I'm fostering a 50 lb Belgium malinois/German Shephard mix and brought her here today because it's too hard on my back in the bathtub and she's so furry. They have towels, shampoo, cold and warm water, and blow dryers. I didn't realize how much water I had splashed on the floor and asked them what I should do. They gave me an extra towel to wipe it up. I wiped up the fur that came off the dog. I think its a clean place and I think their prices are very reasonable. Very happy and will go back.

AVOID!! Would give ZERO stars if I could. I’m a dog groomer in the area for over 10 years and the owner of this place gives all of us actual caring groomers a horrible name. She was absolutely atrocious. She told me she doesn’t like to help anyone in the self serve area because EVERYONE COMPLAINS. I simply asked for WARM water for my senior dog. SO SORRRRRRY to be such a burden on you. Do yourself a favor and drive to Costa Mesa and there are self dog washes everywhere that provide great customer service, plus they don’t overcharge you to use a tub with cold water.. they actually provide shampoo, hot water, towels… and DONT CHARGE for you to leave a mess. It’s great. AVOID AVOID AVOID… if you truly love your animal.. don’t give this lady any of your money.

It's a good place to wash dogs, I have two Irish wolfhounds who are both over 180lbs so I understand most places won't be able to accommodate dogs that big. They have one large dog bathing station with a ramp and all of the tubs have locking doors. The gentleman at the front helped me navigate my 180lb 1 1/2 year old pup into the tub and he was very helpful. They offer a good price of $22 with soap. That price doesn't include conditioners.My only issue was with the female employees who were talking down to me when I used my dogs dirty towel to try and clean up all of the access water that has run off my dog onto the floor. All I was trying to do was help them and clean up the mess I had made. But I understand their point of view as they don't want to dirty the white towels. So if you go try and resist the urge to clean up after yourself. Other then that I would recommend this place to others.

I’ve been to my fair share of self dog washes, and this one left a lot to be desired. The water pressure is very low, so getting the soap off your dog takes a long time. The blow dryers are low pressure which, if your dog is easily spooked by the dryers, is great. But if you want any sort of efficiency, forget it. Not to mention, there is no separate area to dry your dog. You’re drying him/her in the same tub they’re washed in, so any time your pup decides to sit or lean against the tub, your time spent drying is set back a few steps.Besides those things, the kenneled dogs are in the same area, so the dryers are sending them into a panic, which then riles up the dogs in the tub...it’s pandemonium in there.Don’t get me wrong. I appreciate the option to wash my dog without dealing with the mess, so I understand the benefits of going here. That being said, there are better places to do it.

This review is for the nail grinding. It was my first time here and I opted to have them do the nail grinding before using the self wash station. The nail grinding is supposed to be less evasive then a trim which is why they charge $5 more. The lady was very rough with my dog and moving very fast. Next thing I know there is blood all over because she cut the quick. She made an excuse and shook her head when I said I wasn’t paying. Not only am I not paying, you will be paying me if there are any medical bills due to infection. I feel so bad for my dog and would never recommend this place. The staff doesn’t care , they are untrained and unprofessional and shouldn’t be anywhere near your pets.

STAY AWAY. Plenty of other self dog wash places that are better. First off any businesses that are for dogs is usually a happy and fun experience, the employees and owners love what they do and it shows immediately when you walk in the door with your pup.Walking into Mud Puppy it was already an off vibe, you immediately felt unwelcomed by the lady. The guy who greeted us was friendlier, but the lady who runs it not so much. Like wow she was so unprofessional and rude, she def gave off a vibe that she doesnt like dogs AT ALL. She was "grooming" a doodle there and she looked miserable and didnt want yo be there. I wish I would have read the 1star reviews, they are accurate. I take my dog to self washes once every 3 weeks, so wasnt my first rodeo.I understand watching customers and making sure they have everything they need. This place watches you like a hawk, it was so uncomfortable and we were trying to do it quickly, but it took forever cause theres no water pressure. The self wash includes shampoo, theres a shelf full of different ones. My dog doesnt need anything special, I opted for deshedding as it was not listed as one of the specialty ones that cost extra.We go to pay and the guy goes its $23, I said the sign says $20. He said the shampoo and I said its not listed as a specialty option. Thats when that lady charged up to the front and screamed at me when asked why it wasnt listed. She screams at the paying customer, "You're not arguing with me for $3". Well I wasn't arguing I was asking, also its not about the $3 its the principle, but you decided yo have poor customer service skills and get mad for no reason. This place is just trying to nickel and dime you on top of being super unprofessional. Your website also says a wash is $18 and I didnt mention that cause I understand that it might not have been updated and that's ok. Well you just lost another potential regular customer over $3.

