Very nice, helpful, no price gouging. Prompt service and easy to understand diagnosis, after care, and reasonably priced prescriptions.

It was always impossible to get an appointment with our previous vet which prompted us to find a new place (Crescenta Valley) and we’ve never looked back. The team is so responsive and makes sure our dogs are seen when they need to be. Front desk people are always helpful and both vets are caring and thorough.

We just recently got a pug puppy and brought him in for a check up. Turned out he had the Parvo Virus. The entire staff were worried for him and immediately started treatment. They told us 50/50 chance of surviving it. He also had a parasite in his stomach. We are so blessed and thankful for the entire staff they gave us all the info on how to treat him at home. 2nd and 3rd day was really rough but after the 4th day we all saw improvement. We had to sirenge feed our puppy and sirenge water constantly. He is now a week through finding out and is recovering 100% and gaining weight.Thank you to the staff forever in debt.

It was comfortable and they wanted to do a lot of testing but I opted out of that until necessary. I got nails trimmed and they filled his medicine. It was affordable that day. It was my first time there. They did a good job for us.

We enjoyed our first visit to CVVH! We went to have a hot spot checked out and were glad to see the care that our boys received. The staff treated them with attention and compassion. The visit included Two wellness check-ups, two heart-worm tests and hot spot treatment and totaled around $300.

There staff was very polite and helpful plus was able to get us same day appt for my sick fur-baby. The vet was very gentle in his exam and through in explaining what steps was neccessary at home to get my fur-baby better at home which is very important to me!!

We've taken all our animals here and we've always had a great experience. Nice people, quick yet they explain things well, and we're always able to get an appointment fairly soon. We just brought our puppy because she may have caught something at doggy daycare and they were able to squeeze us in before she got really sick. She's getting better every day. I think their prices are super reasonable. I just don't know if they have an exotic vet anymore, she used to only be in on Thursdays. Wish they had an exotic vet more available (or available at all if she's not there anymore). I'd like them to be able to care for all my animals, including my bird and lizard. Also, someone complained about the covid-19 protocol but their protocol is the same as every other vet in town, including emergency vets. They let us come in to learn how to give our cat IV fluids and otherwise I don't feel the need to be in the room. I understand the protocol and am used to it. Their protocol with contagious animal diseases like kennel cough is good too. They have a separate exam area and separate entrance so sick animals don't cross paths with other animals. Great vet.

They are very expensive and the Vet never seems to have a confident diagnosis. The last three times I visited (for a variety of reasons), I left at least annoyed, if not upset, and I've decided enough is enough. You can do better!

We have been coming here for several years. We have enjoyed the kindness of the veterinarians and the staff throughout all of this time. Until today Saturday morning when we pulled up in front at 1:00 on the head to drop off a stool sample and we’re told they were closed and the stool samples were already on there way out the door for testing. They close at 1:00 and I completely understand the receptionist that I spoke with ends her day by a schedule and refuses to take the sample at 1:00. I guess I was expecting better service. Perhaps she is a new receptionist and only there for a paycheck because she lacks a real compassion for animals. She knows that she observed us pull up at 1:00 cuz she immediately left the lobby and went into the back.

On October 18th, 2020, is when my 21-year-old cat passed away. They helped me to put her to rest into ashes. Gave me, a clay paw print of my cat named Angel and a card signed by all of them telling me they understand the pain of losing a best friend as your family member.

We started using this veterinary office during the middle of 2020. At first we were very happy. We had to go in Recently and most unfortunately to euthanize our cat of 20 years. It was the most gut wrenching experience of my life. I was under the impression they would give him a sedative before performing the procedure. I asked about it. They told me they had to get him ready for the procedure. They took him behind closed doors, we could hear my poor baby howling throughout the entire office. It was blood curdling, they were hurting him. By the time he got to us he had both front paws bandaged up. They obviously did not install his port correctly. By then we were so distraught I had to get him out of his pain. I did notice all of the staff were new. Especially the Dr. I should have demanded they stop him as soon as the crying started. No animal should have to go through that. Especially at the end of thier lives. I am just devastated at the treatment.

