The staff is super friendly, the prices for cat spay and neuter are very affordable. They explain possible costs and the actual costs before they take your pet and do the surgery, they’re very thorough with at home directions. I’ve recommended a lot of people here! :)

Very kind and caring staff. We have our puppy on their puppy plan. Six months old, she was spayed yesterday. All went well, and now we have a puppy with a cone. They are in a new office on Tully. So many good things about this office and staff.

Currently here at 5:06 pm. Appointment was at 3:45. No one has even come to check on us. Time to find a new vet.Update: went to sylvan vet and was quoted half the price for the same service. The most telling sign this was the right switch is my dog was not shaking in fear at this vet like every time previously at valley vet.

I have been going to this vet for years, however I learned long ago for long-term care to go to another vet. They're okay for vaccinations and spay and neuter procedures, but they do add on extra prices for other things and their policies make it difficult to order prescriptions from cheaper places such as Costco. Because they always have different vets, it can be difficult for instructions to be passed on, which may be why extra costs get added on that the veterinarian didn't discuss/require. They have twice charged my elderly mother for services that weren't required, but she thought she had to do them. The people who work the front office are legitimately nice people who care about the animals. I don't like feeling as though I have to look through the bill with a fine tooth comb, however, and I don't appreciate that I can't send my mother there alone.

I'm very displeased about my dog's full exam. The Vet checked a few areas of both my dogs and onlybecause I mentioned the areas. Whatever happened to the full exam we pay for? I asked for a full exam and didn't receive it.A full exam includes: veterinarian will examine your pet from head to toe, looking for early signs of health problems. This will include an oral exam, listening to the heart and lungs with a stethoscope, examining the eyes with an ophthalmoscope, looking in the ears with an otoscope, body condition scoring (a way to monitor weight), feeling lymph nodes and organs within the abdomen, performing a rectal exam, checking reflexes, watching how your pet moves, assessing them for pain, and much more. What I did receive is an estimate with unnecessary services for my dogs ear irritation. It was around $600. There medications were double the cost, even triple A cream for my dogs eye was $40. Checked chewy and it was $12.99. An ear medication was $80 from them and $47 from Chewy. There prices have doubled and some triple because they moved to a new facility. Then they tried to upsell everything under the sun. Passion for animals??? Not!!!

I came in for an affordable puppy plan and the service and care for my new pup has been amazing here! Dr. Wallace, Dr. Gill, and the entire staff do the most that they can to make the visit to the vet pleasant for Buddy! They answer all of my questions and concerns as a new dog mom! It is walk-in only so make sure you come with plenty of time, but I only really had to wait maybe an hour at the most on a busy day. Thank you Valley Vet for being attentive of our pets!

This vet is very reasonable for getting you in. 35.00. However, the rest of the bill is padded. If you're not careful you will be charged a lot for everything. Took my dog in with simple ear scratching problem. Over 500 dollars later he still has the problem. Vet told me he must be allergic to meat and vegetables. That he should be eating their dog food. Ok? You be the judge. Its not the vet's first day on the job. Yet for the simplest issues they want to run expensive tests and procedures. Told me my female siamese cat that she was younger than her kitten when i took her in for checkup.. Her kitten was 3 years at the time. He told me she was 2-3 years. Facts.

Brought in a cat to have spade and even though there was a line it moved pretty quickly. The gals were courteous and compassionate to our needs. VERY reasonable prices compared to others in town.

The doctors here give a thorough explanation of what's happening with your pets and break down the prices for you into what's necessary asap and what can wait. You can do Care credit here too which is great. They have always taken excellent care of my babies. I would definitely recommend.

I don’t think this vet is better than any other. But watch out for hidden fees. I had two cats, a brother and sister who needed to be fixed. I called them and they said it was only 45 for the male and 65 for the female. When I got there on the day (which by then would’ve been too late to find another vet), the cost blew up to over 150 for each. There were like 9 extra coats a piece. The cone wasn’t even included.

