I called them in a panic at 11 pm on a Friday night because my dog had gotten bit and I couldn't stop the bleeding. The lady on the phone was very calming and told me to come in right away. Once I got there they were very calm cool and collected as I'm sure they could sense my panic as my dog is like my child. They were very attentive and helpful with explaining everything they were doing. They were able to get him in immediately and they gave him three staples and never had any issues after that. I brought him back to get his staples removed 12 days later and it was the most quick and painless procedure and he was back in my arms in less than 5 min. Theodore my little mini pin and I truly appreciate the staff at Standiford veterinary hospital for everything they did that night for us.

Dr. Cardona was so great and I could not ask for a better doctor. She took her time and educated me about my dogs itchy skin. She did not rush and she made my dog feel very comfortable. Standiford veterinary center is very clean and the staff are great. I will not take my dog anywhere else now that I have Dr. Cardona as our doctor. I recommend this place too everyone who is looking for great care.

I was very happy with my experience at Standiford Veterinary Center. They saw my little dog as an Urgent Care patient. The staff is exceptionally kind and caring. I saw one of the techs in the waiting room really helping a woman who was having trouble with her cat. She went above and beyond to help her with her problem. Great service! I recommend them. If I lived in Modesto, this would be the Vet care that I would choose.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!I brought my dog down on Dec 23rd at 1AM because she wasn’t going to the bathroom, she was throwing up, and she wasn’t eating or taking any fluids. They ended up finding 15 to 16 bladder stones and they did surgery the next morning. Everyone there is so kind, and caring. They took great care of my girl and made sure I was comfortable in this scary situation!

I’ve been to this clinic twice: once, when my cat Biggie was experiencing heart failure, and then again just today when my cat Little One was experiencing renal failure. Unfortunately, both of my babies had to cross the rainbow bridge to end their suffering, but when I tell you of the compassion and empathy I experienced at the hands of the doctors and technicians there…I am truly thankful. They treated my babies like their own, gave me room to grieve and grieved with me, and made their passings as easy as possible. I just want to thank the staff there for caring so much and taking care of all of us in our darkest hour. You are angels for the job you do.

Took my dog here for an emergency visit twice in the same day and would NOT recommend.Staff gets their egos hurt when you question the quotes they give or request more explanation. Poor bedside mannerisms by multiple staff members...with numerous clients. Staff members are VERY rushed and short with patients... if you take a good look around it is very apparent it is a complete mill. Bad attitudes with two vet techs I had direct interactions with, they were downright derogatory and condescending; spoke to me like I was an idiot when I asked for further explanation. Other vet techs and the clergy staff were lovely and truly that was a saving grace. The vet I had gaslight me when I questioned his extremely rushed practice. He was impatient for me asking him to explain things. He discharged me the first time when we were in agreement on what seemed necessary and what could wait for follow up (my dogs symptoms were vague at first, but concerning)- then accused me of leaving "AMA" when I came back (unfortunately I had to as the symptoms got worse), which was completely out of line and simply inaccurate. I am appalled by his accusations. I am second hand embarrassed for their Leadership. Again, I was here twice in one day and the pattern was the same.As a medical professional who works in critical care... take your beloved pet elsewhere, especially for emergency visits. You deserve to be treated with respect, patience and feel confident your pet is in the best hands with every staff member. I am very, VERY grateful my dog got the necessary treatment and is stable.I feel bad for those who cannot advocate for their pet. So disappointing- it made an extremely stressful day so much worse. I will never go back, and hope that following up with their Leadership will improve experiences for others in the future.***to add, after reading every single review- another client had what sounds like a very similar experience with the same Veterinarian that I did. Her review was two months ago. I’m going to follow her statement-keeping things respectful, his first name begins with one of the last letters of the alphabet. He is a bully with an ego who has a well documented pattern of overall poor conduct.

The staff is great, and their bedside manner is excellent. They really do care for your pet.I waited for 7 hours before my animal was seen by a staff member. She merely wasn't feeling well when we arrived, and we had to wait for several trauma cases that arrived, as well as a few that snuck in, that weren't what I would consider an emergency. They should probably have multiple vets, one of which could do the lesser cases when they arrive. It would help out a lot.

If I can give this place a 1,000 star review I would. All their staff from reception to the doctors are very caring. The doctor was very clear and helpful in finding the best treatment plan for my puppy’s broken leg. Drove 2 hours to come to this center and was not disappointed one bit. Dr. Magnussen is the best!!!

I know I can always trust the doctors and staff at Standiford to do their very best to help my own furbabies and my fosters. Highly-recommend. Pricing may be higher than others, but it is worth it for guaranteed professionalism and the highest quality of care.

SVC has always been caring, concerned and courteous. Recently we had to euthanize our beautiful 17 year old cat. It was a heartbreaking time, but the staff and Vets at SVC helped us through it. They also took care of the cremation , which was a great help. I would recommend SVC to anyone seeking veterinary care.

