A great store. Clean. Efficient staff. Helpful. The produce is okay. It does go bad quickly. They have a variety of things, from deodorant to wedding cakes via great flowers arrangement. I especially appreciate Downy, one of the cashiers. He's the one with the old-school Safeway uniform. Wiston is also very helpful as most of the employees are. The one funny thing is being asked repeatedly where things are by customers thinking am an employee. The reason. I wear all black. Lol. I'd follow Downy the cashier lead and get those uniforms for all who worked there. Just my opinion. Fair prices. Various eclectic and foreign ingredients, for any dish. Overall a great Safeway.

1. Rude employees, Some are okay but doesn't change the facts of having bad eggs in the bunch.2. Sells out of date/expired products " please check dates on stuff before you buy"3. Over prices everything even supposed deals are way over priced basically stealing from their customers.

Employee Joey deserves a gold metal award 🥇 for customer service and satisfaction in sandwich making! He made me the best sandwich of my entire life and even said “I am going to make you the best sandwich of your entire life” Give this man a raise and I hear he makes the best breakfast burritos of all time!!! 5 STARS ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

There were people all over stocking shelves and keeping them stock! It was nice having so many choices. I love their produce and that a lot of it is organic. A lot of vegetarian and vegan choices also. Lots of coupons too, which makes their low prices even lower! Coupons on line at their website and their Facebook page. It's also always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Safeway is always clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are much higher at Safeway than Win-Co or Grocery Outlet but the produce and meats are of greater quality, Safeway is stocked with most items including many ethnic and plant based foods. I recommend downloading the app, clipping coupons and taking advantage of the in store scan coupon option to save money.

I was very disappointed that the management had the customer service desk closed at noon today. All they had was a sign out that said they were sorry for the inconvenience. I’d understand if they were understaffed but I noticed several associates at the front of the store, standing around and yucking it up when they clearly could’ve been helping customers. Management was either off today or they don’t care.

Kinda exspensive but we love the Safeway bread. Can't seem to walk past it. Employees are very helpful and always trying to lighten my load because I tend to shop more than I do or expected. Always helpful to load my groceries and get me safe to my car or ride. And I'm grateful.

A bit expensive but I wanted a couple things, however, I never found what I was after. I must say Leann was certainly helpful! She told me what isles products were on. She is so adorable. It was nice to see her. Kammy was checking, I didn't disturb her, she is really very pretty, she is my daughter-in-law, and she couldn't believe me when I said how attractive she is. What a friendly place to shop.

Went in on Sunday Jan 15th, and the gal behind the meat and cheese counter w the glasses is on her a game. Def deserves a raise! She gets 5 stars.Store itself gets 4, drives me bonkers that they don't have hand baskets at both entrances.

I absolutely LOVE Safeway's produce department! And their bakery/deli is also superb! However, the employees that work there leave something to be desired... They don't seem to be very helpful and some seem to even resent being asked for help. Otherwise, it seems to be much like all other grocery stores in the area.

Clean store , plenty of parking, lots of sales, quality produce, shelves plentiful. However the rudeness from a deli worker in this store was absolutely uncalled for. Asking for ranch dressing to accompany the fresh salad yet prepackaged in-store and was given thick ranch made for dipping and when we ask for salad dressing instead we were told in an unfriendly yet irritated voice that "Ranch is ranch" and given an eye roll by this not such a gentleman then he walked off. I will not be ordering anything from the deli at this specific Safeway location!

Cashier was a b**** wouldn't sell me alcohol when I'm clearly of age because my id was expired when 90+% of the time I go in there they don't ID me and their not cheap either grab 5 things and type in club card still paying 70+ $ safe you're self the money and trouble goto WinCo

Went into McKinleyville Safeway this morning to get a $order to pay my rent, and a gallon of milk. I accidentally dropped my rent money on the floor. Kammie, one of the morning cashiers found it and turned it in. I never thought I'd ever see it again. I lost it, realized it was missing, and got it back, 25 mins. They gave me my money back. I still can't believe it. There are still is a few honest people in the world. Kammy is one of them. I don't know if upper management reads these reviews, but Kammy is upper management material. She is dedicated, professional and possesses an even rarer gift; integrity. Thank you Kammy

My family and I have been shopping here for years and the cashiers were for the most part pleasant and helpful, but not so much now. There are a few, especially in the early morning hours, who come across really cold. They are nice to some customers but not to others. I have also noticed that the office managers in customer service do not like to answer any questions before 9:00 AM no matter how simple the question! I do not think that they like customers. There are still a few pleasant and helpful employees, but not like it was before.

Store was nice. Well organized and lots of variety. The person who checked me out was very unpleasant. She didn't want me to put anything on belt until she was ready? I asked the price of something and she told me we will see at the end. I said I had bags she was rude about that. I would avoid her always. Never had shopped there before but after this may be my last time. Towanda would be the reason to shop elsewhere.

Oh, safeway's selection is great.........☝️😌 Miss me with them prices though. Nope nope. Yeet those out the door and hit them on the way out! Also, can you guys restock my Early to Rise coffee already?! Errm pretty please with the tickling glitter of 10,000 laughing and smiling bebes? 🙏 and I guess a cherry 🍒 on top.

People in the deli were rude. I asked for sliced salami and they told me precut meat was already sliced in the cooler by the register. There was no salami, so I asked again and they were extremely annoyed they had to cut me some. I had asked politely, and it was the middle of the afternoon, not minutes before closing time. The store wasn't very busy, and there was no reason for the rotten attitude, so I probably won't be back.

Seems like it's really gone downhill the last couple years. Especially since the pandemic. My main complaint is that the produce is absolutely terrible!!! Watch what you buy in the produce section. Number one, it's way too expensive! And number two and most of all, it doesn't last long I put it in my refrigerator a couple days later it's rotten. Literally for the past I'd say year most of all the produce that I buy at this Safeway within a couple days goes bad. Also their selection of ethnic foods, such as, hot sauces, Mexican herbs, and spices. Asian foods are very limited. Which is a surprise considering this is Humboldt county. So yeah. This Safeway is meh.

I Instacart shop for my fellow neighbors here. It's my favorite place to shop. They usually are stocked up on all the items needed, but ran into shipping problems around the new year for obvious reasons put of their control. The staff is WONDERFUL. Everyone's helpful and friendly. It's always a great shopping experience. I love when my kids are with me, the bakery gifts them a cookie 🍪

Like this Safeway a lot. The customer service guy doesn't always know what he's talking about (I ran that department for 7 yrs at another safeway). Some of the checkers are a bit uptight and excessive. Example: One lady wouldn't sell me beer because my boyfriend emptied the cart onto the belt and therfore touched the beer so she wanted to see his ID but he forgot it at home although I was the one paying (we're in our 30s btw) and then I had to go grab another case of beer and get in a different line! It was ridiculous. But most of the staff are really nice and helpful and the store (including the bathrooms) is always clean. I also have never dealt with long lines there which is nice. This is the only Safeway I shop at within a 50 mile radius. Also a good shopping center with plenty of parking.

This store is nice and clean. They always have an excellent selection of fresh produce. They also have a lot of gifts in floral department. Their bakery has a wide variety of goods, and they also have hot foods ready to go. Employees are knowledgeable and helpful.