If I could leave a lower score I would. My dog is a special needs dog and we needed a refill on medication. The receptionist told us we could not get a refill because it had to be done by a specialty doctor, which the vet at this clinic did not inform us. I told them what the vet said and that by not prescribing the medication my dog could die without it and they are negligent by not prescribing the medication. The receptionist ended up admitting that she didn’t know about my dogs situation and she would check with the vet.

I love the staff at Crescenta Valley. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to make sure my dogs are comfortable and safe. Dr. Youn listens to my concerns and helps me arrive at the best decision for me and my pups, instead of steering me to the most expensive option.I am very grateful for Crescenta Valley. If there was a 10 star rating I would award it to them.

For our 12 years our family has taken our pets (4 Dogs) to CVVH, which is owned and operated by Dr. Black, DVM. We have been most pleased with the service. The entire staff or the facility reflect Dr. Blacks values and kindness regarding pets and their owners. We have found them to offer excellent service - quite timely appointments, and have a full diagnostic facility. Our dogs are very happy when they go there - of things tribute - as dogs are better at judging people than are other people!Without reservation we highly recommend this facility - headed by Dr. Black, DVM.Sincerely,Marvin A. We have taken our dogs to Dr. Black & his associates since the month they opened, and have never regretted it. Service from all staff is efficient, friendly, feels like family. Our last two dogs started at another vet, but switched to Dr. Black, who took care of them all the way across the "rainbow bridge". He performed near-miraculous surgery to bring back our boy from a double-hit of cancer and give us a few more fun-filled years. Now, we have embraced two newer dogs, and they are enjoying their visits to CVVH. They really like going there. We really appreciate the reminders for vaccines and other timed care. This place is the best.

Dr. Keri Franco is the reason I started going to CV Vet Hospital. She has taken care of my pooch, Kalani, since he was 3 months old...now he's 3-and-a-half years old! Dr. Franco is caring, calm, personable and an extremely educated vet; I trust her completely and appreciate her guidance. CV Vet Hospital is well-organized and so very clean. The staff (receptionists and vet techs) have always been kind to me and my dog. Before having any procedures done, an estimate is printed out and explained to customers so that no surprise costs come at checkout. I live in a city with numerous vet clinics in a 3 mile radius, however I prefer to drive 20 miles to Crescenta Valley Vet. I'd follow Dr. Franco anywhere; it is a bonus that the hospital is nice establishment!

We have been with Dr. Black and CVVH for nearly 13 years. He and his staff have gone above and beyond and have treated our pets like their own. Our calls on weekends are always returned quickly by one of the doctors when we leave a message. One cannot get better service than at this office. We will always bring our pets here for the quality care they provide.

We drive 35 miles to take our kids to CVVH! Why? Because of the care and compassion of the whole staff. The state of the art facility. The expert quality of the service no matter if it's a simple routine visit or or a more complicated serious matter which we have been through. We know that Dr. Tom Black will treat our kids as if they were his own, giving us the needed information to make educated decisions. A+ team effort in all aspects of your pets care. Highly recommend without hesitation.

They did an amazing job! My dog Rikku usually hates the vet. If u ask her old vets they were bitten many times. They were patient and nice. They didn't complain or even mention almost being bitten. U can tell they love and care for their patients

Dr. Black and the entire staff at CVVH are truly the best! They have cared for all our pets for roughly 12+ years. This even includes our goose! We have always received the best and kindest attention whether it involved a late night phone call to Dr. Black and an offer to come treat our puppy at home with an injection for a bee sting.Last week, Dr. Black came in to see our 1 year old on his day off. We are so appreciative and know that we would not get this level of care from another vet.