8-3-22 I took my chihuahua she's 13yrs old in for the first time, I'd never been there before, we arrived at 1pm and waited for the Dr. Once the Doctor arrived at 2pm we where checked in for the issue my chihuahua had which was her back leg, Dr. Erickson conversed everything in detail with me and allowed me to ask questions of anything I had and he answered them he is the most polite generous knowledgeable physician for pets and very heartful it was a blessing to meet him I'm so happy I made a decision to come in to this vet Hospital, at the same time his Vet assistant for pets name Kourtney is absolutely helpful very polite, Thank you very much for everything God bless all of you

Beware this place steals your money!! Do not go here because you will get scammed!!!! They slaughtered my cats balls! Took him in for a nurture and his balls are completely tore up!!!!! Flesh hanging out and everything then they blame me when I literally didn’t even get him home yet! They double charged to keep him over night and failed to tell me what they did to him!!!! I’ve never seen anything like this!!!! Now he is high risk of infection and might even die because they messed up!!!!! Don’t chance this place! They don’t care about your pet!

It's very difficult to get them to give the appropriate prescription for my animals for parasites. I need a paper prescription for Nexgard Combo for my cat and Simparica Trio for my dog. They refuse to answer Chewy's calls or emails, so I have to get a paper prescription from them because they say they won't do it any other way and that online pharmacies like Chewy, Petco & Petsmart are bad. The medications this vet offers are not as good though, and they offer them at a higher price here. I would rather just go online and get what I need. They do every last thing they can to prevent me from getting the medications elsewhere. I also needed Fluoxetine transdermal, and they didn't even know what it was until I emailed them with a screenshot and a link to the product page on the website.

They wrote a prescription for an item that did not exist (gurnam gill did). They wrote 3.75 mg tablet, when there's no such as this and all I could find were capsules, not tablets online. Btw, if you get your medications from there, they'll upcharge you 20% extra and it's much cheaper online (look for yourself). Shady veterinary hospital. I won't be bringing my dog here again.

The Doctor and Technicians are wonderful. You can see and feel their compassion for your fur baby and the owner. They took special care of my babies and I am so appreciative.

Lowering my score from a previous review. Our dog died because they said that the only place we could get imaging done for our dog was in Sacramento and very expensive and assured us that she was "probably fine." We come to find out that an emergency vet on Standiford can do xrays and MRIs. How did we find this out? It's how our dog was diagnosed with multiple organ failure and that it was too late for treatment. We went in with our sweet baby and came out having paid for her ashes. They also failed to inform us that our other dog has an issue with her genitals. We went to a new vet recently and she was diagnosed with a disorder. The solution is simple, but our poor girl has been itchy this whole time because we were told that she's fine 7 years ago. I can't forgive things like this. The only reason it's two stars is because the vet was very kind when we had to put our cat to sleep a few years ago. The kicker is it wasn't even the normal vet! So maybe I'm being generous

I would suggest not going to Valley Veterinary Hospital. @ 1009 McHenry Ave ste g, Modesto, CA 95350. Firstly i scheduled the appointment On a Monday so I’d be home to care for her but they changed it to the Friday prior. That wasn’t a big deal I brought my puppy in (8 months old) for the spay around 9:30 am. They took her in and I filled out paper work (pretty sure the paper work asked my permission, if needed, do we have permission for blood work? etc etc) I said no. Around 2:30pm they called me I was at work. They then called my boyfriend and gave the impression my puppy was very weak and sick and would not do the spay. They said her gums were very pale as well. My partner described the whole phone call in detail. He said they were describing my perfectly healthy pup as if she was dying . They proceeded to guilt trip him until he caved and agreed to do the testing. He felt as if he could not say no to these tests which I had declined prior considering I knew my dog was healthy (we take her to her usual vet regularly and I spend a lot of time with her so I know she’s healthy). I do not appreciate or approve of someone guilt tripping my partner or me in order to make quick cash. It’s deceitful. He then picked up my puppy and she looked terrified. I got home and she is perfectly fine. Her gums were of course pink as they could be for a healthy pup. I have recorded videos the same day to prove how healthy she is :) I called and asked why they said she was so sick? They said she was very unhealthy and they would not do the spay on an unhealthy dog. She was too skinny. They did not really answer my question just repeated they don’t do spays on unhealthy dogs. When you look up her adult weight it’s 45-70 lbs she is 42.6lbs. They then said they’d call me with the lab results later in the day. 4 o’clock comes around nothing. I called twice and they did not answer. I had to call again today (5/2/22) they said they must’ve “forgot” to call me. I picked up the lab results and she was perfectly healthy nothing to be concerned about whatsoever. They made me very upset and very worried about my dog, my family member just so they can get an extra buck. Oh