My husband woke me at 4am because he found my cat near death on the couch; suffering from an insulin overdose. I thought she was gone but was breathing faintly. I rushed her to the Standiford Vet Hospital and miraculously they saved my baby! My current vet had not explained that we needed to check her glucose levels every so often so I had been unintentionally poisoning my cat when I thought I was treating her to plan. The doctors and staff at Standiford Vet are extremely professional, timely, and communicative. They answered all of my questions and got my kitty buddy back to me in a matter of days. They pretty much brought her back from the dead! I highly recommend this hospital for the needs of your furry friends.

A+ place. Yes we had a wait but it was ok. They were professional and caring in our situation. Unfortunately I didn’t get to come home with my boy but they took care of him and us. They were extremely awesome and I’m so thankful in the end for all they did for my boy. It was an emergency and I couldn’t have asked for better care and or treatment. I totally recommend this 24 hour emergency care hospital!! Very compassionate staff.

Took my puppy in numerous of times to be seen for seizures and every time got given the same results. They said she was responsive and test results showed normal. Prescribed her 4 different medication on the 4 different emergency visits. They couldn’t get it right, after spending over 2k to help save our puppy, she passed away last night, simply because they miss diagnosed her and really didn’t take the time to get it right.

We had to urgently take our 14 year old dog in for her breathing at 4:00am…coming from Lodi. And she had to stay overnight. The staff was great! . Dr Hundal helped us and was very kind and he went through the whole situation, what’s test, oxygen chamber etc. The day doctor Dr. Zac (?) called with a follow up and was excellent…. Gave me the update on how she was doing & next steps. The following morning we got a call from Dr Hundal who gave us the run down … his recommendations, blood test results etc.He answered all my questions and my mind was at ease. My dog is doing well.We had a great experience and I would recommend bringing your family member here!

I just wanted thank the doctor and nurses and staff so much for saving my chihuahua Champ's lifelast weekend. He was in critical condition and needed oxygen. If it wasn't for the doctor and staff I would have lost him. I give them five stars and I will definitely recommend them if anyone ever needs emergency care for their animals. Thank you again so much for saving my chihuahua.

My 9 year old dog passed away unexpectedly. I took him in around 10PM to see about his aftercare. Obviously distraught and grieving, the staff was very sympathetic, patient, and caring towards me and my family. They gave me hugs, words of encouragement, and held it together when I couldn’t. I couldn’t have asked for a better team during that time that I was so hurt and confused. They treated me like they have known me for years and really cared. They gave me a card along with Baloos paw prints, nose prints, and a lock of his hair. I know he was in good hands after leaving mine. I appreciate everything they did for us last night. Thank you to the team again.

I wish I could give zero stars. My dog has been struggling for 48 hours. They ask that you leave a message and then it takes several hours for them to get back to you, and then they don't call you back on the number you leave. I had to call twice today to get a call back. So I've had no sleep and high stress and the woman who finally calls me states that I am yelling at her...and hangs up on me. Now my dog is still struggling and I have to find some other vet to help me. DON"T USE THIS OFFICE the service is HORRIBLE!!!!!

3 hour wait for the walking wounded. We had a cat throwing up for a day solid. $1700 for hospitalization overnight but they couldn't do a sonogram because no one was there to do it. Time to shell out more money somewhere else. Happy for the stabilization unhappy they couldn't complete the job.

I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction and concern regarding an incident that occurred on January 6th involving our six-week-old Yorkie puppy. We were compelled to seek emergency veterinary care due to symptoms indicative of hypoglycemia, a condition we have unfortunately encountered before with our puppies.Upon finding our regular veterinarian at Village Oak unavailable due to their lunch break, we reluctantly chose to visit Stanford Veterinary Clinic, despite being aware of its less-than-favorable reviews. After an initial wait of approximately an hour, a technician informed us that the attending veterinarian suggested a Parvo test. We found this recommendation to be quite unnecessary, considering the puppy's age, its confined upbringing in our home, and our diligent efforts to prevent exposure to external environments known for such risks. The professional conduct of the veterinarian was, to put it mildly, deeply disappointing. His demeanor was patronizing, and his approach to our concerns was dismissive. When questioned about the necessary tests, he proposed a battery of expensive procedures, including CAT scans and X-rays, amounting to an estimate of around $7,000. This seemed exorbitant, especially given the commonality of hypoglycemia in Yorkshire Terriers. We considered the option of monitoring the puppy at home, to which the veterinarian responded with a rather inappropriate and unprofessional analogy, comparing our situation to "blindly trying to land a plane on a foggy mountainside." Such a remark was neither helpful nor relevant to our situation. Let me just say that if after that comment, he turned to me and asked if I was a pilot I guarantee you this incident would've made the paper.. I would've been in cuffs, and he would be on a stretcher.Furthermore, after a lengthy and costly wait, we discovered that no significant treatment had been administered to our puppy during this time. This lack of communication and apparent inaction was unacceptable, especially considering the urgency of our visit and the substantial fee charged. My fiancé, who holds a significant position in the medical field, felt compelled to address these issues directly with the veterinarian, whose only excuse for his behavior was his work schedule. This is no justification for poor service and unprofessional conduct.I must stress that I do not recommend this veterinary clinic. Their monopoly as the only emergency service in the area does not excuse substandard care. For those who might find themselves with no alternative but to visit this clinic, I strongly advise against consulting with the veterinarian in question. Out of respect for privacy and professionalism, I will refrain from naming the individual directly but will note that his name begins with one of the last three letters of the alphabet. This experience has left us deeply troubled and disappointed, and we hope that by sharing our story, others might be spared a similar ordeal.

