This is my favorite pet store ever! Evelyn greets me by name when I come in and knows just what I'm looking for. They even opened an entire shipment of boxes searching for my rabbit's fave hay topper! Their selection is perfect for my needs since I have 5 cats and a rabbit, plus they're right next to Safeway where I grocery shop! Couldn't ask for better placement. I highly recommend this store for anyone with a variety of pet needs.

We come here just for the amazing service Evelyn provides! 🐈‍⬛ She's the hardest worker and ambassador for this store and its critters! You can tell how much she loves animals by how the birds just love her, she makes us want to buy every one of them. Evelyn is a one in a million gem and we will come across town to shop here just because of her awesome service. If you need anything or have any questions, just ask for Evelyn!

I’d like to thank this store for being here for me always! I came in to get some cat food and ended up having the time of my life, they have such a variety of animals, birds, lizards, cats. Everything you could ever need if you own an animal! I’d like to especially thank the wonderful Ms Jenny, she answered all my questions with great ease and was of the upmost respect. Thank you for making this such an enjoyable experience! I will be sure to get all my furry friend’s food and toys at this store! Here’s a photo of them enjoying their food!

I went to Carters Pet Mart a couple of days ago. And my experience was very nice. The staff was very nice, sweet, and professional. Wen I couldn't find the dog item there was a staff member working there by the name of Tyrell he was very nice, sweet, professional, and helpful. He showed me where I could find the dog item that I was looking for was. Wen he found it for me he got out the dog item for me as they are locked on the shelves. Bc I wasn't very sure as to wat size for sure that it was I needed so he even opened the box of the dog item that I wanted and he let me see if it was the size that I wanted to get. And wen I had said that it was to small I wanted the next size up he had no problem with getting the dog item out for me. He then asked me if I needed anything else while I was there. I told him no thank u I really appreciate ur help. These are my 2 dogs saying thank u for everything that u do for us we greatly appreciate u Carters Pet Mart. My 2 dogs and I highly recommend Carter's Pet Mart to anyone that needs to get stuff for their pet(s). And it's located in the same parking lot as Safeway so u can do ur grocery shopping and get ur pet supplies all in the same place.

This is my favorite store for all things pets. The hospitality shown here is matched by no other store. I remember this cool guy I met, (Robert i believe) he was soooo helpful especially when it came to reptiles. I had a great conversation with him about some pets I wanted to pick up. Overall just a great experience.

I have a ball python that i purchased from here, she’s a very healthy snake and the workers were so knowledgeable about the animals and helpful with questions, they let me hold her before i got her and the worker handled her so well. i come here every week for her mice and always tell the workers it’s for beans, which was her name before i adopted her, and last time i went in i told them it was for her and all the worker told me to bring her back cause they miss her😭 i’m going in today and i’m bringing her with me, i’ve brought my emotional support dog and they loved him so much they even gave him a treat. so glad my family found this place <3

Let me talk to ya! Evelyn is the BEST employee I have ever met! YEAH! She helped me with finding the best treats and toys for my pet chihuahua! YEAH! She had the best attitude, she was friendly and gathered everything I needed with maximum efficiency! YEAH! Evelyn made me feel welcomed at the store. Thank you Evelyn! I will definitely be buying all my pet needs at this pet store! YEEEAAH!

I love coming to this store. It’s fully stocked and has specialty items for all your pet’s needs. Everyone is so helpful there. I have had especially good experiences with Jeremy. He is super kind and helpful and always goes over and above. I highly recommend stopping in for all of your furry or scaled friend’s needs.

I adore the staff at the Modesto location they have always gone above and beyond to make sure my pup is all taken care of from recommending food for my particular pup who only eats certain foods to Robert and the staff always offering to carry my items if a cart is not available or hold them up front. They are extremely knowledgeable on food and safety of pets not just dogs which is hard to find in most places so do yourself a favor and check them out you won’t regret it

I come here with my girlfriend to get cat food on the regular, whenever I pop in, I always take time to check out the birds and the fish tanks. They have cheap affordable prices, a wide selection of feed and supplies. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Recommend to any pet owners, or someone looking for a reptile or fish!

I came here to buy a shot for a friend's dog and ended up buying my dog some cloths. Well the cloths didn't fit and I wasn't given a receipt when I left. Well I called and talk to the girl that did the transaction and she printed off the receipt and told me it would be at the front counter when I came to return the stuff. I came in a couple days later and try to return the shirt. The manager up there wouldn't even look for the receipt was rude and flat out told me it would take too long to look it up on the computer. He was rude disrespectful and I will never go back there again. The females that work there were friendly and very helpful. But whatever guy help me today was rude and I will never shop there again and I'll make sure to let all my friends know to not go there as well

I've been a regular at Carter's since it opened its doors. It's the best pet store in the 209, they ACTUALLY care about their animals.There's a worker there now who ALWAYS goes out of her way to make my shopping experience better, and who I see give an extra care with the animals, is Evelyn. She's the absolute sweetest and tries to be as informative as possible!

I like this pet store the staff there make u feel welcome N are quick to help out with questions you may have, there is plenty of parking the cashier works at a fast pace, the floor staff was knowledgeable of what they had at there store I learned a thing or two about there pets, they have handicap parking easy access.

Carters is the go to pet store for everything you need. I have always loved their small animal section, there are so many reasonably priced items for my Chinchilla! Robert is always super nice and professional and I appreciate his kindness when I shop. Thank you!!

Robert was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He reccomended me to go here once I asked for help with picking out a bird and once I got there he and the store treated me and my pup very well! (It was also very clean) Was a 11/10 experience and I would go again ! 👍

I purchased a yellow bellied turtle here about 5 days ago. The store did not mention he was practically blind and had an eye infection. When I went in to check on the rest of their turtles, they all had eyes just like this one. He couldn't see and was really sick when I got him. He passed away today and I made sure he was as comfortable as he could be. I let the store know their turtles have bacterial eye infections and they didn't even say anything. Just pointed me to the turtle eye drops and walked away. I will never go here again and I hope that whoever is supposed to look out for these animals needs gets in trouble for letting this happen.
