We needed food for our cats that did not have fish or fish oil, eggs, or cheese in it. Armstrong's Pet World had one. We already purchase food for our dog here because other stire brands upset her tummy. Our cats do not eat as much as they did before. Their poop has little to no smell. They do not cough up hair balls anymore. They are calmer and more reserved now. They used to fight for no reason. The store we go to put our food on order for us to ensure there is a bag of our choice of dog food and cat food available when we need them. The price a bit high, but with buying less food than before and having healthier cats, it's worth it!

Always great to support small business. They do not sell big brand food that is bad for you pets, only selected options they believe are the healthiest for you pets. Staff is always friendly and ready to help. Small but good enough selection of reptiles, gerbils, spiders, and fish to look at and purchase. They also have a pet clinic for vaccines and microchipping come through (info inside). I may pay a couple dollars more shopping here other than large name stores but it's worth it.

My Tilla (Bearded Dragon) wouldn't survive without this place. The people are nice. Best prices too. Keep the crickets and worms in stock all the time. It's all I can ask for:) thank you

Never going back to PetSmart after visiting this store! The staff was helpful, knowledgeable, and informative. They helped me pick out new food for my 4.5month old Blue Nose pit since she stopped eating the Blue Wildlife kibbles. They recommended NutriSource and as soon as we got home, I mixed it with her Blue Wildlife and she devoured it and left a small portion of the blue wildlife on her bowl. I was told it would help correct her diarrhea within a day so I will update my review to include details of this. They also do have the BEST rewards program and when you purchase dog food, you receive 40%off dog treats. I paid $54.90 total for the items in the picture. The bone alone costs around $10 at PetSmart but I only paid $4.19!

Absolutely wonderful shop with amazing customer service. Highly recommend!I came straight from a vet visit, needing food for my cats special diet the vet had just put her on.I had several questions as the special diet was unfamiliar to me and he was able to help recommend something for my cat that she ate right away! After struggling to eat for 3 weeks it was amazing to see her eating something so quickly, and it was full of protein so nutritious for her!

This last visit was better, someone with actual knowledge of the products being sold. She had a genuine interest in pets. Usually I'm greeted by a younger person who is just there to collect a paycheck. Hey get yours I guess...I prefer to shop here rather than a corporate store but I find it inconvenient when they don't have the essentials needed in emergencies. Like much else in this town it's hard to find items in a pinch then I find myself ordering on Amazon. Annoying.

I have been coming to Armstrong's Pet World in Merced for awhile now. I absolutely love this pet/people friendly environment so much. I have gotten to know most of them well. I have a snake, 2 dogs and a bearded dragon that I care for and only rely on Armstrong's for their needs. It's always a great time when my kids and I come in, we talk and get educated at the same time. They have even helped with concerns and have showed me techniques on how to care properly for my babies. Tom and Nathaniel are amazingly wonderful. My oldest daughter left for the Navy and they remember each time I come in and ask how she is doing. Nothing like an Organization that recognizes you and appreciates you, not just as a customer, but part of the Armstrong Family! You have all made our experience worth wild and we never think of you as just a place to profit on purchases lol. We love you all so much and wish you all including your little creatures a wonderful Merry Christmas and safe New Year. When you walk in, it might seem small but they can order you anything you want, including live fish and plants. They worked really hard to get me the live fish that I wanted, and even gave me a huge discount when the breeder was taking forever to send them. The staff are very helpful and nice. I will continue shopping with them as often as I can.

This is one of the best local animal supply stores. They have an excellent rewards program and will do their best to remember your name to give you your well deserved points every time. They always answer my questions and are very knowledgeable about their products and who they're servicing.

Management is great! Workers are very helpful as busy as they can be sometimes. Everybody is friendly!!! I'll definitely recommend this place for feeders and minor aquarium equipments. The only downfall is they don't have what you'd expect them to have. So, if you're not from around the area, make sure to call first.

Have a great selection on food for the domestic animals. Exotic snakes have just rats to feed here but Armstrong is very helpful on referring to other places if they don't carry that item. Great staff and clean establishment. Always feel welcomed.

I walked in wanting pet rats. The young man behind the counter bred rats. Overhearing conversation in the store the staff was very knowledgeable with scorpions and parakeets...I'm new to the area so I only knew to check the other 'CO's and 'Smarts, thank who we thank, Armstrong's was the only one I could find who had rats!I, of course, saved two Feeder rats, which I feel may be my new gig. Thank you Armstrong's!

the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. they even gave me free samplea of puppy food. I would have gave them a 5 star rating but they were out of stock on the puppy vaccine I was looking for but they were happy to locate a store in atwater that carried the vaccine my puppy needed.
