I ordered 5 orandas, I received them two days ago at first they were a little stressed which is normal due to the trip since I live in Florida and it is a long trip and I ordered it with two days delivery but after I quarantined them and the I treated them as they should, they are fine. They are definitely high-quality goldfish. very healthy. Thank you very much Coast Gem USA and Gunther who was very kind and gave me the information I needed. I am very happy and will definitely be ordering in the future. I recommend them 100%. I have been in the fish hobby for many years and I know when a fish is healthy and has quality.

Edited again:THEY FINALLY RESPONDED TO MY EMAIL after over two weeks requesting a video of the DOA fish..... after two weeks.This company is horrible.Edited: change from 2 stars to 1Received the guppies today. I paid for overnight shipping. From California to MD.THEY DIDNT PUT WARMERS IN THE BOX WITH THE GUPPIES. One arrived DOA.Don't buy from these people.I've ordered from this company twice.And both times, my orders weren't shipped until AFTER I contacted them because of how long it had been with no update.And each time, they magically shipped out the order immediately. But nobody ever replied to my email, I just got an automated one with the shipping info.But this last time, I ordered 4 guppies on March 1st and as of March 24th, I had zero updates on my order.So I sent a email requesting my order be CANCELED for a full refund.After no reply, I emailed again on the 26th.Then on the 27th, I get an email saying they refunded one of my guppies and sent out the rest. No communication from customer service to me either. Just two automated emails.The only reason I'm not giving them 1 star, is because the guppies arrive well packed and seem to be healthy.But unless you plan on hounding these people via email for your order while receiving zero customer service, don't order.

First order, wrong fish. Second order one bubble eye dead less than 24hrs. It bag had depleted air. Day of introduction of fish to tank one black oranda exhibiting swim bladder illness. Originally CG said no issues. Within 1 week 4/4 fish have swim bladder, tail rot and red gill. Removed dying fish. No other fish in my tank are impacted. No response from the previously friendly and helpful Gunther.

BEWARE***I have bought fish from them over the years. Sometimes they got the order right but they usually messed up something in the order. My last order they sent me a bunch of wrong fish. I ordered AFRICAN CICHLIDS and they sent me guppies and betta fish i didnt order. They refused to give me credit or a refund after sending me the wrong african cichlids too. I'm done with them. Scammers! I did not order the fish in the photos attached

I ordered 2 white and 1 black ranchu gold fishes. A little late shipment due to the black one was out of stock, I called to changed my order to all white ranchu. the person on the phone was very helpful and happy to help me fulfill my order. Got the fishes 2 days afterwards, beautiful and healthy fishes. Thanks .

This place is a scam it took a month for me to get my fish, they didn’t even have the one I ordered off the website, I was suppose to get 1 day shipping they instead shipped it out for 2 day shipping, they knew I lived in Ohio and did not put a heating pad to keep water warm for the peacock cichlid. Bag was not sealed water was leaking out fish had no oxygen, packing was terrible, they only do store credit and want you to pay for shipping again even tho the fish died cause of how they packaged it. Should not be a business they need shut down. Place is a joke. If I could I would give them 0 stars they don’t even deserve 1.

I live in Florida and have been searching for a super red halfmoon betta EVERYWHERE and no luck at all! Was skeptical about ordering a live fish online but I am soooo happy I did! I just got him today and he is alive and well! So of energy! Got him in 3 days! Very fast and awesome prices! What sold me the most was the customer service though, James is amazing and made me feel confident when buying! He did not disappoint!! Highly recommend asking for him when calling for any information 😊

ordered 2 boys about a month ago but when I contacted them about it, one of them that arrived to the facility was incorrect and the other one was missing. thankfully i was helped out otp and picked 2 different fish out. i wish they were the original fish that i’ve ordered since i’ve been looking for months for those specific ones :(. they arrived healthy the very next day and look way better in person!

I got a fish tank from a friend and decided I wanted a betta. I found the most beautiful fish at Coast Gem. I was able to see the actual fish on their YouTube and pulled the trigger on the purchase. I was very excited to have the fish, and with the holiday around the corner I reached out to the team and James was able to send out my fish that very day! The little guy was healthy and happy upon arrival and is absolutely thriving in his new tank!!

This store has an astounding selection of livestock and very friendly and helpful staff. Go there IN PERSON for the best experience!!Their selection of bettas is especially stunning, and picking one out from shelves and shelves of gorgeous options is a lot of fun. They are also very affordably priced for how beautiful they are, compared to other LFS.I also found my dream fish here, a beautiful red cauliflower swordtail, and I was given lots of tips for breeding these fish in the future.We had a long drive ahead and they gave us breather bags to keep the fish happy the whole ride home. Very good customer service.