TLDR: If you want your pet to suffer alone and scared come here, read further see the how cold the people who work here are.I genuinely don't know what to say, I've never met people so entirely evil. I first witnessed a customer bring in a stray kitten, and was told after they looked at the kitten they had a lung infection that they could treat, after the customer said she can't pay for it the option given to her was legit, "Bring the kitten back to the road you found it on". Go here if you want these people working on your pet. For our case, after waiting 7 hours, and multiple mess ups, they finally "looked" at our cat, the only thing they've talked about up to this point was money. It became very clear our incredibly ill cat was unlikely to make it in this hospital. I have zero confidence they would've treated our dying cat anytime before they would've died. Maybe if they spent less time talking about money our cat would be able to live. Our best option is to wait until Monday and schedule and appointment if our cat lives that long. Otherwise our only option is to try and give our pet a comfortable death. If you want your pet to die surrounded by monsters, alone and scared, go here. I promise you this place is much worse than nothing. Do not go here under any circumstances.

This is the best place I have ever been to. I drive an hour away just for my babies to be seen by the best. They love every animal like they are their own pets.

We just lost our dog last week! It was very hard but the staff, nurses, and doctors were great! They made us feel comfortable and helped a lot in this rough time. I can’t thank them enough and would highly recommend this facility. We appreciate all your help with Kali :(Also they sent her paw print and a card which was signed by everyone very touching. Thank you!

Worst experience to have. They need more doctors because they only had one! I had to take two of my dogs to the vet. They both had blood in their diarrhea, vomiting, and lethargy. I had to wait outside the vet in my car for 12 hours!! I would see other dogs that came in after us for an emergency but would all get attended first. After the 12 hours they finally checked in my dogs. After they did the procedure to check if they had parvo they told me that I had to wait 20-30 mins for the results. After an hour they told me that their results came out to be negative. Then they told me I had to even more and don’t know when they will be attended to see what they specifically have going on with them and wait until the next doctor comes in. At that point I couldn't wait any longer my dogs and I did not eat the whole time we were there and they got worse. (after telling them that they got worse they did not do anything about it) I decided to finally leave and just take care of them myself. It was emotionally draining for me because I was unsure if they’d live if I took care of them. But I had no other choice. The next day one of my dogs got worse because of the whole situation that happened the day before. She was not able to move her whole body only her head. I took her to the emergency vet again and they said there is a 4 hour wait due to many older dogs that were coming in sick and again attended before mine! At that point I was over it. I decided to continue to take care of my dog and be consistent because if I waited 4 hours for them to attend her she would be dead at that point. After being consistent and taking care of them myself they are all better after 6 days.

My complaint is with the office staff. I have been on the phone for over 30 minutes, trying to get thru to make an appointment.I have no complaints with the veterinary staff. They give excellent care. You guys need a front office efficiency evaluation..

The worst vet I have been to! Two of my dogs have passed under their care and they just keep billing and billing. I have spent over 6K there in the last year and received nothing but horrible treatment.I will be suing them for various issues.

took my cat in with a bad flesh wound and they did take care of him but all they would talk about was the money. they were very focused on how much i owe them instead of telling me how my cat is doing. the workers are awful but they kept my cat alive.

RE: Dr. Cardona. Never had a cat. Had a lot of questions but the Doc got impatient and walked out. She seemed more concerned w/selling vaccines and products than answering my questions. Her Tech was much more patient and kind and answered all my questions w/o the sarcasm.

Wouldn’t recommend this place for an emergency, I was there from 3 to 7 and they wouldn’t let me leave to go to another vet. nor give me updates about my dog, she could have bleed out to death. When they gave me back my dog she was dehydrated and woozy.

Awful experience. Brought my cat in because I thought he had something stuck in his airway which turned out to not be the case. The vet was very rude and condescending making it seem that I had brought in my pet for no reason. He assured me my cat was fine and that nothing was wrong. Instead of asking me more questions to try to see what other symptoms he had or try to find an explanation for his gagging, it seemed that they just wanted my money and to get me out of the door. My cats condition continued to get worse even though “nothing was wrong” and it turns out he has infectious pneumonia and got my other cat sick as well. I had to spent $1100 at another vet to get the actual care that my pets needed after I was charged $450 to tell me my cat was fine. I will never return.

Dr. Zach told us that our cat was perfectly fine. Since his speech seemed like he practiced it in the mirror 500 times, I didn’t trust it & decided to take my cat to another vet. My trusted vet told me our cat was in a ton of pain and proceeded to show me the X-rays. Long story short our cat doesn’t have very much time to live. So thank you to all the folks at SVC, keep up the good work!