We first took our beloved dog Violet to Dr. Black four years ago when she was in terrible, terrible shape with extreme kidney failure. Through his commitment and expertise we were able to have four more years with her; her recovery was pretty much miraculous. Over those years Dr. and Mrs. Black and the rest of the staff treated Violet like their own and kept her happy and active. When, sadly, we had to make the decision to let our dog go, we brought her here, and it was clear how much they too felt her loss. We're grateful for their care.

They are by far the kindest and most well intentioned vet hospital I have been to. As someone who has worked for vets and has a lot of animals, I have been to a lot of places. CVVH blows everyone else out of the water. I have been going to them for over 10 years and have had a consistent level of such wonderful care and compassion. I cannot say enough about Dr. Youn and the entire staff. <3

I had a very weird experience there...I know there' are covid problems around but this place is really paranoid. All paper work was done outside (in the wind and cold)...no one is allowed inside. The examination of your pet is done without you being present!!! They will not let you accompany your animal inside the building...the doctor then relays the info to you via someone else...you never see the doctor!!!! I did complain...I said we all have had our vaccination, we can all stand 6-feet apart...and we can all wear our masks (IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO CATCH IT WITH THAT PROTOCOL). Apparently, the doctor doesn't even accept common sense and logic. I've been to many medical facilities during the past year, and this one was the worst in the paranoid department!

I am so happy we found Dr. Yun. My pug Maggie was suffering from a horrible skin infection and was losing her hair and scratching her face. She had been wearing a cone for a few weeks. I called a few vets and no one could get us in. I called Dr. Yun's office and they scheduled me an appointment the same day at no additional emergency cost. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by Tiffany. She is the sweetest person I have ever met working at any veterinary clinic. She has two pugs of her own so she knew my concern. We were taken back right away. Wow, no wait after filling out forms! Amazing. She put us in a room and took Maggie's temperature. She offered us water while we waited for the doctor which was maybe 2 minutes.Dr. Yun explained well what needed to be done. He tested her for mites and thankfully it was negative. He prescribed a special shampoo, face wipes, antibiotics and ointment for her. The total cost was a lot less than other vets that we have been to. Even the ones who claim they are a low cost clinic and we had to wait up to 5 hours at times. One week later we came back for a post op visit. Maggie is almost all cleared up and with no cone. Tiffany and Dr. Yun were both happy to see her doing better and that was very comforting. Thank you so much for the amazing service. I will bring my older pug soon.

Everyone there is nice and very helpful. Squeezed us in without an appointment. We were from out of town and our dog got into a scuffle with in-laws dog and her ear got pretty shredded. Dr. had us stitched up and out the door in just a couple of hours, and we just showed up at their door, and it was new year's Eve day...

They saved our cat! Dr. Yuon and his staff took exceptional care of our 11 year old cat, Jasmine! It was worth every penny to keep our feline family member with us. Our deep, and sincere thanks and appreciation to Diane, Sonia, Mark, Sylvia & Dr. Youn Everyone was courteous, professional, caring and helpful! Would highly recommend!

Dr. Black and team have taken excellent care of my entire brood ( puppy dogs and kitty cats) their entire lives. Most of my pets have been rescues, with unknown medical histories. Unfortunately some have had serious conditions (stroke, pulmonary hypertension, diabetes, epilepsy, heart disease). The good news is that they have had a veterinarian who is not only extremely competent, but also kind and compassionate, often going the extra mile to care for them. On more than one occasion, he and Nancy (his wife and hospital administrator) have taken one of my critically ill babies home with them, rather than leave them overnight in the hospital. Dr. Black is constantly doing research and attending seminars to stay current on the best way to treat animals. For those of us who love our animals and worry about them, we need to be cared for also, especially when they are very sick or nearing the end of their lives. The entire staff at CVVH has provided me with much comfort and understanding during some difficult times. I highly recommend Dr. Black, Dr. Franco and the entire staff to care for your pets.

