Great local bookshop in Mendocino. They have a wide variety of new books, but also offer things like games and stationary. Best perk of all is Catsby. Improves the store by 100%. ♥️

Good book store, plenty of options. Located at a very nice location where the view is incredible. The store is packed with stuff… if you are driving around on a long trip maybe worth it to stop by to pick up a new book to read. The cat is was there and was grumpy…there’s a sign that say to pet the cat at your own risk. We stop by this place for curiosity but overall it’s a cool location… Not a place as must visit thought but just a cool book store. There’s so much more in Mendocino to see and spend time though.

Wonderful selection of books, greeting cards, tarot cards, stationery, and other goodies for bibliophiles. I love the layout of the bookshop too. Genres often have cozy nooks for themselves. The staff was friendly and Catzby, the resident cat is sweet. Would like to spend a whole afternoon there next time.

This is a great local book store with very good selection and arrangement. Kids loved the whole room full of books for them. Well organized and thoughtful in recommendations.Great selection of local site exploration and history as well.

This. Is. My. Favorite. Place. This bookstore was amazing. It had ALL of my favorite things. Huge selections of science-y books. Puzzles. Stationary. Fiction. Pencils. Stickers. Postcards. Books about art. Books about birds. Books about mushrooms. Books about mythology. Books about the ocean. Tarot decks. Coffee cups.They had so many books from my GoodReads list that I began to wonder if this store was made just for me. I might totally believe that it was all a dream, had I not come home with a stack of books to prove otherwise.I have never been to Mendocino before. But I will make it back someday JUST for this book store. Um, but also for the ocean. ❤🌊

the cat is so cute (the great catsby) and their selection and setup are excellent. lots of cute crafts, posters, gifts and cards along with books for all ages.

My family and I have been coming here for over 10 years spending at least 160-200 a visit to Mendocino. We come at least twice a year. This trip will be the last time I shop at this bookstore. Lord help us if it was because my family is black, interracial, biracial kids and queer on top of that. Our visit this time has opened our ours that we will nolonger waste our money bor recommend to our friends.

We visit Mendocino 2x per year for 5 day stays & the 1st place we stop is the Gallery Bookstore. Basically, it’s one of the very best bookstore EVER and visiting the bookstores Gatsby cat 🐈‍⬛ is a must as we have 8 cats that are back home which we miss whenever we leave the Cabin. I bet my husband last time $200 bucks that he was wrong where a local bakery was in town..I won & quickly navigated my way towards the Gallery to have a fun 2 hour shopping splurge & found so many books that I didn’t even know that I needed, but definitely wanted, as well as ordering 2 additional books rather than from Amazon, which shipped directly to us within 7 days of the order. The owner was extremely helpful as are all the folks that work there . I already have 3 books I was just about to order, but I’m waiting til’ we go up there next week, better to give it to local small businesses than Amazon, right? So many books to choose from and a variety of subjects and great gift items. Put it on your list of things to see in Mendocino . You won’t regret it !

I could give it 5 stars just for the sole reason that I met the beautiful resident cat named Catsby. However, the store is also wonderful and full of gifts and various types of books. I bought a book on game theory that I’m enjoying and a unique Fairyland puzzle as well. Great little store that I’m happy to have stumbled upon while in Mendocino.

Beautifully curated, not just with the selection of books, but a wonderful assortment of other items from stationary to nick nacks! The atmosphere in the shop is so inviting and peaceful. The owner (Catsby) and his human assistant shopkeepers are lovely as well :)

This is what a book store should be. A wide selection, helpful staff, great children's section with book for all ages, even young teens, and dog friendly to top it all off. The whole family enjoyed our visit, and they gave great tips on where to go for dinner.

The Gallery Bookshop in the beautiful town of Mendocino is an amazing place that is inviting and offers all the services you might expect from a larger facility, but with personalized service.There's a unique elevated section in the back that used to offer kitchen gadgets and such, but has now converted into a stationary store with a broad array of beautiful stationary and associated supplies for your writing pleasure.Don't miss the opportunity to browse through current new releases and award winners as well as old favorites.The view out the front window of the Bay is also as amazing as the staff and selection they have to offer.

Best bookstore it's size I've ever encountered. Their selection somehow always seems fresh and interesting and varied. They have local author readings and great book recommendations. The vibe is great and the employees are awesome! I told one of them about a recipe in a book that I wanted to find. I had no idea what the book was called or really much of anything about it and she was really nice about it. The kicker is! Not only did she find and order the book for me, call me when it arrived but she even bookmarked the exact recipe I was looking for! That kind of thoughtfulness a d service is so incredibly rare. Five stars may not be enough.

Loved this little bookstore, was comfortable and warm. Visited about four times during my stay in Mendocino, it has a large selection of all different types of books, funny staff, and a few novelty items. Even bought a nice smelling candle

A great selection of local authors and books. They allow you to peruse the eclectic selection of books at your own pace. We found some great books during our visit. And like others have said, the resident cat adds to the ambiance..