I don't think people give this small, 4 man run, Mom and Pop fish store enough credit. This place provided beautiful, healthy fish at very fair pricing, yet people want to complain about the wait time. I ordered my first and while it did take a good 4 weeks to receive them, I also understand that I am out of state and that they can only do so much with 4 employees. James, who I believe is the owner, was also on vacation at the time.Upon his return, he was on top of it as some things got amiss as well as an order accidentally canceled. James immediately responded to me as soon as he was back and went above and beyond to take care of me. Not only did he ship out my order the very day they were back in stalk but he also threw in some free fish for the inconvenience. He also didn't charge me again for the canceled order which was a $60 value. I always believe kindness and patience takes you so much further and James responded to me with the exact sme sentiments I showed him. I will be using their services again and hope that people will show a little more understanding for this wonderful place. Thanks again James, you turned this into an enjoyable experience for me!

My whole experience with this place was terrible. Ordered 4 trios of guppies and some other fish. Total was enough to qualify for the free shipping offer but still was charged shipping no matter what I tried. When the day came for them to ship the fish I started getting emails that I was being refunded for the other fish types I ordered and two of the male guppies. Now it made sense why I couldn’t get the free shipping they either didn’t have the fish or they would have had to use a bigger box and cost them more. I’m certain that the free shipping is a scam to get you to order more. As for the refunding and canceling the fish you should contact the customer since now I have two pairs of female guppies for a breeding program and no males , hopefully the females are pregnant. Finally the fish arrive out of one trio all three have white fungal growths on their heads and one with a severely bent spine. The other trio the male has a bent spine hopefully if he has breed with the females I get at least one male that has good genetics. One of the last two female pairs they sent me had a female die while drip acclimating leaving me with one female I hope is pregnant. If these are what this place sells I am amazed they are still in business. I would stay far away from them and try to find what you want locally or see if your LFS can special order them for you.

I give 4 stars. -1 for small issues.I ordered these fish February 23, 2023 which is a Thursday. On their website they claim to ship Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. But in later emails they claimed Sunday-Thursday and Thursday for overnight. (Wish they would be clear about that)I figured ok, next week the fish should ship out, they didn’t. That’s weird, I emailed customer support. Also because their website had a glitch that said I only ordered 1 male and 1 female when I paid for 1 male and 3 females.They told me in short, “Your estimated shipping date is  Mar, 5th to Mar, 15th. Due to Rules and Regulations, before shipping our fish we quarantine. The quarantine process for the orders takes longer than usual. This process will determine if the fish is healthy or not to ship to you.”I figured ok, that’s a little long but for healthy fish it’s worth it. I frequently looked up my order number on the order lookup page, but for some reason it stopped working almost a week before March 15th. And continued to not work up until I received my fish. (March 23rd). And a few days before my order came thru changed their entire website entirely to a shopify layout! In which you can’t leave reviews. So now I’m on google.Wednesday March 15th rolls around and I have still yet to get any fish. Or an email, still getting plenty of emails about new fish in stock though…I’m irritated so I call the number on the site.Call #1 I essentially get “we’re sorry, we should have it shipped out today if not tomorrow.” Ok, cool.Then I get a call back ten minutes later, apparently 1 of the 3 females I ordered wasn’t looking so healthy and probably wasn’t going to survive shipping. They were ordering new fish and they said they’ll ship my fish out next week.While I appreciate the great customer service, I find it strange that after 4 weeks they don’t have healthy fish they can sell! But again, I’d rather get healthy fish than not. So I wait another week, keep in mind I paid $60 for these fish ($55 with a discount code) and another $21 for 2-3 day shipping.To give them the benefit of the doubt I waited until next week Wednesday. March 22nd. Order finally ships, a day later I receive them.Packing was good, the fish seemed plenty healthy, good bellies, good color. Very active and curious. Water was a bit cold but that’s to be expected.All in all, shipping the fish could be better. But the fish arrived well and healthy. I’d recommend ordering from this place IF you make the effort to call customer support after 2 weeks to make sure you get your order.Edit- 4 months later the fish are still looking great and breeding healthy offspring. Albino koi guppy if anyone’s curious.

EDIT: One ranchu bullied the other who died from the wounds within 5 days of arrival and had been bullied during shipping together I assume based on brief behavior together.. the bully has major swim bladder issues and probably won't last much longer despite aggressive treatment.The female guppy killed the male. Overall I have one 130 dollar guppy.Would not recommend at the chance of being sent sick fish. Sucks to spend money medicating the expensive sick fish and they just die anyways. It hasn't even been long. Depressing. I should had listened to the BBB. I wish I could get my money back.

I ordered $450 worth of Panda Orandas and pre-selected individuals that I wanted for my tanks. I called the week of my shipment date(partially due to the negative comments on here) wanting to confirm that my fish would ship out. I was told that my fish were late arriving to SD and that they would ship out the following week. I was concerned because I had a work trip coming up and was worried if the timeline wasn't perfect, they might arrive when I was not home. After talking to Gunther, he told me that he could text me photos of similar fish that they currently had and if I was interested, they could ship the next day to me. After having Gunther find what I was looking for, I chose to pick the new fish so I could have them immediately shipped. They arrived the next day and initially they seemed to struggle a bit, probably from the stress of being shipped. After about 6 hours, all seemed happy and normal. It is now day 3 and I am very pleased with my purchase and assistance from Gunther.Giving 4 stars. Would have been 5 but I had I not called on my own, I wouldn't have known about the shipping delay (and likely would've had fish sitting on my porch). Gunther was great and I appreciate his help!