Wash your pooch using a stand-up tub, get two towels, they supply the shampoo and a hair dryer. On paper this looks good. There's always a however, and here it is they have insufficient hot water for the pink periods on the weekends, and the water pressure is low. The staff is great they're very friendly and have a good system of separating animals. If you don't want to do all the work yourself you can have them do it. In either case the prices are a little high compared to others in the area.

What a great concept. Bring your dog here they have the tubs soap dryers and towels. You do not have to bend to wash the dog. The wash tubs are at a great height. I bring my 90+ lb. dog here. The best thing is that I get to brush and brush him and I get to leave all the fur behind and we leave nice and clean. He loves the blueberry facial soap. A special treat. Rosy is a great groomer if you want to have your dog groomed. A great do it yourself place.

My 2 dachshunds were so soft and fluffy. They smelled so good and everything was able to be done. We've taken our dogs different places and they wiggle when they get their nails cut so some places they couldn't do a couple of them. Here there was no problem

Went there for the first time to watch our lab mix. The facility was clean, the tub was clean. They provided the shampoo, towels, a short leash to hook up your pup so you don't have to get your leash wet, and water proof aprons so you don't get wet. The spray handle was easy to use, and you can even use warm water. It's $18 for a basic wash, which I think it's a bit expensive, but I'll go back again because it's convenient, I don't have to clean up, and the best of all, NO WAIT. I got there Saturday afternoon about 3pm, and there were multiple tubs available. We were in-and-out in 30 minutes.

Not the best experience. One of the groomers would not stop yelling at a dog, which made me extremely uncomfortable to even be there but unfortunately my pup was already wet at that point. The tub we used had no water pressure whatsoever, so it took a long time to get our furry dog wet enough. The blow dryer was so cold that I ended up just leaving. Got home and ended up giving my dog another shower at home since this place was a big fail. The address listed on maps takes you to an animal hospital at the plaza, their place is one the other side. Also, considering all the precautions we're all taking during COVID-19 times, this place is not taking it very serious. The person who welcomed us had no mask, no glove, nothing... shortly after we got there, a couple arrived with two dogs and they also had no masks and no care for social distancing and used the tub right next to us.

I have been going to Mud puppy for 3 years and I find their staff and facility to be clean and professional. My dog is always treated well and with care, that is important to me. When i leave him he comes home happy and well groomed. If I use the dog wash it is always clean. Hazel

Great concept and gets the job done, if you can use it. However this time when we visited we experienced extremely rude and unprofessional staff. Their website clearly says the cut off time for self service is 4 o'clock since they close at 5. However when we arrived at 4 the lady acted like we were morons and pointed to a sign that said cut off was 3:30. Super rude and unnecessary. Personally, I’m not not too upset about missing the cutoff time, however I really didn’t appreciate the staff acting as if we were stupid since their website has the wrong cut off time listed. Will not be back.

This place is pretty cool if you really need to wash your doggie but don't want to pay a ton of $$ for a groomer. They have tubs that come equipped with a hose, shampoo, a brush, a towel, and a blow dryer.There are ramps to help the dog get into the tub, and they have a leash that attaches then to the tub so they can't jump out.The groomers her also offer nail clipping and other grooming services as well, of you cannot do it yourself.

We've been taking our dog to mud puppy for years. Rosie does a great job grooming. I like that they don't pile up caged customers as other groomers sometimes do. They are timely and our dog is usually done and home in about an hour.

Found this place after a Sunday morning romp at the Huntington dog beach. They helped lift my non-cooperating dog into the bathtub and then stood by with advice and hands-on help.Good recommendation on using deshedding shampoo, conditioner, and how to use the soft brushes while washing and drying my big boy.Thanks Tiffany (groomer) and Paige for all the help.If you are looking for a self-service dog wash, this is the place!

Went today for the first time with my Great Dane. Holy smokes. How long have I been struggling to bathe him in the bath tub after trying other dog wash places that had inadequate water pressure / allowing aggressive dogs to be present / lengthy wait time. Can’t speak highly enough of the facility and the super friendly staff. I’ll be back!

I used the self wash and everything you need is a there. The only thing missing and the reason I didn’t go five stars is that you have to dry your pup in the tub so it’s difficult to get their paws done. That said, I had no problems with the staff and the price was reasonable

I have been taking my dog to Mud Puppy since they opened! It is a great way to bond with my dog during his bath and he feels safe. They have everything you need to self wash your dog, and they also offer excellent grooming services too! I highly recommend Mud Puppy!
