The new manager at the Menlo Park Unleashed location, Karen, is amazing! Customer service personified! Karen has the self bath area all set up with the necessary equipment and neatly organized. The entire store is clean and well stocked. Can’t find what you want? Speak to Karen or the outstanding staff and they’ll do what they can to get it for you. Most impressive turnaround of a horrible business to five star I’ve ever seen. Head over today!

I had a good experience yesterday bathing my dog in the self bathing area. Someone greeted me at the door and walked me through the entire process. Cannot beat this service for $20.A few FYIs:- self bathing is walk in only and first come, first serve. No reservations made.- if your dog is jumpy, make sure to secure him well in the tub. My dog jumped out in the middle of her bath.- the aprons provided do nothing. Bring your own waterproof apron if you don’t want to get soaked and be covered in hair.- the shampoo is highly watered down, so it’s only good for one full body bathe. Not sure if more if provided if you ask.- they were out of doggy perfume and recommended another customer buy some

Very poorly run, they only have 3 dog bath tubs and one is out of use due to blow dryer. They refuse to facilitate blow dryer sharing and imagist in making it a bottleneck, making patrons wait. When I made some suggestions to the staff (Isabel) she got frustrated with me, manager came super worked up and effectively said take it or leave instead of simple “sorry for inconvenience, we will look into it”. What an entitled behavior towards recurring customer. I will take my dog elsewhere from now on.

I have a new kitten and I bought the wrong food when I went back to exchange it the gal told me that I didn't use my correct phone number. Therefore she would not exchange it. I actually was so frustrated that I ended up leaving the brand new bag of food in the store because I'm not going to use. It She was not helpful and actually a little ghetto. I actually left and had an opportunity to review the receipt that I kept and noticed that she was indeed incorrect. The dry food was on my receipt, but she claimed that it wasn't on my account, and again I was just going in to swap it nothing had been opened. I am super disappointed, and I'm fine with her threatening me to open up her report I would like to speak with the district manager please respond.

Horrific customer service, will never step my foot in this store again. They have been getting worse for a while since the manager changed, but today was quite something. The manager refused to engage in a conversation and essentially told me to leave. Well you get your wish, I’m taking my business to another pet store. Good luck staying open with this attitude!

Great place for self-service dog wash. So far I've taken my dog there twice and had a great experience and the dog wash areas are clean. They provide a basket of shampoo, conditioner and towels for cleaning your pup.

They rarely have bags! Out of 5 years of shopping here, I think they only had bags to carry my larger amount of items once or twice. Last time, I had to carry 15 items to my car!

I'm writing to recognize the excellent customer service I received from Tiffany at the Menlo Park Unleashed. Tiffany herself deserves 5 stars. I'm giving the store 4 stores for a few reasons:1)It no longer has the breadth of inventory it used to (I've had to transition to buying online for almost all the items I regularly purchased for years for my dog and 2 cats.2) Not all of the employees are trained to put in the effort to provide excellent customer service.3)The store doesn't have a way to override its 30 day return policy on their in store computer.I found this out when I endeavored to return a large unopened bag of cat food on Sept. 17th that was delivered to me (from an online order) on August 17th. (the food no longer agrees with our cats).The first employee I was interacting with said this order didn't qualify under the return policy as it had actually been 31 days. Her attitude was basically your S.O. L. When I explained I had spent many thousands of dollars at this store and thru the online site over the past decade and that this seemed like a really poor way to serve a loyal customer, the first employee continued to react as a bureaucrat, as if she had been trained at the DMV. On the other hand, Tiffany, who also heard the conversation, said she would see if there was anything she could do. She ended up calling the online customer service folks who put her on hold, took my phone number down as I needed to leave, committed to calling me back when she heard something, and indeed called me back confirming she was able to have the purchase refunded.Thank you Tiffany for making the extra effort! I hope management recognizes your excellent customer service and trains others to do the same. As a result of your actions I'll continue to make some purchases through PetCo.

The store was nice, calm and clean. Customer service was a bit lacking but could be because of COVID and being understaffed. Worker didn't greet us and didn't speak much but 5 star for being clean.

Customer service has gone way downhill in the past serval years. The service used to be excellent and I really liked bringing my dogs here. The employees were kind and very considerate. Now they barley say hello to you when you walk in the store let alone help you out with the bath area. The lack of customer service has nothing to do with COVID and everything to do with employee hiring and training.

Good customer service with nice products. I frequent the dog wash station and I generally like it, but it should be kept cleaner. There are long intervals between customers washing their dogs and the staff coming to clean up. Also there are only two grooming tables for 4 tubs, sometimes it gets crowded and people have to wait. There should also be more hooks/shelves for owners to keep their belongings while bathing their dogs.

I went in and my favorite cat litter was no longer on sale. I looked up online and Petco's website has the same kind and size significantly on sale. The store immediately and with zero pushback honored the web price. Every time I go in, they are very friendly, and the store is clean. I see the dog trainer lady and enjoy hearing some of that session while shopping. All around fun place to shop.

How incompetent can management of this store can be? Last week on Tuesday June 1 I stop by to purchase Canine aspirin, I been told it out of stock and they should receive by that Thursday and unpack and be on the shelf by the weekend. I stopped by again yesterday June 10, and again nothing available. When asked a sales person what is going on I been told "HQ send us what they want, when they want" How reticules this answer is? So they are saying there are no computer database available for their stores to keep a track what's on a low count and reorder either automatically or store manager cannot keep a track of supply and reorder in a timely matter!! ANd then this small stores are surprised why are they going out of business and why people shopping on Amazon.

I called to see if the dog wash was open. "Sure, come on down". OK, I'll be there in five minutes. So five minutes later I walk in and the "manager" says sorry, it's 6:01 so the dog wash is closed, even though it's completely empty and the store doesn't close until 7 and the wash is officially open until 6:30. "It's the rules, there's nothing I can do". Well, that's not exactly true: you could lose a loyal customer.

I stopped in to buy a treat for my dog's 9th birthday and was greeted by Simon, who obviously LOVES his job and making dogs happy! He spent some time petting her and gave her a bunch of treats on the house for her birthday! She didn't want to leave, so we walked around to check out the toy selection which was nice and well-organized. Big dog washing station looked easily accessible. We will definitely be back!

Good place to bring your dog for a wash or buy dog food. The bathing area is small and no one attends the area. So you need to place the metal racks and plastic mat before putting your dog into the tub. Some of the tubs are missing leashes to tie up your dog will in the tub. The tubs are always clean when I get there and not very busy.

Great local pet store option. It is big chain, but in a small form. Only a few options of each thing, but covers all the essentials. They honor petco online prices.

A way smaller more expensive petco with top brands and high quality but thats really all they have. If your looking for something cheap or more affordable for your dog i do not reccomend here but you can give your dog a bath here yourself although i prefer if ima do it myself to just do it at home but thats personally others dont like to make a mess so this is a cheap bathing area.

this is one of the best pet stores I've seen in a long time it's a combination of Petco PetSmart and pet food Express all-in-one it is run by Petco though it's really nice good selection and variety.of everything and they have dog wash area to personally bathe your pet.

The employees are always so kind and helpful - especially at doggy bath time. The best part is that everyone there truly likes animals and in return my dogs like coming to the store.

Very convenient and friendly. Staff aren't as well trained and variety of food is not as wide as Pet Food Express in RWC, but will do in a pinch.
