Ive been going to here for over 20 years and can’t say enough good things about this location. The staff are friendly, very knowledgeable but most importantly want to help and talk pets. My daughter absolutely loves going and asks to go there more than the trampoline park. Really wholesome place ❤️

I had 10am dog grooming appointment at this location with Sara.Despite receiving a text confirmation just 55 minutes prior to my appointment, upon arriving at the store, I was informed that my appointment had been canceled without any prior notice. It was only then that I was informed of a water pipe issue as the reason for the closure. While I understand unforeseen circumstances can arise, the lack of communication regarding the cancellation is unacceptable.What aggravates me even more is the fact that I had adjusted my work schedule to make it to the appointment, only to be met with this inconvenience. The employees at the store admitted that Sara should have called to notify customers of the issue and to reschedule. This demonstrates a below-average level of professionalism and customer service on Sara's part.The most crucial aspect of any appointment is not just scheduling it but also holding it and notifying customers of any changes in a timely manner. The poor communication demonstrated by the business wasted not only my time but also left me feeling disappointed and frustrated.Furthermore, upon visiting the store, I encountered no sense of urgency or empathy from the employees regarding the inconvenience caused to customers. This lack of accountability and customer care only adds to my dissatisfaction with Petco's service.In conclusion, I expect better communication and professionalism from Petco and its employees. Customers deserve to be treated with respect and courtesy, especially when disruptions occur. I hope this issue will be addressed promptly to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

Usually at smaller pet stores I get the conversation that feels personal but the gentleman who helped me today was very nice and comented about what i was purchasing. I think if corporates hire more people we will see more of that extra effort to communicate all the time and wont have to deal with workers who are tired and have to multitask all day.

Actually, my family went to the PETCO store located at "25592 El Paseo, Mission Viejo, CA 92691" this afternoon.At that time, we looked around for fish to raise in my home.So we asked a lot of questions about fish to your staff Mr.Kaoni.At that time, the staff of Mr. Kaoni(Keoni?) was very kind and helpful to us. Even he didn't lose his kindness until the end.I think he is a professional in the fish field.My family was so satisfied with his answers.Thank you.

I was there to get some new fish. I wish I remembered the name of the guy who helped me because he was fantastic! Very knowledgeable about fish and helped me to get fish that would work with the ones already in the tank. He even told me if I was looking for a specific fish he could special order for me. He really went ubove and beyond.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR PET GROOMINGI regret not reading these reviews before taking my new rescue dog in for grooming. This was his second grooming appointment at Petco and I came to pick him up after an hour and was told that they hadn't even started on him because someone was at lunch.An hour later we got called to pick him up. When we arrived we were told it took two hours because our dog was scared of the drying and it had to be set to the lowest setting. The lack of transparency and honesty is extremely frustrating.We then get home and I found a scratch on his stomach and blood in his ears from over cleaning.Petco - train your employees, fix your scheduling system (a lot of reviews on scheduling issues on yelp) and just do better. It seems like corporate gave up on this location, its employees and the pets they serve in this community.

Ordering and inventory are off at this location. Then again, the 2 times I've been at this location, most of their stock seems to be in boxes and on pallets that are blocking the aisles to get around the store. I feel bad for the employees because their management seems to be lacking a bit.

Staff are super friendly and helpful. I had a bit of a crisis with a pup and everyone here was able to point me in the right direction. You can tell the staff really cares about what they do and go the extra mile for you.

Couldn't find what I wanted so I asked an employee. She didn't know what I was talking about but directed me to someone who did and he walked me right over to the item. I got some doggy treats from the bar where you serve yourself. I could swear the sign said 5.99/lb. Not till I was home did I notice that I was charged 9.99/lb. Ug. Frustrating.

I’ve been a loyal customer to Petco for over 12 years until tonight. My cat is very sensitive to scented litter, so I have to purchase unscented. Unscented litter can be costly, but I found out this Petco store offers scoop-your-own cat litter for a reasonable price. I became ecstatic and began refilling a container I had that I bought from a Target. Keep in mind, I’ve been doing the refilling at this location for a while now. No one has stopped me. In fact, the workers were happy I was reusing the container and producing less plastic waste. Although, tonight was different. Different people were working and I was greeted when I was nearly already over at the refill station. My container was filled practically halfway before the dude that worked there stops by and asks me how many pounds my container holds. I said it holds 35 pounds (this is the same container I’ve been using the past 2 times). He then proceeds to tell me that they only let you refill 16 or 30 pounds. No biggie. I offer to just fill it up to 30 pounds. He then says with total attitude, “Well you can only use the containers we offer”. Which are neatly tucked away under the refill station, y’know, where you can totally see them. It does not say that on the sign or near the refill station. He tells me that his manager is right behind him and he will gladly get her. I’m confused as to why I was allowed to do this multiple times, being praised for doing so, but now it’s not allowed? Thank you Petco. I will no longer be shopping here. I will gladly, with a smile on my face, shop locally for cat litter.

Helpful staff and a fair choice of products for pets. I did see empty shelf's and could not find products i normally buy at my local Petco. I was visiting in orange county. Again the staff appeared to be low energy but they were helpful and pleasant. Not a bad location.

The cashier was absolutely amazing in having my pickup orders ready in 30 minutes. She was friendly, helpful, and patient as I loaded even more items onto the counter to purchase. I absolutely loved this experience and will be coming back very soon! Thanks again!😊

Very cramped aisles, mostly filled with packed up inventory waiting to be shelved on dollys are carts. Not enough employees manning the check out counter, had to get the groomers to help out.

I felt bad for the workers, they seemed overwhelmed. Parrot water was days old and green and stock was all over the floor but staff was prompt and curtious. Store well stocked.

Just horrible!!! Went to go buy a Ginny Pig was told I can not look at them because the guy would have to go get a key I said yes that would take you to go get a key so that I could look at them then he said we don’t allow people to touch them or even look at them if you want to purchase them then you can see how they act when you get home I even told my husband I cannot believe this guy is saying this to us went to another one they definitely let me look at them and I ended up purchasing a cute guinea pig I will definitely not be going back to this one the clerk was very rude and acted very lazy you don’t want to do work then you shouldn’t work there

My, my. This poor store needs some TLC. The only reason I'm giving this store three stars is because their staff there is quite friendly and helpful.However, the unorganized appearance and the unclean restroom at the time of my visit put me off big time. Also, a fair portion of their shelves were empty and their choices were slim (I was looking at cat food/items specifically).
