price, super friendly staff, and a cool atmosphere. Even though Nevada City was snowed out, they still opened for breakfast. Thanks for the awesome Sunday morning eats! Highly recommend.

Service was a little slow we had ordered and were sitting staff didnt see customer waiting and they ended up leaving. Took quite a bit to get 2 coffee drinks and a bagel sandwich. Bagel sandwich was ok only ate half. Bran muffin was microwaved way too long but tasted good until it got hard and was served eaten way before coffee.The coffee drinks got high praise from my kids which is saying a lot as they both work at coffee shops!

I ordered the Vegan breakfast burrito which was delicious! They made a chorizo quinoa which was tasty, and very filling. I also ordered a large iced latte with oat milk and lavender syrup which was incredible. You can tell the coffee itself is high quality and adds to the experience & aromas. I stayed in the cafe to get work done and the environment was welcoming. The workers were knowledgeable of their craft and kind. I highly recommend stopping in here!

This place is super cute honestly, and the coffee is decent if it’s made by the right person. However every single time I’ve ordered a bagel they either forget and I end up waiting 20 minutes (even if no one else is in there) I watched the woman make my bagel this last time and she never once washed her hands, was rude at the front with me as if I was an inconvenience and even though there was only a couple people in there. I always over tip, I’m quiet and try to stay out of the way so it does hurt sometimes when employees are rude. Most of Nevada city employees are like this though so I try to not take it personally they must not be paid well. I only came because my usual coffee spot had a line out the door. Just feeling discouraged when I try and support this place, I am let down every time.

The coffee was lovely, and the service was friendly and professional from baristas who know their craft. The charmer for me, though, was the helping hand this little gem offers the community. People with extra can buy an item, and a tag gets placed in a basket for people in need to take a little something for the hard times. I love it so much.

Great option for a simple liquid refreshment, a delectable baked goodie or a full-on breakfast or lunch item. The staff are definitely the friendliest, most welcoming in all of Nevada City, and the vibe is cool and inviting. Don;t just pass by --- drop in and enjoy!

The atmosphere and staff here are always wonderful and the made to order sandwiches and coffee drinks are good. That being said the last 3 burritos I've gotten here over the course of months all had old wilted Spinach that has expired. A buddha bowl I recently got also had wilted greens. The kale coleslaw we got as a side dish recently was old and rotten also. I think the cold case dishes are being left too long in the case. Love the atmosphere but I caution people against the cold case dishes.

Good espresso is hard to find. It requires someone who knows what they're doing and cares about doing it right. This is one of those places. Yes, they have heart and they have skill. I ordered a large breve latte. The half and half was caramelized perfectly at 140 degrees and the espresso was pulled with a creamy and balanced flavor or freshly roasted beans. Well done.

I ordered a latte with whole milk and two cinnamon rolls for pick up. when i arrived my coffee was sitting on the counter with a piece of scotch tape over the mouth piece. i don't even want to think about what chemicals get leeched into a hot beverage when you try to enclose it with tape... this is not the first time this has happened to me here by the way, seems like this is a common practice. aside from that the coffee tasted like it had been made with almond milk, not whole milk from a cow. i do not like to drink almond "milk" as restaurants commonly use store bought nut or oat milks that contain toxic or otherwise unnecessary additives, instead of just making their own from whole ingredients. i actually went back to the restaurant to ask the girl who made my coffee what kind of milk she used and she could not recall. i would recommend not eating here if you want the people making and serving your food to be mindful of what is going in to it. and not to mention the cinnamon rolls tasted like diabetes and heart disease squeezed out on to a twisted bun.

I love this place!!! Great vibes. So awesome they offer pay it forward vouchers for those in need. And their vegan breakfast burrito is delicious with house-made plant-based chorizo!!

If I could give java John's 7 stars I would! We stopped in for a quick bite. I got a bagel sandwich. It was so fresh, flavorful and delicious! My husband got a sandwich, also top notch. I was full half way through but finished it anyway because I didn't want to waste a bite of either the bagel or the sandwich.AND the staff was great- very personable and kind. If I lived in town, I would want to be friends with these people. We came in this morning as we were heading out of town because I really wanted to try one of their specialty lattes- which was delicious. 10/10 would recommend.

I really enjoyed stopping here for a sandwich and a tasty beverage. The vibe is trendy, yet earthy- and the service was good. They have a variety of breakfast and lunch items for all types of diets. (Gluten free, vegan etc.)I actually stopped in twice in one day recently. The first time for a sandwich and a drink where I grabbed a table and dined in - the second time I popped in just for a drink to go.On my first visit I had the Cali Turkey and an Iced Mocha with an extra shot. The sandwich was very good and was served with a side of Kale Salad that was AMAZING. The Mocha was just okay. I added a shot of espresso but couldn't taste the coffee. I didn't really taste chocolate either, so I was disappointed with that drink.The second time I stopped in I got a berry Iced Tea to go. Now that was a TASTY BEVERAGE!! The Berry Iced Tea was flavorful and refreshing, and was the perfect drink for a hot day.Don't be in a hurry when you stop in because from what I could see, they are always pretty busy. All in all I would recommend that you give them a try if you're in the area.

Great small business! I needed to put together a catered breakfast for a family in Nevada City and the owner Elizabeth helped me make it happen in just a few days over phone and email. She was personable and flexible with special dietary requests like GF and vegan. We went with a combo of bagels, egg bites, coffee, and freshly squeezed OJ for the group. Don't hesitate to work with Elizabeth on catering orders - she and her business are awesome!

Second time I’ve received a bagel sandwich so burnt I couldn’t eat it, just when I decided to give them another try. Anyone that will hand you a sandwich made with a burnt to a crisp bagel doesn’t care about the customer.I wish there was an option to post a pic.Do better! Really disappointing