I have taken my dogs here previously to their vaccines clinics as it is the lowest cost in the area. However I have been trying to get access to their records a for a week now for a pet insurance claim and keep getting pushed around. I called last week and was told that the Dr needed to verify records and he wouldn’t be in until Tuesday but that they’d call me when they were ready. Didn’t hear from them on Tuesday and since they’ve “forgotten” to call me for pickup before I called them on Wednesday to see if they were ready. I was told that the Dr hadn’t looked at them but that they’d be put on his desk for him to view first thing in the morning. I call again on Thursday to see if they’re ready and was told that the Dr wasn’t in that day and that there were no records for him to verify on his desk. I told the lady on the phone what had been told to me the day prior and that I need the records for my dogs surgery. She told me that I could pick up the vaccine records but exam notes have to be signed off by the doctor. She told me that she was going to figure out who I spoke to the day prior and call me back. I waited an hour and some change for a call back and didn’t get one so I drove all the way down to the clinic to talk to them in person. I was again denied anything aside from vaccine records. At this point I was confused because they don’t go to this vet for exams so I’m not sure what other notes they could possibly have. Looking through the patient records I was given it looks like the only time my dog was there for anything other than a vaccine was for a burger 4 years ago. So they can’t give me access to any records because of that. I pulled all of my pets vaccine records and asked to have the rest forwarded to their primary vet, again was told need Dr approval for that as well. I am going to check with their primary vet in the morning about the records and if they aren’t in I’ll have to call again. Honestly a super frustrating experience and the lack of customer service and communication between employees really shines through. I have spent so long trying to get this taken care of so my dog can have a surgery and i would hope that a vets office would understand the importance of that and at least attempt to make sure they were taken care of but that clearly isn’t the case. I won’t be coming back again despite the low costs, it isn’t worth the run around to try to get my pets taken care of. I’d also like to note that I work at a pet store in the area and typically send guests to their clinic for low costs but after this experience I may reference them somewhere else.

Horrible. Dr Gil has no understanding of FIP. He claims FCoV and FIP are the same. They are not. He told me to speak to UC DAVIS about FIP treatment when labs gave no indication of FiP, only a positive FCoV. He refused to try a different antibiotic on a 2 month old kitten with pneumonia who was out of antibiotics and still having symptoms, telling me the antibiotic he prescribed should have helped. It didn't so we are just supposed to go untreated now. Over the last 8 months I have spent thousands on 4 different cats. 2 died (1 at only 4 months old) and apparently I'm supposed to let another die as well. Over those same 8 months I have left multiple messages with no response, and multiple requests for copies of the labs I've paid for. Staff says Dr called. He didn't. Staff says they sent copies. They didn't. I could understand the occasional glitch but not 90% of the time. When I spoke to him about it, he put the blame on my cell phone and email service providers. Im pretty sure if Verizon and Gmail weren't working for 8 months it would have made the news. Lying and shifting blame tells me the problem isn't going to be solved. I would have much more respect for a simple 'I'm sorry. We'll try to do better.' Instead both Dr Gil and his staff argued and lied to me. Oh, but I'm supposed to come back next week to spend hundreds more on repeating blood work that still won't show any indication of FIP. They advertise as a low cost clinic but the gross imcompetency will cost you more in the end, both financially and in the loss of your pet's lives. There is a male vet tech who works there. He is the one shining star. I only saw him handle animals with gentle care and owners with integrity. Hopefully a better clinic will snatch him up.

I'm really pleased with this place. They do walk ins, so get there early. I waited about 40 minutes before it was my turn - for me, no big deal. If you're pinched for time, you may want to go to a place that takes appointments but those aren't always guaranteed. The staff was nice, all of them. The Doc may recommend further testing, but they give you the option to accept or deny without judgementAffordable, kind, compassionate. I recommend them.

Information needs to be updated on this site about their examination hours. I stood in line on a Saturday morning, only to be told they were no longer examining animals. A week before, I took in another cat, which was examined and they did blood work, among other things. I was told the results for blood work would be 7-10 days (Say what?) The vet called 2 days later and left a msg about the results and said to call him with any questions. I did call, and I never got a call back. While I appreciate being able to walk in with an urgent matter, the wait times are very long. But then to walk in and be told no examination an hour before their stated closing time, perhaps they should schedule appointments on certain days. I paid a LOT of money to this clinic, and my time is worth something also. Not to mention my sick cat waiting in a crate, only to be told he cannot be seen. And please don't tell me to call if you have no intention of returning my call. Very disorganized.
