The sweet and spicy calamari had amazing sauce, the jalapeño peppers were spicy, the fish and chips were tasty good size serving, fried artichokes were very yummy, the skirt steak was tender but a little over marinated. Beer was nice and cold.Vegetarian options: Fried artichokes and maybe saladsParking: Your either park along the street, I wasn’t sure about a parking lot, however there was one in between this restaurant and another.Kid-friendliness: It’s a small diner, not a huge menu selection for them.

The service was amazing. We were seated immediately by the owner and our order quickly taken. I ordered the Mickey mouse pancake for my daughter and they surprised her with Minnie which made her day! The Fried Artichoke was delicious. We split the patty melt and fries which was the perfect portion for our lunch. Highly recommend this cute diner!

The food was plenty and delicious. The teen waiter lacked a smile, positive and welcoming attitude. He lacked grace in placing stemware, coffee, cream on the table which could be considered as almost throwing them down, not placing on table. I had to get two settings from another table. I wasn't offered a refill on my coffee and my first and only cup of coffee served lacked a spoon and creamer.

SO SO happy we stumbled upon this place after seeing the ‘Deep fried artichokes’ sign on the freeway. The artichokes were amazing! A lovely substitute for fish for vegetarians that are hanging out with seafood lovers. The host was lovely, served us hot water instead of regular iced water no problem - the decor and flowers made for the perfect ambience. Continued on with our roadtrip feeling so satisfied!!

Superb!Everything you could ask for was there and they’re famous fried artichoke cards were to die for! So crispy is so crunchy and so delicious! All of the condiments you could ask for were on the table, plenty of napkins, delicious iced tea! The waitress was so attentive we were gonna ask for baggie to bring some food for our doggies and she anticipates that without us even having to ask. Simply superb!

This is exactly the small roadside Café. You would expect any Harbor and fishing community. Located just a couple blocks from the harbor area is small restaurant that is favorite with the locals. There’s not a lot of seating so sometimes there’s a little wait. The staff is very friendly and tentative constantly refilling your coffee and catering to all your needs. The crab and artichoke and cheese omelette was pretty good however, it was overcooked. It would be nice if they offered country fried potatoes in addition to the shredded, hashbrowns. The deep-fried artichokes are to die for with their crispy outside and soft artichoke center. I wouldn’t pass it up if you’re in the area and you’ll be the judge.

I rated the service 5 stars because the host and lady who took our order were so very friendly. We all felt welcomed and it definitely enhanced our experience. We ordered the fish and chips - one kid size and the other regular, both a great helping of fish, the regular comes with a third piece and cole slaw.My friend and I split the special Louie Salad and they plated it separate for us (and we didn't even ask for this, so lovely). Also had to try the fried artichokes 😍 yummmm first time experience was Ah-mazing.Thank you so much for a wonderful food family experience ❤️

Small, friendly, cozy atmosphere and great food and service with owner/chef’s personal touch. Great selection of wines. Menu is not immense but everything on it is great to experience and Owner/Chef Mark can adjust the food to suit your palate if the standard way of serving is not your favorite choice. Visited many, many times over the years for breakfast, lunch and dinner and none of the experiences were ever reduced to even 4 star level. Always a 5 star experience in this little gem in Moss Landing!

Fresh perfectly seasoned food prepared with care and delivered by friendly staff in a welcoming environment. Chicken Fried steak had the perfect amount of breading, gravy was light not greasy or pre made and had a great fresh sage flavor. Biscuits are fluffy and butter. Coffee was superb, light and fresh. Go support a true small local gem of a restaurantParking: Park on the right side streetKid-friendliness: My niece got French toast and loved it. Texas yellow toast with a nice sear

Hole in the wall cafe off the side of the road. This little cafe is seemingly a local favorite and often frequented by residents of the area. They serve breakfast until 11:30am (except on Tuesdays) and breakfast all day on weekends. Came in hoping to get breakfast but we just missed the cut off.Overall, it was cafe food that you’d expect to find on the side of the road. Not amazing, not terrible, just very blah. I won’t seek this place out but it did the job of feeding us. Whatever you order you’ll need to add salt and pepper to it; but I appreciate the wide variety of options available to you.

Great friendly little place that welcomed our large group. They'll take lunch orders for breakfast, give you endless coffee and swap out what you need in the dish. I did ask for over-medium eggs and seemed to get sunny side up (really hate raw egg whites..!) but other than that, good stuff. Delicious fish.

Staying Moss Landing for weekend. There are not many choices around for breakfast. Actually it was the only choice breakfast nearby my hotel or driving all the way down to Monterey. The breakfast was good, but not amazing. Coffee was ok. Friendly service. Nice local cafe.

I order the takeout squid and chips and it wasn’t the original owners Marks recipe. The fries were generic not his seasoned fries which were the best, didn’t get the coleslaw that was part of the order according to the menu, the squid was not Mark’s recipe. The most dried out squid I I ever had and I always compared Marks recipe to anywhere I traveled and his was the best by far. I have been a customer for over 25 years. Moss landing Cafe is not following Marks recipe. I’m never going back😔

Discover this great small community dining experience if you are in the Moss Landing area. Great food in a cozy setting less hectic than other Monterey Bay venues. Checkout the specials and local favorites. Make it a destination for breakfast and explore the nearby beaches and harbor. It is an exceptional low key cafe with personal service and well thought out comfort food offerings.

Excellent food for reasonable prices with friendly service in a roadside cafe. Be sure to have artichokes fried or steamed with your meal. If you just want fish and chips or a burger they also serve that in addition to breakfast items. A nice alternative to some of the busier but also excellent restaurants in Moss Landing if you want a quicker meal.

I passed this place so many times over the years and I finally decided to stop and try its food, I'm so glad I did.. the burger was delicious along with the French fries... and super affordable only 13 dlls, nor inky that the service was friendly and fast. Definetly coming back to try the breakfast.

This place is cute and small. A small little spot for a good portion size breakfast. The fried artichokes were amazing and the chorizo omelet was good too. The prices were good too. Dont be thrown off by it being a locals spot, as it it is a good spot for those of us just passing through to get a bite to eat heading to Monterey. Moss landing doesn't have much to see but if your grabbing veggies and fruit from the local stands and are hungry stop by and grab some breakfast. The people are nice too.

This place is so true to its roots as a locals’ “down home” comfortable cafe. Brian was welcoming and takes great care of the customers. The food is delicious and generous (they’ve had the same cook for 18 years!). Specializing in local seafood, I had the deep-fried oysters, with the best fries and a yummy cole slaw The menu looked so enticing - Going back for breakfast soon!Parking: Close and easy.

Great little place and according to the menu "it's where the locals come." I don't blame them. The food is so fresh and well prepared. The owner is the chef and it shows in the care that is taken with the quality of the food. My daughter had the Cesar Salad and it was not only pretty when it arrived to our table but there was plenty of it. I had the fried Calamari and every bite was tender cooked perfectly. We ordered the fried Artichokes, which was the sign that drew us here in the first place. We were not disappointed. If you're not hungry, passing by, stop and have the fried Artichokes and a beer. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Fish and chips were on point. Friendly staff, food in a timely manner, great portions, great flavor, would definitely go back. It may seem a little pricey to those unfamiliar with sea food, but honestly a great buy.

Pretty good, I got a coupon from Moss landing in to buy an entree and get a free deep fried artichoke, it ended up being kind of overwhelming for one person but the food is really yummy and the people are nice and very homely..