With all these bad reviews I wasn’t giving it much thought to go in person but I went anyways and I’m glad I did! First for most the fish do the speaking on why I’m so glad I decided to go. Secondly you get to pick your fish personally catch it and all which was a nice way for me that I wanted the one I wanted and I’m most definitely not disappointed! Also all the fish were really healthy, James knows what he’s doing. Honestly don’t overthink buying from here as I’m going to again come soon to buy even more cichlids from here. Thx again James! They just used the bag itself to tight. Hence, I would not even use Oxygen for the bags. Water leaked every where.3. Fish quality: The most important thing. Please don't look at pictures they have! They look just like 10% version of the pictures! Jesus! I should've paid for shipping for higher quality fish from Thailand or Vietnam. They this site sent was like $1 from these countries. I have no idea how they can do a business like this!

This place is the worst! I placed an order of guppies and waited weeks for them to be shipped, and reached out and was told that it was going to take a couple of weeks more for them to ship my order which was fine with me. Days after I was informed that my order was already delivered already, I tired to get in contact with them multiple times and never heard back. I will be filing a consumer complaint with the attorney’s general since from what I read this is not the first time they are doing this to customers. Please if you have had any previous issues with them file a claim report with the attorney’s general, they will surely start an investigation on this business. Also, take it to social media as well. I will be sharing this with the couple of thousands of followers i have. Even if you have a few just share your experience. I work hard for my money and consumers have a rights. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy from this shop.

I received my beautiful guppies with no issues. Will definitely order again.UPDATE: I've had the fish about 2 weeks my male has died. Looks to be a fungus. Attempting to treat and save one of my females but not looking promising. Thankfully, they were quarantined and away from my healthy fish. The tank that they were quarantined in has never had another fish in it so the sickness came with them.

They are in fact a scam. I ordered my fish over a month ago a d it still doesn't even have a tracking number. I believe the pick your own fish is a money grab. The fish I picked was listed as 2 months old 2 months before I bought it. So it's 6 old months at least now and that's no longer what I ordered. If they said 3 months to ship I wouldn't have purchased here.I will update review if they remember that I Exist.

This is by far the worst fish store to ever get fish from.The worst shipping for any store I have ever dealt with .. for the hassle and wait you could walk to Asia and get the fish yourself and still make it back before they decide to answer the phone to ship your items…Anything dead on arrival, to get them replaced it’s 20+ $ to ship them to you and if you wait 2 months for them to decide to ship them, your items will be dead again…Places like this make you want to choose another hobby.I wish the star system went backwards so I could give them a -5 stars..I don’t see how they are still in business…The prices of the fish are outrageous and make you think this company would at least stand on business…I own my own business and if I treated customers like this I would be broke in a matter of transactions.Save your money and shop local…Unless you want to waste money and you like a nice migraine or aneurysm.

( the small choice adopt are small size but looks thick lol. both fish came healthy! And I’m satisfied, SHIPPING TIME WAS a 5 days from Cali to Alaska. Very poor experience with this company. I ordered fish months ago, and did not hear anything from them. Their site said 5-12 day processing. I called them three months later, and they told me that two of the ranchu goldfish I selected they no longer had (though they were still on the site and did not reach out to me to let me know). I would not have minded choosing different fish, but there was zero communication on their part. When the fish arrived, they immediately developed white spots. I've been keeping fish for a long time and have never dealt with such sick fish, I medicated them and kept the water levels as stable as ever but it was no use, they did not last a week. Do not buy from them.

If I could give them a 0 I would. DON'T BUY A FISH FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! My husband bought a male betta for me as a surprise. It took an incredibly long time for them to ship the fish and when I received it, the fish was dead and pieces of it were floating in the bag where it had clearly begun decomposing (see pictures).I reached out and it took several days to get a response in which they stated they were issuing a credit for the cost of the fish so our only option was buy another fish from them or lose our $35. There was no offer to issue a refund for sending us a dead fish. We don't want to buy another fish from them after this situation plus the countless other poor reviews we have recently read. And even if we did want another fish from them, when I asked if they would be shipping the replacement fish for free since we already paid $21 for shipping to receive a poorly packaged, dead fish, they said no; that wasn't their policy and that we would be expected to fork over another $21 for shipping.Do yourselves a favor and buy your fish elsewhere. This place is the fish equivalent of a backyard breeder. They are unethical and have questionable business practices.

The website says up to 10 days hold time and they shipped my order after 7 days. I got it within 24 hours and all fish were alive. I believe my order had two fish of the same kind and was missing one that I ordered. Three fish were clearly distressed and didn't make it. I ended up with two of the six guppies i ordered being healthy and hearty. I will not order from them again under those circumstances unfortunately.