Our family's cats have been Crescenta Valley Veterinary Hospital clients for over 10 years, and we have been very happy with their care. Together, we've gone through every part of the feline life cycle (except birth, since all our kitties are neutered). The routine care has been exemplary--very thorough exams, excellent follow up, and a willingness to try new things for, e.g., behavioral problems. The latter has included urine-marking, which any cat owner knows can be very intractable; but Dr. Black's group produced great success for us.Perhaps the incident for which we, as a family, are most grateful to CVVH was one in which we weren't even successful--it was CVVH's tremendous effort and heartfelt compassion that stand out in our minds. We had recently adopted 2 adorable Maine Coon kittens. Unfortunately, they developed Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a retroviral disease of unknown origin that is very hard to diagnose and, to date, impossible to cure, although there have been a couple cases where it went into remission. The Emergency Room vet where we first took them was absolutely heartless, from the moment we walked in (the clerk at the desk told us, using these words, that she'd see if the vet wanted to treat our kitten, since they usually died) to the vet herself (who just told us straight out that we ought to put the kitten to sleep right now--at a moment when we thought he had a bad cold, and they could not be sure of the diagnosis). While it is true that the kittens eventually succumbed, in the meanwhile, Dr. Black was very supportive as we investigated worldwide for possible FIP treatments, and found a veterinary trial ongoing in Taiwan. We obtained the trial protocol from the Taiwanese research team, and we all worked together to obtain the experimental medicines which required the involvement of a licensed medical research university, an AIDS pharmacy and a specialist compound pharmacy. Dr. Black also did his own research and brought in additional specialists. Our little guys were at Dr. Black's office every day and he and his whole staff treated them, and us, with endless courtesy and compassion. The little guys responded well at first, and we had some hope for recovery. But when the little guys finally took a turn for the worst and it came time for the final hard decision, Dr. Black even came in on a Sunday so that they (and we) would not have to suffer any longer. The whole staff mourned their loss with us and could not have been more compassionate. They even checked to make sure we would not be upset if they kept the little guys' photos on the loop of patient pics shown in their waiting room! Nonetheless, they also provided all the necessary documentation to our pet insurance and to the breeder so we would be compensated appropriately. We're fortunate that this was an anomalous incident, but it did demonstrate the extent to which the CVVH team was willing to help us. They really went to the mat for us, helping us understand the latest research, tracking down the experimental drugs, and making our little guys as comfortable as possible. They never gave us false hope but they didn't give up either, and for that we are forever grateful.CVVH has been just as great with the little, normal things with our other kitties. And we know that if something awful comes up again, they'll be in our corner doing all they can.

This is the worst veterinary clinic I have ever been to. I took my cat there to have his teeth cleaned and the doctor told me that he needed to have between 1-3 teeth pulled out. After the procedure, he informed me that he pulled all 3 in question. Not only was this unnecessary, but it caused facial paralysis in my cat, to where he has lost the ability to blink and his eyes continuously roll back into his head. Their carelessness caused nerve damage to where he now relies on eye drops that must be administered multiple times a day, and it breaks my heart to watch him try to blink, only to roll his eyes back into his head…what a scary sight…and so far, a month and a half later, it looks like it won’t go away…After the cleaning, when I took him into this office to address the described symptoms, they gave me no answers and shrugged off any possibility of their error, only to make me spend hundreds more that day on unnecessary blood tests. When I took him to an entirely different vet, they were able to clearly recognize that he has suffered nerve damage from his dental procedure, specifically from the extractions that were unnecessary in the first place. On top of all of these issues, the staff was completely unprofessional and it was clear that none of them wanted to be there…I even heard an employee mutter in the back that he wanted to kill himself and two ladies at the front desk spoke of how they did not want to be there at all…right in front of me. Please save yourself the trouble, the heartbreak, and the money, and avoid this veterinary clinic. It is truly dreary from the moment you walk in.
